  • Hello Explorers! In this video we pay a visit to Florida's first tourist attraction, Silver Springs State Park. We explore the old grounds and enjoy the nature and wildlife. We also take a glass-bottom boat tour since this is the place where they were founded. Afterwards we hopped into a Kayak and paddled down the river. We saw a lot of wildlife to say the least! Once our hour was up, we grabbed a quick bite and walked around the boardwalk. It was a good day. Come along as we show you around!

      It's one of our favorite things to do! Being underwater is like exploring a whole new world. We love bringing our kids, too. It is a good thing to get your kids into nature. Thanks for watching!

    Hi guys! Nice video on Silver Springs! We really loved that park. Surprised to see how busy it was when you were there. That's great for the park! And also the gator swimming in the water?!?! Sarah would have flipped. 😂

      They were having something called Ocali Country Days! There were a lot of people waiting to take a bus to the event. We had a lot of fun that day! The alligator wanted nothing to do with us lol. Thanks for stopping by and commenting! 🙂 Always great to hear from you!

      It really is! They are doing a ton of remodeling. We read something about swimming coming soon but not sure if it is true. That would be awesome! Lots of wildlife to see there! Thanks for watching!

    Wow, I visited the park when I was 12, I’m 45 now, and I thought this place was shutdown. I’m glad to see it’s still open.

      The state bought it years ago and turned it into a park. The glass bottom boat tours are a must. After rent a kayak or canoe and enjoy the silver river. There is more to the park but we haven't made it over to the museum and campsite. I want to rent one of their cabins one day. Thanks for watching! 🙂

    Silver Springs is a beautiful park. I've been there many times since it was in private hands. Glad that state purchased it and turned it into state park. I like it now better. Pure Florida. Great video 👍

    My daughter and I kayaked that river and it was certainly an experience. We were in a tandem and got on the river at 6am just as the sun came up. I paddled away while she snacked and drank tea. We kept having to pull over to a cypress tree so she could hold onto it and maneuver her butt end outside the kayak to pee. It was hilarious and she had a great laugh until she saw a gator that had to be 12 ft long. I guess it was a momma guarding her nest because she was pissed and did a great job scaring us away. Needless to say my daughter started paddling after that and didn't have to pee again until we were out of the water. We saw tons of gators that day as well as snakes that like to drop from the trees close to your kayak as well as a huge group of monkeys that almost had us surrounded and trapped in a cove. We got through the opening and back to the open river just in time as they were starting to close in on the trees hanging low around the exit from the cove. The tourists in the glass bottom boat seemed more interested in taking pictures of us than they were the wildlife LoL It was the most memorable kayaking trip we experienced together.

      Wow, that sounded like adventure with your daughter! It will always be a trip you both remember. Silver Springs has a lot of wildlife, that is for sure. Thanks for telling us about your experience there!

    Wow, lots of wildlife, cool! I can't tell you how many times we've lost track of time exploring and had to run to make the excursion 😆 Glad you all got there on time! We haven't done a glass bottom tour yet, looks cool! Kayaking looks fun as well except for the gators!😯😅~ Nat

      It was funny because I had just got done saying you don't ever see gators swimming in the water and then one came our way. He couldn't care less that we were there. You guys should definitely check out a glass bottom boat tour. They are fun!

      @@FloridaandBeyond 😂 about the gators! Yes, I may break down and pay for a glass bottom boat tour on this upcoming trip to Destin. I'm really curious now! Thanks for the video 🙂

    Are there public bathrooms in the twin oaks mansion behind the stage for people with vip passes to stand on stage during concerts? If they have concerts there again I’ll be there but I know if I drink 🍺 🍸🥃🍶 I’ll have to go Xd

    • @FloridaandBeyond
      @FloridaandBeyond  ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol, unfortunately, we didn't go inside the mansion. There was a bathroom when you first got into the park and there were port-a-potties on the one side of the park. I would call ahead and ask if it is something you need.

      @Amanda The only thing I could find is that the venue is close to bathrooms. I can not say if the building would be open or if they would have port-a-potties on the lawn. I am sorry I could not help.
