Very nice. It's gonna help a lot in my AT Teostra run. Can't count how many times the emperor stunned me with his roar before pouncing on me so hard! Thank you!

This is a tutorial that actually shows what the monster does before roaring and when to actually dodge. Thank you, I am glad I am subscribed to you, please make more advanced mhw videos.
as a fellow musician boys out there in the wild who dodge roars, i salute you, i learned (and cried) before even watching your video albeit abit late (a whole year).
This is amazing. I am self aware enough to know I will likely never be good at that and will have to putter through with ear5. But people who can do this get mad player props from me.
Also noticed about roars, there are audio tells. There are these deep, guttural, inhales to prepare the player for an incoming roar before watching the visual cues. Kinda prevalent on Bazel and Diablos .
I give you a like just because you use Pokke village theme in the end, and no, I'm not crying okay!! Good video dude, I've always wanted to know if it was possible to time the roll.

Your videos have been a god send TTATT! I will practice this knowledge~! Also, any tells for Kulve Taroth's roar? When I enter the 2nd area and she does a roar, and then a stronger(?) roar a couple seconds, I always get stunned by that roar :< I think I'm pressing it too early, but do you have any tell tips to give?
Think of Kulve's roar as a slower Dodogama. I usually time it a split second after I hear the roar sound itself because the delay is quite significant. Once Iceborne releases, I may do a Roar Reloaded content where I revisit all monsters and do their roar timings one by one.
Yes but it depends on which monsters are having a turf war. For example, a Diablos vs Black Diablos Turf War always results in a Flying Wyvern Special Roar but a Diablos vs Deviljho will result in a Flying Wyvern normal roar. But timing-wise, it should still be the same.
How do you go about practicing this? the monsters don't roar often enough during a fight to get in good practice. If the monster just kept roaring it would be the fastest way to learn these.

I mean that's neat and all. But as a lance and SnS user, my camera is literally in their chest and all I can usually see are their legs. So, It'll be impracticable for me to watch for little twitches of their pinky toe.
this is great and all, but the timing is too quick. It's like you have to know a little more than a split second if it's going to roar or not. Otherwise, you're just really waiting for the roar just so you can dodge it. If there is more indicators of when it's going to roar rather than looking for a twitching right claw, that would help a lot more.
Admittedly, this is true for brute wyvern roars because they come out very quick. But for the the other roars, they have a few seconds of windup animation that tells you something is about to come up. And mostly, monsters roar when they are about to go into rage mode or if they sustained enough damage. If you check out some of my Diablos runs in this channel, you can see that I can actually dodge the diablos roars because I know by feel and experience that certain roars come out after I've dealt enough damage on them.
So could you give some advice or tips on how to dodge the Teo and Luna roar when they have fire on their body? I don't clearly know the name of this kind of roar, but if compare with kushala is the roar and after that kushala will have have wind surround itself. For the Teo and Luna is have fire around them.
I just use earplugs, when your in the fight it's kinda hard and dangerous to just stop and pray to rng that you will Dodge it lol especially against a arch temp monsters. Awesome vid though.
You don't have time to be looking for these cues in a fight it's why I say it's rng cause your hoping and praying for it to work in the middle of a fight.
I did some testing in the past and found you only have around 7 frames (or 0.11 seconds) to react when you see the screen blur. On average, a normal human being needs at least 0.20 seconds to react, so I would say it is not a good basis for "reactive dodging" unless you are maybe a super human, haha. However, you can look at the screen blur and memorize the timing based on that. You can anticipate the blur and roll on that specific time.
