Butterflat heaven even on a seven! :) If you been on this spot we are keen to hear your experiences too! Good or bad share with us! Good winds for ya all! :)
I seriously doubt there are many 7m days at this spot, worst enemy of a kitesurfer is most definitely no wind, I was there start of September and 0 thermals, Tarifa might be harder to learn, but at least much better chance of wind and if you learn in tarifa you can kite anywhere, if you learn in a shallow water lagoon you will be like a beginner once again when going to a normal beach
@@vikingh3008 i spent there a month twice in my life. i remember cancelling lessons and going for loops on the 5 m kite :D So def there is! But you got to know the time of the year. Midseason - is the thermal, light wind, flat heaven, these Coco Luto kinda freestyle bosses are ruling the lagoon - on 14-12 m kites. but in October and early season too man we had so many sirocco wind from Africa. the strong warmish wind that even brought Sahara sand (the car was always under mega amount of dust). anyway. sorry for your bad luck! and FULLY AGREE ON THE SHALLOW TEACHING :D lol it is a kinda sandpit for kiters. some love it. but def not teaching for real conditions, and that's a minus.
been there, I was already water starting, and I perfected the upwind riding stance, there is no need to wear shoes, the bottom is of poseidonia algae very soft, you have shallow water for a very vast area, I have taken lessons from Marsala Kite and KTS, both good school, for sure the best place to start kite surfing, obviously not the best to learn upwind bodydrag but you can learn it anywhere else
yeah true you can learn it anywhere else. but would you? most people fun focused until shit hits the fan! (teaching now a decade, seen enough of this). when you start riding, you have this self confidence that you allright. with such a basic missing you are not - dangerous field!
@@EpicGust sure, I was not trying to say you can jump the chapter, and thinking it now you can learn body drag also in shallow water, maybe because it's very easy to upwind body drag in flat water... so you didn't learn it really
Nice Video guys! I din’t understand the part of the “average wind” , how much it is? You told anything about 2 different directions! There you can stand with an autocaravana?
The normal wind goes here from 12-25 knots but it is very variable. sometimes light weeks when you will need a 15-17m kite, then get ready your 7-5 m kites if you have. The best bet is to check the forecast before and take your quiver only if the wind is good for that. If you catch a lighter week, rater rent and skip the board bag fee! I recommend the Follow The Wind kite school, they are just amazing, honest and good company as well to spend windless days with! Wind direction - doesn't matter! Lagoon is doable in any direction! Offshore winds will be more gusty tho! Any other questions are welcome too!
Omg went couple years ago I was and still am a beginner lol someone transitions in front of me and tangled lines together fuck I had to walk 20mins in knee high mud to get back that was a pain in the ass but shallow water not bad
@@EpicGust yea I rented a 17m and got 1/2 an hour underpowered on the water in 1 week, Would go again but only book a couple of days before if the forecast was promising a storm, besides kitesurfing there is not much to do there, there is a void of everything including restaurants and everything else
@@vikingh3008 we had good days and i am even planning to make a vid about it, tons of footage flying high. went to 12m according to my woo. was a blast. the good thing that it is close enough and you can plan just by the wind - solid week is coming - go go go :D
Would be a nice vid if not for the ear rape every time the music jumps on... sorry, couldn't continue to watch. How difficult is it to normalize the sound on a video?
Thanks bud the comment, very true, but this boat is gone already. i focusing not to do this in the future. i found the normalize button! :) keep shredding ;)
it's TOO shallow and TOO crowded: beginner's kites all the time smashing on the water. having said that: last summer, 3 kiters died there in accidents....
Well sadly but true. The question is was it the kites/condition chose failure? Or human? Dont get me wrong Rest in Peace all three and i feel with their families with my deepest sorry. But i would have a chat with that instructor who taught them. People dont die because a place thats all what i want to say. Evaluation, risk assesment and all the other safety like checking weather change can be missed just because the spot is shallow and 'easy'. Wind picks up, you fly! Agree sometimes we had more people than comfortable, but for riders cant be a problem, there is plenty to discover.

Where is this place ?
I tried to hide it so well! So no surprise : It is Italy, Sicily, and Lo stagnone! :)

Fantastic lagoon, just a shame the wind stats are not that great, make sure to bring a massive kite
Or just rent it. Dont carry elephants around.

Two incidents were clearly due to human error.. The spot is not to blame at all!!
