I can’t believe you have the patience to disassemble such an old lenses that was made over fifty years ago, clean it and put it back together again for possibly another fifty years of life . Good job .
This is the whole goal of my channel, to keep such beautiful gear to keep going as long as possible and to enable you (the viewer) to do the same thing on your own lens. Best.

Thanks my friend!
Amazing job !!! 👍👏🤙🇦🇷
Thanks mi amigo!
Hello 👋
Really useful and informative video .
I use the ai version of 55mm 1.2 nikon on my D700 extensively for portraits and general use. It's an amazing lens for its bokeh and characters . I've read that the 55mm 1.2 was the nikon project to achive aperture 1.2 in it's lineups and with creation of 50mm 1.2, the 55mm 1.2 completely was absent.
Also there is not any useful video or comparison on TH-cam about this gem and i think if it's possible, i suggest to make a practical comparison or review about that .
Regards.
Mohammad
Hello Mohammad, that's actually a fantastic idea, I'll take a look since I have both versions of this lens (with different coatings) and a friend of mine has the later Ai version.
It is better way to apply grease to thread of helicoid with a little stiff paint brush - there it is consumed more economically and applied in a thin layer.
Hi, thanks for the advice.
This lens is actually known for being particularly bad wide open. It works great at 1.4 You might as well buy the 1.4. Its cheaper and the performance you get is much better. And the 1.4 is smaller and lighter. At 1.2 it has all kinds of issues with aberration. contract, and coma.
Hi, I like this lens exactly for that, at 1.2 you get a weird and dreamy look that you don't get with any other lens.
I compared two 50mm 1.8, 1.4 and this 55mm 1.2 . It's characters at 1.2 is phenomenal. In fact It's an underrated lens .
Tu prend quoi en graisse ?
Je le dis dans la vidéo je crois. Bref, c'est skf lglt2. Cordialement.
Has Nikon ever reached out and scolded you?
Hi, never. Anyway, I don't see why they would do that. I celebrate their lenses and most lenses I repair they don't repair anymore.
This lens was produced from 1965 to 1972. His fate is the last thing Nikon cares about right now.
@@cybernetik7209 that's also a very good and valid point :)
