Visiting Toyama? Moving to Toyama? Living in Toyama? Wondering what to eat? This channel introduces some restaurants in Toyama worth checking out. There's a variety of cuisines for everyone. Toyama has many hidden gems. The food is fresh (We have mountains, farms, rice fields, ocean), the price is affordable, the people are passionate about their culinary arts. Unfortunately, Toyama is not walkable. Without some kind of guide, you may never find some of the many hidden tasty treats. And what's more, support the local economy. So get out there and starting munching your way through Toyama!

AMACA HAMMOCK CAFE is a small dessert cafe hidden on the sleepy fishing coast of Namerikawa. One wonders what such a trendy cafe that you might find in the center of a Tokyo hotspot is doing here. But the locals thank the gods that there is such a shop as AMACA making out-of-this-world tall parfaits out in Namerikawa. These parfaits are top-notch compared to most places in Toyama that specialize in parfaits. I have not seen a more sophisticated dessert cafe in Toyama than AMACA. The parfaits are tall, use seasonal fruits, and contain as much as 20 ingredients in one serving. There are even mind-blowing, rare ingredients such as red wine jelly, amber burnt caramel gelato, rose cookies, raisin butter, and a lot more! You get an exciting explosion of tastes in your mouth, depending on where you are in your journey through your parfait consumption. Not only that, but this is a HAMMOCK CAFE. Each table has at least one hammock seating, for you to swing through the duration of your meal. What is such a trendy cafe doing in the middle of nowhere? I am confident this shop would franchise well in big cities. There is an issue with parking, however, as only three cars fit in their parking lot. Yes in terms of the dipping, but the dipping broth is piping hot, unlike zaru soba or zaru udon.

What's the difference between Kappo and Kaiseki? Both traditional Japanese cuisine, right?
One difference I heard is that although similar dishes are served, kaiseki comes out in a certain order and is meant to be eaten in a certain order while kappo is served all at once and you eat more freely. So in that case, kaiseki seems more formal.

You can't sit in the lambo unless the owner allows you to. You can try to ask him. He was hanging around the cafe and helping oit when we were there. He is also happy to introduce you to his baby.
