    Cliff,
I just read that in the late 1800's the park had been completely stripped of its white pine, used for ship masts etc.
Today, the forest has returned albeit with different trees.
Thought I'd pass that along to you, we need positive comments!
    Rik

Everyone, please comment on all Cliff's videos. It helps more people to see his cool adventures. TH-cam will show it to more people. 7:17 I'd need a report from 3 geologists on the stability of that rock before I got close to there, and I'm not afraid of heights. Just falls.
    Thanks Cliff, great video!

Your fear of heights not only makes my fear of heights kick in but makes me very nervous and I'm just watching!

Thank you for noting that the trail is accessible for people who need wheelchairs and other assistive gear. I may be in that position in the future, and I like knowing that I won't have to give up the trails completely.

Colton Point is my favorite side of the canyon, My family would drive up from our hunting camp on Rt 44 north of Haneyville. Would eat either lunch or supper there and drive back. Have a pic of my Dad standing on the edge where the first view @1959 before the railings were put up. I usually drive from there to Bradley Wells Picinic Area, and eat there, very good views there too. then on to Rt 414 . or I drive to Beautiful Downtown Leetonia family joke, just a bunch of cabins now. But @ 1900 3000 people live there. From there I drive to Rt 44 by some Mt roads.

Fantastic place to visit and walk in nature! Backpacking is the way to go as you dont have to make day trips here and there but take your time to explore all these great places you are going to. Thanks Cliff for sharing!

We’ve always gone down into the canyon for biking/hiking/skiing but not much hiking on the west rim. I will put is on my list of hikes to do. We’ve driven on Colton Road when the packed snow was over the guardrails. That was not fun! Tanks so much for sharing! Gotta love that song at the end! Great memories!😅

We've not visited Colton Point yet. But my wife, my daughter and I, visited Leonard Harrison Park last fall, and did the Turkey Path one week. Then my wife and I biked the Pine Creek Rail Trail the following week, from Rattlesnake Rock to Darling Run and back. That place is absolutely breathtaking and we are planning a return trip this fall! Now we might include Colton Point in our trip.

    Chris,
Nice song, I had a real "belly" laugh! 😒
That area looks a lot like the eastern section, leading into the Grand Canyon of the Colorado,
    except for the trees:)

Did the west rim this summer, 19.5 hours. The north end is a bit spooky with rocks and stumps. Your going down pretty far if you mess up. The uphill at rattlesnake rocks will test you! Way worse than the turkey path on a hot day!
