- We leave the Isle of Barra and take the "very bumpy" ferry on a very wet and windy crossing to Eriskay and drive the short journey across the Island to South Uist where we stay at Kilbride Campsite. We do a little exploring and have one of the best sunsets on the tour.

Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 😃👍🏻🚐 Trev
I could almost feel the boat rocking. Lovely views from the site. Take care Gill
We loved it there. Funny how the bumpy crossing was soon forgotten the next day when the sun came out. Loved this campsite 😃👍🏻🚐 Trev
Pretty islands. Yep, we could hear the wind. Gorgeous sunset 🌅 👍😊💕
I had my microphone wrapped up with a fluffy thingey but nothing could stop that wind. It was a struggle to film and edit so I hope it didn’t spoil your viewing. The only decent sunset of the tour. It was still daylight at 11pm and dark for only 3 hours so I guess we were lucky. 😃 Trev
Just catching up after trips to Ireland and Cornwall with Hermanfest in between. We are looking to do a trip next spring to the Hebrides and your trip is given us lots of tips. Hope you are well and we can catch up soon. Phil and Helen your neighbours at Tourfest Northwest 2023😀
Ah hello again. Glad you are still motorhoming and sounds like you are having some great adventures. Ireland is on our list. Not sure when we will get around to it though. Thanks for continuing to support us, hope we meet again soon 😃👍🏻🚐 Trev n Sue
We’re both enjoying your tour. Love the little ferry’s - nice you can stay in your van. Shame about the weather at points but nice to see the sun! Some amazing scenery and drives. Enjoy the next part of your trip (or hope you have) - all the very best, David, Rachel & of course Roxy 👍❤️🐾
Thanks so much, the ferry rides were fun. At no point were we uncomfortable but no ferry was the same and this kept it interesting. The weather was hit and miss but us southerners struggle with chilly in summer. We didn’t let it get in the way of having a great tour. 🚐😃👍🏻 Trev n Sue
We've had two Campervan Holidays traveling through the Outer Hebrides which involved quite a lot of walking. Our main aim was to find several species of Wild Orchids that grow there and if you know where to look you will be rewarded with some real beauties, they range from White to Dark Pink depending on the species.
The Yellow Flowers you described were the Yellow Flag Irises which as you described grow all over the Islands. I hope you find a few orchids they're so special and beautiful.
Oh thank you for your advice. We loved the wild flowers on the islands. The whole tour was filled with natural beauty. Fabulous place 😃🚐💙 Trev
Hello Trev and Sue, wow it looked a little rough on the crossing. Nice campsite, looks a lovely sunny day , some beautiful views across to the mountains. Thank you fir sharing , take care xx Julie and Tony xx
Difficult filming and editing with heavy rain and high winds. A challenge to make myself heard on the mic above all the swooshing noise. However the sun always makes up for it even if it was chilly 😃🚐👍🏻 Trev x
Done the western isles a few times, first one was 2008 fast track fishing trip, came back the following year in a camper and again later the same trip on a motorbike. Again came back 2010 on push bikes and by far the best ever trip. Easily the most beautiful trip I’ve ever did but …, if the weather is poorly , it could have been the worst trip.
This is one of our favourite tours. The weather was mixed but more good than bad. Would love to do it again 😃🚐👍🏻 Trev
Everywhere seems so peaceful (other than the wind) - get in the pub and have a dram….🥃🤣 Whisky Galore was filmed on Barra, not too far away. Loving Sue’s technical nautical terms “every now and then, water SLOPS over the front…” 😂🤢 Thankfully the crossing wasn’t too long 🥴- lovely campsite. See you on the next one, Deb x🚐
Yes very peaceful with very little traffic on the island. Windy seems to be the norm here. Followed by rain a close second 😃 Love Sue’s descriptions sometimes 👍🏻 Wee dram was definitely on the cards and we did explore the finer side of the North Uist Distillery in our next video 👌😉😃 Trev
What a great campsite and stunning views (when the sun came out!). That crossing looked very interesting… think may have gone for a lay down in the back of the motorhome. Great VLOG both 😊 A&J
@@thetrackertravels haha yes this was the roughest crossing of all the ferries. We just happened to be there on the wrong day when the wind was a particularly strong. The campsite was very well positioned and I have to say we booked in February for and were given a fabulous pitch on the front far corner with the best views. Well done to the owners for recognising this, we highly recommend this site 😃🚐💙 Trev
Bouncy crossing looked fun 😉 but well worth the crossing by the look of it the next day 😃
See you soon 😜👍🥰
Was a wee bit bumpy to say the least. Not a long crossing thankfully and we were on dry (well rather wet) land in under an hour. 🤣👍🏻🚐 Trev
I’ve stayed at Kilbride several times and even swum in the sea there. One of my favourite campsites with good facilities and a lovely owner. Did you hear the corncrakes? I managed to see one there, a rare treat. Your vlogs of the Western isles are making me ache to return. I’ve visited most years over the last 15, but this year decided to try a different island so stayed on Coll instead.
@@lindafielding6733 Great site and yes we liked the owners, very friendly place. We heard the Corncrakes but didn’t see them. We watched the birds playing in the wild roses in the sunshine. We will also return sometime as this tour has proved to be one of our all time favourites. Thanks for your comments 😃👍🏻🚐 Trev n Sue
Nice camping place and beautiful surroundings ❤👍
Very beautiful sunset sky
@@NatureAndOther It was a lovely place to camp. Very friendly owner and a great location 😃🚐👍🏻 Trev
Thank you so much for sharing your travels, really enjoying them. 👍😃
@@TimmysFavs We appreciate you watching and taking time to comment 👍🏻🚐💙 Trev n Sue
@@PoshcatsCamping You keep uploading and I will keep watching 👍
Wow that was a rough crossing. Was it very long Trev?
And a gorgeous little campsite at Kilbride with amazing views.
Loving this trip and taking a lot of tips from it 👍👍
The ferry was a giggle. Just under an hour I think. Yes, lovely place to camp and have a fried breakfast in the cafe 😉👍🏻💙 Trev
Alittle bit rocky, but survived , do you ever collect shellfish , or are you not allowed , we watched that film, very good,Whisky Gallore, good video 😊
We don’t collect shells from the beach but Joe collected some. Some beaches have lots of them washed up. Thanks for your comments 😃🚐💙 Trev n Sue
A bumpy ride over the water yikes. I would love to camp in Scotland, I would never leave lol. xx
@@Victoria2cupsadayVlogger it’s always sad to leave Scotland 🏴 😃 Trev x
@@PoshcatsCamping It would be. I always say to my family If I get to Scotland I'm not coming back. xx
Correct me if I’m wrong but i can see a face in the first standing stone you filmed two eyes a nose and a mouth . But i had a couple a whiskeys when I viewed it 👍
Haha that made me laugh 😆 I often see pictures in clouds or rocks. Particularly if I’ve had a wee dram 🥃 😉🤣🤣 Thanks for watching & comment 👍🏻 Trev
