Nice looking but I didn’t get one mainly because the trans pod is not removable, and a bit plasticky. So I got the smaller die cast ones with the removable pod ( Sixteen12 collectables )
It does look really really good! But agreed, the price is a bit steep, being more than 100% the cost of the Eaglemoss ships. I had just recently gotten my Tomy Enterprise, and it was frankly a steal for the price. Some quality issues yes, but the 2 Eagles with the discount is over half the cost of the Tomy Enterprise, not including shipping (which was free for the Ent). At full price they'd come to 2/3rds the cost in comparison. While the box is beautiful and a piece of art in of itself, I would have liked it a bit plainer so I wouldn't feel bad about tucking it away in a closet while the model is on display. The landing pad base is nice, but screams for a plexiglass case to put over it so to keep the dust off. Lastly, maybe some little rubberized pads would be good for the bottom of the base so it doesn't go shooting off the table or shelf if accidentally bumped. A couple extra bucks from a hardware store so that's not a big deal. Gorgeous, but a bit too steep for the casual Space:1999 fan. Now that I'm looking at the Anderson site, I'm kicking myself for not getting the Moonbase Alpha Technical Manual when it came out LOL.
I have always wondered about the Eagle beak. Anyone know if besides looking cool there was any point to the lower section mirroring the upper window ports?
That’s a terrific question and I personally have no idea at all! I suspect some Space:1999 technical aficionado may be able to help though! If not I’ll ask it in my next Eagle video when it drops.
I got the pair and my eagle had the same misalinment as yours.how did you fix your engines? Great video Thanks. Have You Seen The Sixten 12 Eaeles? Have One Of Each Of The Sixten 12 Eagles And The Swift And Two Of The Hawks One Orange And One White. I Plan On Making A Diarama Of The Hanger Using Foreed Perspective With The Sixten 12 Eagles In Front The Andersons Eagles In The Midground And My Dinky Eagles In The Background
Hey - I’m so jealous you still have your Dinky Eagles! The misalignment was a pain, but there are two small tabs either side of the engines and both really need to be on the inside. I used a pair of tweezers to ease the misaligned tab gently inside the main frame - it was a scary few minutes to be fair! - but it did clip into place and now it holds ok. I suspect mileage may vary depending on the level of misalignment and if you were to attempt a personal repair, go slow and gentle. The idea of that diorama is excellent!
Well it’s personal choice - the range under Anderson Entertainment seems promising but of course I’ve only seen one of theirs so far - although they seem to be essentially the same base design as the Eaglemoss, so if you’re an Eagle fan I’d suggest you see if you can pick one of the Eaglemoss editions up on the secondary market to get a personal sense of the build and the quality, and if you’re happy with that you’ll likely be happy with the upcoming releases too 🙏🏻
I was keenly listening out for the price.. but unless I mentally blinked at the wrong moment (quite possible) im not sure you said? Also... where do these come from? I cant seem to find an Anderson Entertainment store. Bit of a shame really that Eaglemoss' demise has lead to a fragmenting of these collectibles where before they were under one roof. We now have fanhome for Star Trek (really looking forward to new stuff) - and Master Replicas for Dr Who/Stargate etc to name but two.
Hi - I got an advanced discount price from being a prior customer; the link you’re looking for is: shop.gerryanderson.com/collections/collectibles Enjoy!
For that price I would expect cleaner mould lines around the command module and NOT moulded in thrusters. Even the Dinky one had better thrusters! Disappointing. Guess it is economics, what is the cheapest build that can be sold at the maximum price to give most profit. The box is way ahead of the model in quality.
Hmmm to be honest so far they seem to be pretty much the same core build, and they scale exactly with the Eaglemoss ones (so far). So other than the extension to the range, which I think is a good thing, I’d say the build quality at this stage is on a par with the Eaglemoss models. If you liked those, you’ll like these; if you weren’t impressed by Eaglemoss then you’ll likely have a similar experience here … 🙏🏻
@@timetravellingtoycollector4149 I’ve not tried an Eagle moss to be honest. I was going to buy one, but they vanished. They were a lot cheaper though. Have you owned a Sixteen 12 Eagle? Those look really nice. Very expensive though.
I've always wanted to get the original Dinky Eagles from my childhood, but they're still quite expensive. I missed out on the Eaglemoss editions (was unaware of them), so looked forward to these releases. The price-point for me is unfortunately too expensive. I had hoped it would be half the price, but at this pp I would stump up a little more and buy the 22" Eagle kit (granted, I would have to build/paint it, but it's a superb kit).
15:18 I've bought both the eagles plus the TB2 and am so disappointed with them all especially TB2 very poor quality, And the certificates aren't numbered, The boxes are the best things, Won't be buying again, forgot same landing for TB2.
I still watch the TV series 😊.
Very nice eagle love it.😊.

Many Good memories from Space 1999 or Månbas Alfa as it was called here in Sweden👍😊
Cheap plastic sent mine back not worth the money but it comes in a pretty box
Awesome review! 👍
Nice model I want to buy one

Looks great 👍
Price not.

Hope they come to USA.
I have a couple Product Enterprise eagles . Should I consider these as well?

Kann man das Raumschiff nicht in Originalgröße nachbauen?Dann kann man richtig reingehen das wäre doch cool.

I’m with you. I do want one, but still out of my range as of now.
I have a dinky eagle when I was a school but like many people you forget what happened to it.
2000 limited with certification but not numbered?
