    You don't have to split it track the copy and paste segment. Just select the segment and copy and when you paste it will only grab that section you had highlighted

    For some reason I can't delete the Position at min 04:18... Thus when I add the pixelate Event, doesn't work...

    Omg you're a hero man. I was so used to the built in FX in 14 "witness protection", I was shocked to learn that they took it out of 18 but this works perfect; I actually used the rectangle instead; but thanx so much.

  • @milesodonnol4456
    @milesodonnol4456 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good, clear explanation, and your delivery speed was perfect. I assume we are apply pixelation as a TRACK effect to the upper (copied) track. That coulda been clearer. Oh, a very small thing: When you set your mask area keyframe and delete the key at the start of the clip, you don't need to drag your new key to the beginning. Since it's now the ONLY key, it covers the whole clip no matter where it sits in time. Great job on the tut. It gave me just what I needed!

    This might not make it to you on an older video, but I don't have the 'mask' button for some reason, do you know how to enable it? Great tutorial by the way!

    • @SonicAlpha
      @SonicAlpha ปีที่แล้ว +1

      While I hope you have figured it out by now, this is more for the people also searching for the answer. There is no mask option if you have Movie Studio Platinum, it's a Pro feature. According to google, there are ways around it, but I'm still trying to get them to work 😤
      EDIT: Follow the vid tutorial, but when it comes time to add/tick the "mask" use the "Cookie Cutter" effect instead, and position it where you want it (you'll have to mute the bottom vid layer to see what you're doing, don't forget to unmute it when you're done). Then add your blur effect.
      If your blurred area needs to move, follow Movie Studio Zen's video from 22 Jul 2011; it explains the additional steps a lot better than I could. It uses version 11 of Platinum, but the same principles apply for later versions too 😄

  • @onescale

    Just seen your channel and I have subscribed! I use Vegas 20 now, but much of what I have seen here works with Vegas 20 as well. Now, let's say I have a video and in the top left corner I infrequently get a text appearing - that I would really like to get rid of, but NOT blur or pixelate, so that the video behind is unaffected. Now here in your example, you use the PIXELATE option to just blur out th selected part. But what option from the EFFECTS would you use so that text is removed, leaving the original video behind it unaffected? Or does this require a different technique? cheers - Lee (UK)

    It looks great while I'm in Sony Vegas, but the rendered video has much less blur/pixels, so that whatever's "censored" shows through anyway. I can't get the finished product to look like the preview. Am I rendering in the wrong format or something?

  • @helltioeverygames
    @helltioeverygames 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Nobody said it but i will,the tutorial is perfect but there´s a problem,if you recorded a video using a cellphone in vertical position you cannot use pan crop because you already use it on a blur selection,sad,tiny detail but it doesn´t work with vertical videos i mean,it does work but when you try to make it full screen as an unboxing it messes things up.

    Tfw when a youtube does a better job explaining censoring workflow than their (Magix) own website.
    Great tutorial on your part there. But it's infuriation to know, that they have a tracker and everything and yet it's still more intuitive to use this method.

    I was blaming mobile video editors why they didn't have built-in Blur.. but now even the heavy editor Sony Vegas didn't have😮
    Strange thing, it's not as easy as the blur in Camtasia in example!
    Btw, for sure I benefited from your video, as I'm Vegas user also, but I just criticize the program...
