when watching this episode of Kingdom I love how Eunkwang instantly took them under his wing and listened to feed back. we say Chan is always the proud dad but in this instance Eunkwang was like that too. He was proud of the team work they had and it shows

I loved the fact that ALL the groups supported each other - they've all been through the same battles and respect each other - I often wish fans would do the same !
that's my thoughts too.
That's the best part of Kingdom, honestly. The way the groups love and support each other is so wholesome and beautiful, and to me, completely puts to rest this idea fandoms like to push that they are "rivals". No, they are often friends and at the least professionals who respect one another. They ALL know how hard this job is, and what they've had to do to get where they are. I love it so much.
Let’s be honest BTOB set the tone of family ship and fun. Rather than competition, it became a showcase of talents.
@@masupayookieyookie Yes, BTOB set the tone from the first ep, even before that when they had a meeting with the pd-team and they said they saw this as an opportunity to show cool stages that you otherwise wouldn't see on other stages and they wanted a family-ship instead of a competition. In the last ep, one vocalist from all groups sang a song together and they had a bts of the recording were they all, including the MC, thanked Eunkwang for working hard even bts with giving advice, support and encouragements to all. BTOB are just such a great group of people let alone talents! Anyway, it's kinda strange how I can't help but to love and support all groups from Kingdom even tho I might not stan all of them! 💙

I love that Eungkwang stepped back and gave room for the younger ones to shine and did amazing job arranging the song and supporting the boys.
The balance and harmonies were so good. All three are such talented singers.
It gets me everytime how proud and amazed skz are of Seungmin. That group is so full of love.
All 3 groups in Mayfly were down at least one member from their original lineup, so that song means a lot to the 3 who sang it.
i still remember how this stage got all the votes from the live jury making mayfly vocal team win a perfect victory (all mayfly teams won but with less difference)
This was the first time i listened to the original,, i cried, i really did. This industry lost so many souls to depression, understanding her plead to still live and count on her is just so powerful... i cant stop crying ..

@irismoon8435 since the song is about seeing the hardships of those around her, and her affirmation that she will always be there for their darkest moments, paired with the fact that a month or so before the album was released, she lost a dear friend in the industry (sulli💔), this song became especially potent and heartbreaking in it's meaning. I'm not sure if she ever explicitly said that is the meaning of the song, but many perceive it as such. It's a truly beautiful song that surely has helped many people ❤️.

Such a beautiful song all around. I'm glad you reacted to their cover and the original! As a Stay, seeing Seungmin sing his heart out so beautifully brought tears to my eyes. I remember Changbin told Seungmin in a Two Kids Room episode that he didn't cry because of the song itself, he cried because watching Seungmin sing was so touching
This is one of the most beautiful performances I have EVER seen. I love it so much. Every time I watch it, I feel emotional. It IS an IU song, and it's apparently quite difficult. But Eunkwang is an ICON. He is seriously one of the greatest singers active today, and he's so good, he's a master of his craft. Yes, he arranged the song to best showcase his younger counterparts, and then deliberately held himself in check for this performance and supported them with his own skill (with a couple of moments where he really allows his own voice and skill to shine, which are absolutely spectacular).
I LOVE how proud everyone is of these three! Ateez and Stray Kids are just bursting with it over Jongho and Seungmin. I swear, Han looks like he's about to burst into tears, he's so overcome hearing Seungmin's vocals. I absolutely love it. And you can see the other groups loving it, too. BtoB is so supportive, but out of all of them, THEY KNOW what to expect going in. Eunkwang is their lead vocalist, after all. But the other groups just looked amazed. When one of them says "for me, this is the legendary stage", they're not wrong. You can see they all feel that way. It's just an absolutely iconic performance.

Eunkwang’s vocal arrangement and line distribution of the song is perfection… he made sure the hoobaes shine vocally since in their group songs might not showcase their ability fully.

Love Poem is such a touching song by IU and I cried when I first heard this song when released since I knew what it was about even though IU didn’t say what it was about because if you know about IU, you can understand her songs. She wrote this song to help one of her best friend to comfort her when she was in very low state but she ended her life right before IU released the song and IU held back releasing the album and the concert to respect her friend and broke her heart😢
Hearing IU sing makes me think of an extraordinary singer, whose voice is still considered one of the most beautiful in all of Korea and who left us too soon: Kim Jonghyun, a member of shinee...he had written a song for IU Gloomy clock ...tomorrow is his birthday

Thank you for reacting to MAYFLY's Love Poem..this is one of the best performances on Kingdom. Jongho & Seungnim met up with Eunkwang at his office in Cube that time to talk about the song they're going to perform and to see the kind of harmony they're going to make. Eunkwang stayed up for some hours doing all the musical arrangement & line distribution..making sure that the two juniors would be able to showcase their singing abilities. That's why Stray Kids and Ateez felt so proud of their members coz it's so rare to see them doing those kinds of singing and harmonies. Yes, they are both good vocally..but these talents are not that shown with the kind of music their groups make. But with Eunkwang who is the main vocalist of a ballad/harmony group..it would be easy for him to make the right harmonies with their voices and assign them the right parts to sing and it sounded really good. All 3 from different groups..all 3 with different vocal texture but they sounded so good together,
I love all covers, which are amazing.. but nothing beats the original. IU’s music & lyrics pierces the heart and soul, & the way she sings makes me emotional.
My multi heart was thrilled during Kingdom Legendary War❤

The way Seungmin recomend to do this song makes me emotional because of the lyrics of the song and that Hyunjin's favorite singer is IU, it looks like that song was personal for him and makes it more emotional! I cried so much watching this, all those emotions i felt trough kingdom seeing my idols struggle there and then singing this song, the reactions , the respect, the vocals, everything. I stan all of kingdom groups and i know how hard each one of them struggled and i just know they all felt grateful while listening to this as much as i am. And IU 's voice? I just bursted out crying even more.

Ngl I never heard IU's version before, but reading what the chat said about why she wrote the song and seeing her sing it immediately opened the floodgates

Ohhh yesss. They are really proud of the members. Stray kids in particular, they showered seungmin with praises, since they heard seungmin sings during the rehearsal.
And bangchan… well, he always look at the members like they are really his own child. He is always, always, always, so proud of his kids.
He basically lives with the assurance that all his kids are doing well.
He can flips from being the cheeky, lovable leader, to a very serious - kinda scary person if anything happened to his kids.
Eunkwang, i mean, there is no denial of how good he is. He is basically well respected in the kpop industry.
And for ateez, sorry, i cant comment much about ateez as i dont know much about them. But I know they are really supportive of each other from watching kingdom.
Btw, have you reacted to mayfly’s rap unit? If not, please do so! They are great as well. If possible I would suggest to watch the episode where they first meet to start planning and all, because i can see how wonderful the team work is, and how good them as a composer as well, u can see how they came out with the song and all.

Yes, Yes - Eunkwang! What an amazing singer/performer/producer. All three did an amazing job. This was arranged by Eunkwang and he made sure to highlight each of the two junior singers. You should check out his songs on Immortal Songs 2 That Man and Fate with Kim Ki Tae are amazing. I also love Sohyang's version of Love Poem in addition to IU's original.

Please check out Seungkwan’s cover of Love Poem. He sang it with IU’s arrangement. His husky emotional vocals hit differently and punch you in your feels.
I think Seungmin really made it clear that although he doesn't have the power of Eunkwang and Jongho, he can really hit the tenor which always, always gets my goosebumps up. He deserves to be recognised as amongst the best kpop vocals.

This is my favourite thing to happen in K-pop. I get goosebumps every damn time I hear it. I'm sorry to IU but I think the guys actually sang it better. I'd give an important body part for them to get together and perform again 💚
To each its own...knowing that IU made this song for a struggling friend, who later on commit suicide, IU's performance is more heartfelt, especially when the focus of her performance is never about the one singing it, i.e. IU, but to the person this song is meant for. In short this is more personal in many levels and hence brought with it more emotion as compared to the covers....
If one notice, the lyrics and the song's meanings are emphasized more in IU's performance. The spotlight is not on the singer; IU dressed conservatively in a monotonous manner and her more controlled and understated singing style are deliberate as to not outshine the song's meaning and who the song is intended for ....hence, in my view IU's performance is brilliant as it is more apt and selfless....At the end of the day, it's not coincidental, many idols chose to cover IU songs, because IU and her songs inspires many...
It's not fair to compare. Both are equally sung with passion and skill, and so very heartfelt.
This sounds so beautiful. I had already heard Jungho’s amazing voice which made me start listening to Ateez, because of one of their performances where he was sitting. And after seeing this performance, I had to check out BTOB, especially once I saw someone say that the group was a fantastic vocal group. And I loved seeing Seungmin with his unique voice.

saw some in chat mentioning how Stray Kids and Ateez was missing some members but so was BTOB... Changsub was sick and Sungjae and Hyunsik was both serving . So they were mainly 3 during Kingdom when normally they are 6 (7 with Ilhoon that left about half a year before this). Kingdom was the thing that opened my eyes to BTOB and made me a Melody their talent, humor but most of all their attitude and how they were with their juniors is what made me fall for them, so sweet, supportive, humble and nice 💙

If you could check out "Bob Ross" (Han Donhgeun)'s Downpour cover on King Of Masked Singer, I think you'd love it. The song it's originally singed by IOI, yet it was composed by Woozi and it's a reminder that things we're living just last a little like a downpour. It has a similar vibe to this one but that cover just hits different. Donggeun's voice was soooo full of emotion.
3 amazing vocalists. That's why they are called one of the best in the industry. I love our Main vocalist Seungmin and from every word he sing you can feel his emotion and skills.
