    Duncan is a top 5 player ever. Idgaf if anyone disagrees. Don't care if he's not the most exciting, but he's one of the most effective. Dude was elite on both ends for a long time. Give the man his props.

      Also his prime was so long ago many people don't realize how insane he was during his MVP years. He's definitely underrated because he wasn't as flashy overall and because casual fans don't value longevity as much. Dude was 39 and still one of the most efficient players in the league defensively. The fact he hasn't won DPOY while consistently being Top3 defender throughout his career is a robbery too. And the impact on the whole Spurs culture he had even when his numbers weren't super impressive anymore is hard to quantify.
      To me Duncan might be barely pushed out of Top5. I'd say MJ, LeBron, Kareem, Wilt + Russel have to be Top5 and then Bird, Magic, Duncan sort of go together. But even I might be underrating him :P

    • @Maal7432
      @Maal7432 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Modestas Malakauskas Yeah, him not having DPOY is the biggest robbery in the history of the sport. No way should Camby have won it over him.

      As bias Spurs fan I got Duncan over Bird and Magic and on my top 5 all time. My argument over Larry was his insane longetivity and people forget how dominant Duncan was early in his career on his rookie year he was already a top 5 player was first team all nba and second team all defense as a rookie while getting 2 mvps and 3 finals mvp. Timmy was also one of the greatest defenders of all time. My argument of Duncan over Magic was that Duncan was dominant at the peak of the western conference and got 5 rings even if he was facing hell on that conference. Magic was on a really bad western conference which was as bad as the eastern conference of the 2000s. Its a shame that people only think of Old Man Riverwalk Duncan but forget the dominant Duncan that was a double double killing machine Duncan.

    “I got hurt on company time, so I’ll rehab on company time.” - Shaq before the ’02 season began. He had a bad toe and instead of getting surgery early in the summer, he waited until the Lakers’ pre-season began in ’02 to get the operation. That phrase he uttered showed his attitude and work ethic. It proves Shaq only considered basketball a seasonal job, not a year-round one.

      I would say 3 rings on 5 years is a dynasty. 2003, 2005 and 2007. Now that I think about it we could have won 5 in a row if 0.4 Fisher shot didnt happen. The Manu foul agains the Mavs on game 7 didnt happen on 2006.

      Bro ratings have a lot to do with it. For example in 2004 the Spurs had won I believe combination of 20 plus games including playoffs and smack the Lakers in the first 2 games and then the league takes over to save it self from "boring" aka fundamentals and the team that won like 22 straight lost 4 straight. I don't wanna hear about Fisher shot that was 1 game. The Spurs were blowing teams out by double digits on the road and they lose 4 straight. We know what was up the league had to survive for rating for these new billion dollar tv deals so even bums like Mike Conley can make 30 mil a year. And if let's say if they win in 04 they not winning in 05 because the league would be shut down due to lack of ratings.

    • @jasonsal6742

      Ppl don't know what a true dynasty is. A real dynasty is being at the top for the longest. Who has been at the top for the longest more then the San Antonio Spurs..? They carry with them the most winningnest team out of "all major sports" title. Highest winning percentage of all major sports. Been to the playoffs more then two decades straight! Never missed the playoffs and always a title contender thoughout those decades. Meaning they remain relevant and in the playoff race year after year for more then "two decades!" Let that sink in cause no team or no other player has done what the Spurs and Tim Duncan done. What the Spurs did is the definition of excellence, greatness, sustain greatness, magical, extremely rare, and u probably will never see it done again or out done by nother player or team in yur life time and maybe even in yur kids life time. Let that sink in as well to really understanding how special these accomplishments are and they should be well noted..💯✌️
