I love that I can plug it into any regular outlet. As for how long it takes, I just plug it in at home, and unplug it before going to bed. No problem. If it bothered me, I could install a 240v outlet. And remember, this is not only an electric car--on a full tank (about 11 gallons) and a full charge, it has a range of over 600 miles! I love having gasoline and electric together.
I love my Prius Prime 2017. I charge it every time I return from daily errands, and enjoy quiet, electric driving for most trips at a cost of about $20/month for electricity. I only use gasoline for long trips.
Hi Michele, I hope you doing all right. 1- How much approxmitliy costs you to charge it per session? 2- How many miles will run after it is fully charged? and does it maintain the same promised mileage in the time of purchase? Thank you.
Why would you buy this. Here full electric cars are JUST as cheap and get more than 400 kilometers on a charge. Why waist money on a hybrid? EXPLAIN YOURSELF.
@@TobyCostaRica yes im sorry. It's waste... its just that a new generation prius is just as expensive as a 400+ kilometer ranged full EV. Charging stations are literally everywhere. So yes... hybrids are nice second hand. New EV prices dropped so much... it has no use to buy the prius anymore.
What do you all have against the Toyota Prius? It looks better than most American cars !!! The Prius is at least eco-friendly. Not like Pickups. Pickups consume too much fuel and are extremely harmful to the environment!!!
Good Evening. Two weeks ago I purchased a 2018 Prius Prime and have experienced a issue when putting the car into reverse and then pressing the brake pedal it makes like a "tok" noise and was wondering if this is normal?
Any one knows how to charge it while its running? Its huge inconvenience during winter that driver has to charge it while its off. This car shuts off the moment i plug in the power!
Lester jake Dano no it not Tesla have it owns type of charger but if you want to charge it like the pirus you need to use the adopter it kind of the same
Tesla is a full ev, super chargers use direct current to charge their large batteries.....Prime is a hybrid plug in.....battery much smaller and charges at a lower current....cannot use the super charger... only cycle one and two.....
Make the standard hybrid prius's front and rear look like the prime. Toyota is trying too hard making the prius to stand out but the design is neither impressive or a looker. The prime at least looks much better than the hideous front and rear Prius.
Wth! My Prius Prime doesn't have this function!! That's so dumb and unfair! It's ok for someone to take my charging cord because I have the lower model??
That's the point. It's EV etiquette. If someone else needs charging and your battery is full, the car should allow someone else to charge. Hogging it when you don't need it is not particularly polite.
Also, the Prime's battery is significantly smaller than other BEV's. Considering that at a public station, the battery could be charged in 50 minutes- that's relatively short compared to the hours it takes on fully electric vehicles. So this vehicle will be filling up quite quickly because of its small battery. So other people need the charge more.
@@aaronlowe3156 so toyota can do one thing the charging cable should be allowed to unplug from charging station side and kept lock on vehicle side, that will allow other user to use charging station with his own personal charging cable
@jwuhome yes, we certainly have it now. We can see reconditioned one's occasionally. People don't buy the Prime much either, as a 5 years old reconditioned Prime costs 42,000 USD after taxes in our country. The regular prius costs 37,000 USD, which is also a 5 years old reconditioned Japanese vehicle.
No? No to what? I own a Prius Prime. I drove it home from the dealer with no charge in the plug-in part of the hybrid battery pack partition. It is now sitting in my driveway with the plug-in partition fully charged. That will give me around 26 miles of electric range tomorrow. My running average is 72 mpg over close to 2K miles.
Hello. How often do you need to charge the car? I am thinking to get one. With one full charge how far the car can get you to when only use electric and when use both electric and gas. thank you!
You don't actually have to ever charge the car. I got it from the dealer with no charge. I like to keep mine charged, perhaps every other day. The range on my car, when fully charged, is 30 miles or more. The car defaults to EV mode when the plug-in partition of the battery pack still has charge. There is no limit on range - I can drive my car as far as I want as long as I can refuel, which of course is almost everywhere.
How is a car that easily gets better than 50mpg, has a range of 600 miles, and can charge the battery while driving, useless? I just bought one and respectfully disagree.

it just unlocks when you have the key in your pocket
