Types of Anesthesia in Plastic Surgery

There are several types of anesthesia that is used in plastic surgery.
1. Local/Regional Anesthesia- using medications like lidocaine
2. Sedation- medications usually through an IV that keeps you sleepy enough that you don't remember anything, but awake enough that you are able to breathe on your own.
3. General Anesthesia- when you are completely asleep and have a breathing tube.
