I just started learning how to kite and had no clue that where I live here in Safety Bay Western Australia was one of the best places in the world to kite. Very lucky to have the pound just few minutes away , beautiful beach and consistent wind 🏝️. One day I will go back to Brazil and explore my home country 🤙.
A lot of these places seem unpleasantly crowded to me. Cape Town, the lagoons in Brazil, Hood River, Dhaka ... and many other spots. There's something to be said for the beauty of uncrowded spots.
In my opinion Zandvoort (Netherlands) is a great spot it is pretty choppy but very windy and you will be able to do your biggest jumps you ever did and occasionally some flat water. Im a 13 year old kitesurfer and I’m a local there
Here’s a bit about the Seychelles! 🇸🇨 Kitesurfing is not very common here but the locations are incredible! During the right season we have consistent strong wind blowing from the SE. The best spot is between 2 nearby islands off of Mahe. The wind blows through the gap between them, reducing wind shifts, and at the end there are some small waves going over the reef and making some smooth terrain. We have warm temperatures through the year and when the wind drops, free diving will take over your time. ⛵️
my last three kite trips were to Hood River, South Africa, and Brazil. This is a pretty solid list. If you do go to Brazil you should go MUCH farther afield than Cumbuco or Taiba. All of my favorite places were on the other side of Jeri ... Specifically, Macapa is the greatest place I have ever kited.
Yeah! I’m Brazilian and our country have some of the best place in the world for this sport! (My luck) and Cumbuco and Taiba are amazing! Also add to this list Cabo Verde - ilha de sal - near to europe e cheap
Verry nice, but You miss Clássico Beach Club at Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Wind, wave, pretty people, party, hot weather, nice sunset. Enjoying it
I totally agree with you about the fact that the best spots are hard to get to.... a top 10 must I found is Aitutaki Cook Islands. Go out every day by rib and enjoy one of the most remote and beautiful places in the world.
Hello Sam, Thank you very much for your videos, I really like them. I share your opinion of Cumbuco Brazil, close to Fortaleza, I humbly believe that there are other incredible and very accessible places that you missed, 1. Punta Chame, Republic of Panama, from December to March, the ambient temperature of water and wind is magical, ideal for kite sailing from 12 to 8 m², weighing 80 kg. Amazing scenery, a fantastic community of kiters and people. 2. Cuesta del Viento, San Juan, Republic of Argentina, preferably when it is summer, from December to March, it is 3,000 meters high, an artificial dam to stop the melting waters, after 12 noon, the wind It turns on as if someone turned it on with a switch almost on time every day. For Kites from 6 to 10 m², weight 80 kg. Positive side incredible landscapes, incredible wind and people, negative, you have to wear a 4/3 neoprene suit at least, and on my last trips the first and second day I lost them due to the change of living at sea level and moving to the height of 3,000 meters of blow height. But once in the kite, everything is great. 3. Humbly I found Cabarete fantastic in the Dominican Republic. 4. Punta del Este, the Republic of Uruguay in December and January. 5. I never was, but it is a pending task that I hope to carry out that I have wanted for many years still when I was windsurfing. HAWAII, USA. Regards. Leo
you should go to scotland. great flatwater spots and waves aswell! plus NOBODY around. there were people at the beach and they asked us what were doing there. they have never seen kitesurfers before.
Funny, watch the Australian spot from 3:41, the video is reversed, cars are driving backwards 😂 Cool video by the way, inspires me to at least check a few ones on this list.
Need to check out Bar al Hickman and Masirah in Oman, consistent wind, perfect weather and crystal clear water. Best of all though, there are never more than a handful of other kiters at any spot.
Great video!!! Not surprised to see Brazil in the top of the list. When I learned Kitesurf and started traveling around, took me couple years to realize my hometown has one of the best combo wind/waves of the world! Paracuru!!
Check out Ikarus Kite on Isla Blanca, Cancun, Mexico, and South Padre Island, Texas, USA.... South Padre Island has a very long season, warm weather and water, flat or waves, cheap lodging, food, etc.
SUMMARY: 10- Hayling island. Uk. Waves and flat. Inconsistent. 9- Dakhla, Morocco. Hoteles en el medio de la nada, y nada mas q hacer q kitear. 8- Deprano, Gracia. Flat water. Spot is small and busy with kitesurfers and windsurfers.td 7- Hood River, USA. Consistent wind, great events. Public kite park. Super expensive and busy on the summer. 6- Safety Bay, Australia. Flat water, consistent wind during summer. Expensive. 5- Cape hatteras, USA. Channels, land gaps to jump. 4- Le Morne, Mauritius. Tropical island. Consistent wind. WAVES, perfect pointbreak. Expensive. 3- Boat trip, Caribean. Being in a boat for a week, exploring, different island every day. Light wind, hidrofoil. 2- Cape town, south africa. Great waves. Biggest jumps and kiteloops. Not for beginners. 1- Brazil. Flat water. September to December. Down winders. Strong wind.
Svencele in Lithuania is a good places to kite ;) Fresh, shallow water, no sand, just soft grass, wind can come from any direction, sometimes good for freestyle, sometimes for big air, sometimes you get just 12knts, sometimes 40+. Yes it is bit hard to plan when to go, but once you get to kite there, you'd love it
Under estimated place is Blackpool in the Uk. Massive beach for fast flat water kitesurfing. Get a good 5mm neoprene and it’s like been in the Caribbean😊.
Hey Sam nice video. All of these places look really cool. Maybe I will get to some of them one day. The thing about Cape Hatteras and the Outer Banks is that they stick farther out so the wind and waves are better than the rest of the U.S East Coast
Brazil is really amazing! In Ceará, there is the city of Camocim, which has 63km of coastline and winds of 30kt where the kiteboarder can do the best donwind of his life! #kitesurfcamocim #farolpoint #avqer #camocim #avidaqueeurecomendo #vempracamocim #camocimextreme #hauletrip #camociminesquecivel
Nice video, Sam! Here in Brazil you dont need to check the forecast if you are kiting in northeast (from Rio Grande do Norte to Maranhão) july through november ( Rio Grande do Norte is as of september). If you go kiting in Rio de Janeiro, the city I live, you have check the forecast every day.
I think that dakhla deserve to be one of the 3 bests spots in the world because of the wind that is always good. Also we can find in dakhla flat spots, speed spots, wave spots and we can do some incredible down winds to the white dune for example. Good video thanks for your advise. And in brazil, is Jericoacoara the spot you’re showing in the video ?
Since nobody answered... Definitely not Jericoacoara. And definitely in Ceará state, north of Fortaleza. There's more than one spot when he shows Brazil, but all in Ceará and north of Fortaleza.
Silvaplana is also pretty impressive. It is totally in the mountains, 1800m over sea level. With a view directly to the snowy mountains and glaciers...
Wich destinations in brazil are preferable? Especially after silvester i have heared that the rea around natal should have benefits to fortaleza.. Whats your oppinion?
Corpus Christi, Texas. The windiest spot in the continental United States! We have flat water, bays, and surf year around. Wetsuit in the winter, 86 degree water in the summer.
i don't think we have the best spots but i would recommend you to try kiting in canada.. its a bit sad nobody ever comes here lol we have epic waves on both sides as well as some of the best in land lakes with wind.. any of the great lakes or even the smaller ones
You should visit Puck Bay in Poland from the side of the Hel peninsula where it blows 300 days a year and there is shallow water up to 2 km from the shore.
El Gouna on the Red Sea has to be on the list. Great flat water / bump & jump spot withe awesome wind and weather all year. Oh and Lake Garda in the summer isn't to shaby either.
Awesome video! When you hit 10k subs are you going to do a membership like Nico Prien? The feedback on member riding/jumping etc videos would be really cool.
Thanks man. Though "Brazil" is a little general to say, the size is about half europe :-) any specific place? I live in London never been to Hayleay island, here is difficult to find a combination of wind and no-rain at same time
best spots in brazil are; cumbucu, taiba, jeri, barra grande. rain normally comes with wind in the uk but who cares your getting wet anyway? would recommend checking out hayling
Where about in Brazil? It's not exactly a small place so some more detailed pointers would be great 👍 :-) Growing up windsurfing in Cape Town I can say that its an amazing spot to windsurf and I expect kitesurf. In the summer months the South Easter picks up at about 11am and blows a gale until about 5pm almost every day. If you are a beginner then you can head further north to the lagoon spot in langebaan which is also a pretty spectacular spot. The water is cold so bring a good wetsuit. Great video thanks
Jeri is awesome for nightlife but definetely not the best kite spot (you cant even kite in front of jeri). Prea is right next to it, less crowded and way better beach. The wind gets stronger as you go north from Fortaleza, thats why freestylers stay in cumbuco or taiba. Plenty of lagoons everywhere. if you think safety bay is good you should come to Noosa. best kiting in Australia for sure not as consistent as WA but a lot better in most peoples opinion. it also has a huge range of spots from flat glassy flat water to huge beach downwind and a shallow learning location. oh and its not that cheep tho its cheaper then most of europe.
@@SamLight cool which year was it if you don't mind me asking ? the river mouth there changes shape pretty much every storm season so depending on the year you can have a different experience. I've kited around there for the past 13 years. also did you go to double island point ?
Hi Sam, thanks for sharing, awesome video. I started kitesurfing around 2 years ago but I've probably only been on the water twice since then. Tarifa (Cádiz, Spain) is cheaper than Ibiza and better to do kitesurf in my opinion. The waters aren't usually as cristal clear, but the wind is pretty consistent.
Hi Sam, Congrats for this great selection of a stunning places, I am not a kiter although made me very happy to see my region on it. Thanks. Abraço. Clay - Vila Preá - Jericoacoara - Ceará
Tarifa is a good spot as well, wind almost every day during Summer and winter 🌬
yeah tarifa is absolutly awesome
Way too crowded during peak times

great list! adding Maui, Tarifa, and Cabarete
I live in Ceará, Brasil. It’s the best. Cheap, amazing wind, waves, lagoons, down wind, everything.
Have been there in Ceará, the only drawback is have to go back home someday!
A lot of these places seem unpleasantly crowded to me. Cape Town, the lagoons in Brazil, Hood River, Dhaka ... and many other spots. There's something to be said for the beauty of uncrowded spots.

Duuuuude! Nice one! Production was on point with this one! 👊🏻
Verry nice, but You miss Clássico Beach Club at Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Wind, wave, pretty people, party, hot weather, nice sunset. Enjoying it
There are some phenomenal spots in Mexico. From Baja and La Ventana to Tulum and Bucerias Mexico near PV.
Yep la ventana for sure
Yeah, the best, we live there from Nov into May but I wasn't going to mention it, getting crowded there!
Why there is no Hel Peninsula :( !? :)
I totally agree with you about the fact that the best spots are hard to get to.... a top 10 must I found is Aitutaki Cook Islands. Go out every day by rib and enjoy one of the most remote and beautiful places in the world.

you should go to scotland. great flatwater spots and waves aswell!
plus NOBODY around. there were people at the beach and they asked us what were doing there. they have never seen kitesurfers before.
Hello where in scotland , and which period ?
Thanks ,merci 🙂
beautiful! I also love La Ventana in Mexico and Huahin in Thailand.
Huahin is amazing but propably not worth top 10 in the entire world
Hua hin when do they have wind.
Was there a few times never gad decent wind.
Haha, I guess thats the only list without "Tarifa" :D (but I totally agree with you!)
Funny, watch the Australian spot from 3:41, the video is reversed, cars are driving backwards 😂
Cool video by the way, inspires me to at least check a few ones on this list.
Great video, Sam. I loved that you named a country larger than the contiguous US as a kite spot haha
Looking forward to check Mauritius out.
Definitely need to visit México! Cancún, Yucatán, La Ventana and Bucerias in Puerto Vallarta are amazing places to kitesurf
Where are the spots?
I don't want to go back to Mexico because of the cartels. Unfortunately.
Sansibar, Tarifa and Sankt Peter Ording is missing😉🤙🏼
definitely one of the best videos I´ve seen from you!!! thanks!

Hi Sam! Great video! I think you are missing Tarifa (south of Spain) it gets busy in high season, but its a great spot! and lots to do !
Hey Sam, how about Cabarete, DR? seems like it too has it all as well, waves, flat water and I think even some rails in the lagoon.

Agree with the list. I would add Namotu when there is wind and Peru (Pacasmayo and Punta Luna) for the waves
Under estimated place is Blackpool in the Uk. Massive beach for fast flat water kitesurfing. Get a good 5mm neoprene and it’s like been in the Caribbean😊.
Hood River for sure! But you missed Maui and South Padre Island Texas. Dying to go to the Cook Islands and Dahkla.
1:17 What a shame, Sam! Respect windsurfers too, they are awesome guys :)
Yeah great video but a lot of kitesurfers are ex windsurfers! I love both and don't see much conflict when I go to Avon beach or Portland.

Natal. Start there. You can go north our south for few hundred miles
You'd love Bantham in South Devon, a great place when it's ON. Mostly waves and kickers but truly one of the best in the UK.
Tarifa! Great wind and people!
Awesome! Brazil is really great.
Thank you for this video!
6:27 Taiba lagoon?
Dakhla is indeed awesome!
Great video! I think it’s Drepano, not Deprano, but never mind 😂
Was in Tatajuba - really cool place and people there!
Well done Mate👍 but in my opinion you missed one Amazing Place, with flat water and always guaranteed wind : Porto Pollo - Palau Sardinia 😎
Awesome vid mate !!!!
Paje, Zanzibar. Perfection
I knew that they drive on the left side of the roard Down Under....but do they really drive backwards too? 3:41
my top 5 ( have not been to all of these). 1. cape hatteras. 2.dahkla. 3. brazil. 4.northern peru. 5. cape town

The most entertaining sport on earth, in my view.
Come and experience mombasa beaches and shella in lamu island in kenya

Wondering if you have kited off of Watamu Kenya, or in New Caledonia? If so, curious to know where they would rank.
Los Roques in Venezuela will love it.
hello, which spots in brazil exacly would you recommend? a spot with big lagoons or flat water with onshore wind? Thx for the infos regards
Dont you like Tarifa in Spain? I heard that its pretty good, I have never seen a spot with so many kites
yes Tarifa should be on my list really
El Gouna on the Red Sea has to be on the list. Great flat water / bump & jump spot withe awesome wind and weather all year. Oh and Lake Garda in the summer isn't to shaby either.
yes!! I went kitesurfing in Ilha de Guajiru, 100% recommended, besides great kite conditions, there is amazing food and such a nice community :)
Try cuesta del viento. San juan Argentina.
Awesome video! When you hit 10k subs are you going to do a membership like Nico Prien? The feedback on member riding/jumping etc videos would be really cool.
Great video once again! Very inspiring
The best spot is where it all lines up and comes together! ........Ireland is also worth a mention
🤐🤐 let's keep the secret 🤣
yes, Ireland is the hidden gem... awesome place for kiting

Hi. Thanks for sharing your recommendations. How about Costa Rica?
if you think safety bay is good you should come to Noosa. best kiting in Australia for sure not as consistent as WA but a lot better in most peoples opinion. it also has a huge range of spots from flat glassy flat water to huge beach downwind and a shallow learning location. oh and its not that cheep tho its cheaper then most of europe.

Great video as always! I now have my Bucket list!
hey..have you ever tried it in lamu?kenya?where exactly was it in brasil?salut
It was Cumbuco, but you got great winds and flat waters in states of Ceará, Piauí and Rio Grande do Norte
Screw Cumbuco, it was the worst (least good) of the 10 places I went in Brazil. Barra Grande and Macapa are out of this world.
Perfect list 👌
But for me plus one - Tarifa 😉
What do you think of Cartagena, Colombia? It's Caribbean, but not what most people usually think of.
Hi Sam, thanks for sharing, awesome video.
I started kitesurfing around 2 years ago but I've probably only been on the water twice since then. I'm not a beginner but I can only ride upwind, transition, little hops and toeside.
I am planning a 2 week kitesurf holiday in May to advance my riding and learn some tricks. I would like some help on deciding where to go. I will either be flying from Ibiza or Bristol if that helps.
I'm looking for somewhere on a budget, happy to stay in hostels or beach huts.
Somewhere warm in May.
Consistent wind, (10m kite wind if possible, I'm 85kg).
Easy to get to, close to the beach.
Can you recommend anywhere? I was thinking about Egypt but flights are a bit expensive. Morocco, Spain, Greece?
Cheers
Mike
Tarifa (Cádiz, Spain) is cheaper than Ibiza and better to do kitesurf in my opinion. The waters aren't usually as cristal clear, but the wind is pretty consistent.
LaVentana is pretty sweet as well, but I think I’m going to have to plan for retirement in Brazil.
Great vídeo! You guys are always welcome to enjoy the winds here! Cheers!
Phy Quy Island Vietnam very strong constant wind from December to April is very cheap to stay but is bit of a mission to get to
Mui Ne - Vietnam!
A very good spot with good wind and sometimes good waves!
But a bit exhausting to get there.
Water is clear or yellow?
Hi Sam,
Congrats for this great selection of a stunning places, I am not a kiter although made me very happy to see my region on it. Thanks.
Abraço.
Clay - Vila Preá - Jericoacoara - Ceará
Great video!
You have also to go to Rodriges it's amazing ❤❤❤❤❤❤😍😍😍😍😍😍
Aruba had some cool spots:)
Do one about spots close to the EU or IN the EU, like Sicily, Spain, etc...
Sick! No.10 is the one for me
You need to come to Bahía Salinas in Costa Rica
Brazil #1 hands down! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
I was almost sure I will find Egypt on that list!
