NUKIE is a teppanyaki restaurant in Toyama. No, it is not like Benihana in the US... teppanyaki is actually considered a fancy and chic restaurant in Japan. The vegetables, meat and seafood are all fresh. The chef cooks everything in front of you on a steel plate grill, working up your appetite. You decide the cook on your meat. Garlic rice is a good choice to go with your meal. The seafood was delicious, but meager portions, so I would forego the seafood and stick to meat choices. The waiting staff was attentive... there's the chef who cooks, the sous chef who preps the chef, the wait staff that clears your dishes and the wait staff who take you to different stations depending on where you are on your meal.
