Ha, I'm a little late but have a bunch recorded to put together. I've been spending a lot of time working on the landscape channel around the pond this summer, but I have a bunch of pond filming done and ready to edit.

Great video. Showing the solar eclipse was a nice creative choice.

Thanks, we didn't get as dark here as I was hoping, but still pretty cool.

Thanks Dan. I have all of the landscape and Pumpkin videos going up on this channel now. th-cam.com/channels/SZQ7X3UP3J8uNa89KMcd3g.html I'm trying to keep the pond videos on their own.

    Cool video.
Don't forget to add water plants that will help oxygenate your pond.

Nice update. My 6 year old sat on my lap and was very interested throughout. In a way I'm glad it's only "April" as I hope it means more updates throughout the year. Speaking of treating it like an aquarium, there are very small water insects that specialise in eating algae, like Daphnia. Aquarists will grow Daphnia ponds in their backyard to feed their fish and keeping algae levels high enough is the struggle. I wonder what would happen if you grew a large culture of them and dumped them in the pond.

I'll do some reading on that. And yes, there's more coming. Filmed a lot just have been short on editing time.

    Ponds are fun!
What about lily pads? Maybe you'll get frogs?
Ahh... as I cont'd yes you have frogs. Wonderful.

I absolutely need more plants, you're right. Planning to do some planting soon.

So fun. My brother-in-law and I built one on his new land. There was a large nursery who owned a huge plot of land that backed to his yard and had a huge hidden pond in the forest with tons of monster bass in there. It was totally hidden. We knew cuz we snuck in... 😁. There was a stream that ran from that pond onto his property. It was just a small swampy puddle. He paid an excavator to dig it out. It was fantastic. Suddenly "lol" it was fully stocked with those monster bass. He also added blue gill, cat fish and 2 large grass eating carp that could not reproduce. Fun property.
