    I remember we used to have a turf field growing up. Soon after the NY Red Bulls moved into their new stadium they payed for our field to be renovated with artificial grass. I feel most people don’t buy the proper stud configuration because they’re not available. US soccer retailer hardly ever receive Nike AG studs. Why is that? I mean there’s more artificial fields here than natural grass.

    Fact of the matter is, in the U.S. you can’t find AG boots anywhere, in store, or online. Actually, its hard to just find a brick and mortar soccer store. Considering the fact that most fields in the U.S. are now artificial grass, cleat manufacturers and retailers have failed to meet this demand. They’re creating a very dangerous environment where most people are just using FG or Turf shoes on artificial grass.

      @@vase92 selection is very limited, and they have only started stocking AG’s recently. I see Nike has the tiempo legend elite AG, but I don’t like those cause they have the hollowed recess in the studs where turf bits or grass blades could get stuck. I prefer the solid studs of the Mizuno Neo AG pros.

    • @KeeperCharlie
      @KeeperCharlie 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@vase92 yeah but the point it isn't enough. You noticed Adidas is STILL using blade shape stude patterns on AG boots or just calling it FG/AG after making the studs shorter? stick to circular shaped studs if you wanna keep your knee and ankle intact.
      They also have not released AG version of the 2024 predator yet. Nike and Puma does a better job but your ONLY option is 260 dollar elite level cleats, and no club or academy level boots.

    Great breakdown I needed a true breakdown of AG & Turf before making my next boot purchase. Your call for warning about wearing FG boots on AG is a true call for concern I tore my ACL playing with the wrong boots on AG it may be annoying for some trying to figure out what to wear and when but it decreases the risk of those types of injury, especially for those who play the game with hard cutting style. Wish I saw this 10 months ago.

      Whats better AG or turf boots

    • @defecationzen
      @defecationzen ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Ali-rc6jz one big difference that people may not zoom in on is the fact that the turf shoes sole is typically made of softer rubber like that of running or walking shoes, vs artificial grass boots with their plastic soleplates like the sg and fg boots. one major consideration you should make to decide between tf and ag footwear is how many layers of material your playing ground has before you hit concrete. if your surface has very few layers then you should get turf shoes to protect your ankle, knee and back joints. running on a thinly layered pitch with fg or ag boots will mean your joints will be taking quite a pounding. this consideration is outside of questions concerning grip, which is what most people tend to discuss when deliberating between the different types of footwear.

      Man, I came back to this video and realized that I basically tore my ACL because of the wrong boots on the wrong surface. The U.S obviously does not care about the health of their citizens because 90% of fields are AG, but the boots sold are 80% FG.

      Well, you could have used AG boots on Synthetic grass fields as well. FG Mercurials have bladed studs which make the grip too clingy and very dangerous. If you would have used AG mercurials, that injury wouldn’t have accrued.

    Kids and teenagers can play on true turf fields without much issue aside from getting friction burns from sliding on it. Their tendons, ligaments, joints, muscles etc recover from 'wear and tear' much more quickly.
    But adults tend to start accumulating lower-leg injuries when playing on hard turf. This is why professionals just about refuse to play on it.
    Believe me, by your 30s, short-length turf fields can give you ankle tendinitis for six weeks just from playing _one_ high-intensity match on it.

    Interesting you call out the AG-pro becoming more common. Looking at the online retailers, I'm finding them very difficult if not impossible to find an AG in the Vapor elite. Lived in Germany for past two years, most clubs use Turf over AG or natural. Some still use clay but that is not common. Most players (95%) just use FG. Rarely see AG, more rare to see turf shoes unless player is injured. FG on clay is terrible. Nearly like cement.

      Well few things. First need to know pro got very fit body and strong muscle to hold their body to avoid injury. Compare to normal ppl who didn’t work out often or play often. Their body (knee) can’t afford the weight his/her body gave. But pro got lots of strong muscle to separate the weight or pressure comes from it. Also they are extremely flexible to avoid those injuries too. Place like ACL needs flexible muscle to separate the weight And this is what normal people didn’t have. Second, lots of pro team field are ACC. Which mean the field can play in lots of situations. But need big money. I think rare field we can find it in normal life. This is why we seen pro wear FG on turf. It doesn’t really matter for them

    Where I'm from, most AG football fields aren't very deep; The owners DON'T allow playing with studs, especially this one stadium that has a non-infill `braided` thread technology. This is probably because they're scared it would damage the playing surface. It is my personal favorite for the lack of pellets that would normally sneak into the shoe. Moereover, the owner specified it is easier to clean this stadium. I was surprised they clean it, actually.
    But TF shoes work just fine and grip VERY well on regular SBR infill (rubber pellets) Artificial Grass field, which is the most common atm.
    If you find yourself alternating between different playing surfaces and can't afford/don't want to spend too much, one single pair of TF boots will do.

    • @pengshang4246
      @pengshang4246 5 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      Professional players play on well maintained grass, the shock/pressure to knee and ankle might be only 1/5 that of turf/artificial grass. This is reason why professionals play and train 100 times more than amateurs, yet amateurs get more injury on knee/meniscus/ACL as you player more. while, not everyone can afford to play on well maintained grass. And if the grass is not well maintained, (like in public parks) trust me, it is even worse than turf/artificial grass.

And they blame me for selling them wrong shoes when their idiot coaches tell them wrong. 5v5 7v7 smaller turf fields and arena soccer is turf shoes with out an actual stud plate. Artificial grass cleats are turf fields that are full size and usually outside. And full sided teams. Fg is only natural grass. Indoor court and ic shoes are futsal shoes, which are on a hard court like a basketball or groomed concrete. Indoor court and turf shoes are not interchangeable. If they were they wouldn't have made both. Purpose built and designed footwear is made to be used with that in mind. Don't try and change it.

    I'm going to try using turf shoes on AG. I feel like my FG mercurials are too long for the field I play on. But I also don't want to invest in AG boots, lol.

    hi is adidas sense 1 AG red color that i got years back good for turf that has inch length with black crushed rubbers peblles no traction or long grass length. still some players says dont use it can hurt knee or ankle am not sure . got the teimpo nike turf which are ok but less traction or when is little wet floor is slippery.
