    This is the other reason why I bought a Beta 300. Easy topend refresh unlike a 4 stroke. I can’t wait to get some more hours on it.

    If you just change the piston and the cylinder is good, can you just measure the base gasket and the new gaskets until you have the same measurements as the old gasket and use that for clearance between the head and top of piston

    • @3SeasRecreation
      @3SeasRecreation  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good Morning! That is a good idea, but we still recommend grabbing the inexpensive Beta tool that measures the clearance. Also, in the video I thought it would be best if I show it. Enjoy the ride, Jared

    Nice video! Thanks! My 23 300 has 80 hours on it. Hard trail riding. I was thinking about a top end this winter. Is it common to just replace piston and rings? What and when do you recommend? Many thanks

    I'm doing a top end on my 2022 300 race edition and the stack of base gaskets that came off the bike measure over 1mm.. that seems almost too thick, but it came from the factory that way.. I suppose I should just get the decking tool to measure the clearance on top of the piston instead of just stacking a bunch of gaskets with the new piston. Thoughts?

    I hate to be that guy but... You did the compression test wrong. The first test the throttle was never open when cranked. The second compression test after the piston change, throttle was wide open. You can hear the sound difference between tests also. That would explain why there was such a compression difference.
