Hi Doreen, I've been loving your videos. I'm wishing I could find a way to make my budgie friends Petey and Peeps happier and to trust me a little more. Peeps bullies Petey, and I can't make Peeps understand it's not nice to pick on Petey! I've been reluctant to finger train them because they get so easily freaked out over any sort of change. But I know they need more exercise than what they're getting. Their cage is large, but smaller than the one Elvis and his cage mates share. I introduce new toys to my budgies, but they ignore them.

As for getting your birds to trust you, I would try giving them a treat whenever you go to them, once they start coming to you automatically you can start training them. Regarding the bullying, Elvis liked to pick on LJ, so we would separate them every time he got carried away, after a while he seemed to have caught on and for the most part he behaves himself. Elvis never played with his toys until I got Presley and she showed him how to play, and then Elvis in turn taught LJ and Gibbs how to play with their toys. You could try showing your budgies some TH-cam videos of other budgies playing with their toys?
@@ElvisMySweetBudgie Thanks for the info! I have millet sprays I ought to use. I do keep long-playing videos of budgies in aviaries chirping and singing. This cheers my birdies up a lot. Thanks again, and Happy New Year!
Two of my budgies Brett and Newland are way too "feral" for taking while Emmanuel, Pippin, and my baby budgie Becky are semi untamed.I guess most adult budgies are untamed.
@Joejoe-n8p it’s hard to train them if you have other birds around, with time patience and if you could get them one on one, you’d be surprised. I wouldn’t give up.

@@ElvisMySweetBudgie I agree you have to get one on one with your bird to train it. Additional birds on the training surface make it impossible.
