    I always lay a small mesh net across my bucket and siphon into it that way i can just look in the net instead of the bucket. Works great for me!

    I do it this exact same way. I feed in little fish bowls so I put all my snabies in the bowls before removing them from tank.

    This was a great and informative video. The music in the background was somewhat distracting and a little too loud. Just FYI for future reference. I love everything I learn from you !!

    How do you get rid of white planeria with snails in a well established planted tank?
    I was thinking of setting my snails up in a large apothecary jar with an airator filter and putting fenbendazole or something of the sort in the main planted tank. Any experience? Any advise would be great 😊
    Edit:
    I can't believe I didn't mention... My Mystery Snails clutch is hatching right now :)
    I have a little area for them but the planeria has got to go before they get too big.

    Hello! My very first clutch is hatching and I'm hoping I can get some advice on which tank to let them into to grow. I have a 10 gallon that is currently housing some cory fry I'm growing up and a 20 gallon that's heavily planted with white cloud mountain minnows and shrimp. These are the only 2 tanks I find it wise to let them hatch into because my only other 2 tanks contain gourami and I think they would get eaten...so I have to choose either the 10 they may muck up fast or the 20 that the plants could benefit from the muck more and is better equipped to deal with the extra bioload but also have to worry about sucking up shrimplets if I have to gravel vac and not being able to get in-between the plants...help!

    Lav what is the max size to be in a breeding box my Python is huge I move he adult’s big so baby’s wouldn’t stand a chance with it like maybe jelly bean size would be okay but are they going to be fine until that size?

    I noticed you didn't have any lid on the tank, do you ever have them escape?

    • @LavsSnails
      @LavsSnails  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      So, during the day when I am close to the tank (it's in my kitchen) the lid is off. I do this because of the light I use for the tank. At lights off I then put the lid on for the night. No, no one usually gets out of this tank as they are very young and don't have the "drive" or "urge" to get up and out as they are not breeding, so no one is going to lay eggs. Lol that was a long winded answer, 🤣 but no. They don't usually escape this tank. ♡ thanks again for the support!

    hi Lavyna i need some advice i have so many baby snails i added 20 to a 20 gallon tank and they got way bigger than the ones in the tank they were born in. My question is is 20 too many for my 20 gallon?

    • @LavsSnails
      @LavsSnails  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not at all! That's a perfectly fine number as long as you do your maintenance 👍🐌💜 good luck with your babies!

      @@LavsSnails one more question in the tank they were born in I have probably more than two or three hundred and I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them they are mostly purple. My water is very cloudy and I've been doing the water changes but I had it checked once and it was acidic then the next week they said it was fine but it was still cloudy. Will snails cause a tank to be acidic

    • @LavsSnails

      @@thelymrist7819 in my experience the more poop present in a snail tank the lower the ph will fall overtime. I like to use a few different seachem products to help balance things out. If your most recent test came back that parameters were okay this last time the cloudiness is probably from detritus and poop. A good gravel vac 40% should help. (Provided it is not cycling or crashing.) If you have that many snails you may want to invest in an API Master test kit. So you can keep an eye on levels more consistently. Make sure you stick to a good maintenance routine with the tank and it should improve. If you really need help with placement of any snails and find yourself in a bind you can email me at LavsSnailSales@ gmail.com and we can chat about it.
      Hope some of that helped, bestest of luck 🤗🐌💜
