In this video, I will show you how to replace your paper sheet music with an IPad.
Maybe you still question yourself: Should I use an IPad instead of normal printed sheet music? I can really say to you, it’s totally worth it!
-- What App to use --
In my opinion, Forscore is the best App for reading digital scores. It has all the necessary tools you need. Forscore costs 20$ but it’s worth every penny, and you just have to buy it once.
-- What tablet you need ---
In this case, you have only one possibility - to use an IPad. Forscore is compatible only with Apple. Actually, from my point of view, IPad is the best choice. For example, my IPad is from 2014 (nearly 7 years old at the moment) and it still works great.
-- How to use the App --
1. how to get your sheet music into the App
Often, you cannot find the right sheet music online you need. There are still many sheets not available but that’s not an issue. You can just take pictures of your sheet music and convert it into a pdf document. Or just directly use this function in Forscore.
2. backup
What is also very important, is that you should do regular backups of your library in Forscore. Because you will lose all your data in case your Ipad is stolen or just lost. To do a backup, you can connect your Ipad with your computer and use Itunes. Or even better, use Dropbox.
-- What kind of foot pedal you need --
I’ve tested many different pedals and the Page Turner Pedal from a company called Donner, is the best, in my opinion. You can find an Amazon link in the description. This pedal is, by the way, cheaper than other similar pedals.
-- What kind of music stand you need --
First, you need a special holder for your IPad. Mine is from Grifiti. It is very old and I am not sure that they still sell this kind of case. But I believe you can find some good alternatives. Secondly, you need an IPad stand. You can buy any IPad stand you like online. - บันเทิง
Nice job! Concise, clear, no waste, no annoying music to sit through! Lol! Thank you!
Yes! I’m a pianist! I felt you were talking to me 😂 I will need a bigger iPad
This video is exactly what I needed! Thank you
So clear and the video answered all of my questions making the whole process friendly instead of scary
Danke schön! Straight to the point and very informative.
Gerne :) I'm glad you liked it!
Thank you. You answered all my questions and very clearly
Thank you for your video! It was very helpful 👍
Thank you for sharing this!
Cheers mate 🤝🤝
Great advice
I carry a few kilos of sheet music with me for my gigs and this video helps me to the tight direction 🤝🤝
Awesome video, thanks for this!
Thank you and welcome :)
Wonderful job with your video can't wait to watch more 🙂
Thank you very much Arielle :-) !!
Great video, thank you.
Yes please share a video on how you made your own music stand.
Thank you for the video, I had a concert a couple days ago and my music was taken by the wind, super embarrassing. But now that I have an iPad, I’m transferring all my music on there and never have that happen to me again!
Oh no! Things like that happen all the time... but they sure don't with an iPad! :)
thank you! This is the best video, easy to follow and understand.I play bass Clarinet in a chamber music group and often have multiple pages.Having had eye trouble lately, cannot turn pages easily, so bought i pad and will have to learn it. Regards from sunny

very helpful
I use a binder or carefully organize the books neatly in a handbag 👜 to use for a piano gig to not run the risk of a iPad or phone crashing. Just would like to be safe and prepared to have fun playing.
Extremely helpful. I’ve wondered about this for a long time! Thank you! If you had an Amazon linked account and add it to your comments I’d buy the footpedal through your link. I’m an artist and many you tube artists make some money with their Amazon product endorsements.
Danke..
awesome info, is there a follow-up youtube about making our own lightweight stand?
I need to name of the Foot Pedal used. He spoke a bit quickly and I missed it. I rewound it but still am not sure!
Please show how to build an iPad stand
Yes, make a stand-making video. Please
Thanks for this comment :) I'll make it soon!

thank you very much for the video! I have a question… is it possible to move up and down half a page at a time with the pedal?
Yes
2:35 except... Me, a pianist thinks "I'm a pianist". Lol... :D
I know tell me about it but now I have a big iPad Pro for my music sheets
Have you created a video that shows how to make the ipad stand?
Dear Wonder Cello, on time stamp 2:34 - 2:37 you say "...size works for me except you are a pianist". What do you mean? Great video! Thanks!
Because piano scores require much more space. They consist of two note carriers, not one, as for many other instruments.
Is it better Forscore than Henle Verlag App?
I use PDF chord charts to play live on stage. I have a page turning foot switch. I can't figure out how to turn pages with my foot switch! It is connected because the foot switch can fast forward or rewind TH-cam videos. But how can I simply turn the page on my extensive PDF collection?
I can’t seem to catch the name of the page turner you liked. Please put it in writing.
Can you import your sheet music from another app into for score? Also does forscore have a looping feature?
Adobe Scan
Hi, do you think 64GB is enough for sheet music use?
sorry for my late responds but yes it is enough because they only PDF files. So my 12 year old score libary for example is only 1.6 GB large
What iPad do you have?? Thanks
I am using the iPad air 2 from 2014
Make a stand. Thank you
I will !

If you’re tired of your sheets books please send it to me I need
Why can't you just put the ipad on a music stand?
It can slip forward or fall off easily if the stand gets bumped and not only break the iPad but make a racket.
Do not need a pedal anymore.
