The Southern accent gives this review that extra level of authenticity.

Excellent video. I was told I need a 6" base. so have decided to go with the extra firm 3", then 2" firm, to a 2" talalay medium. That would give me an over all 7" base with the 8" coil support. I've seen they do make a cotton zippered cover for these on line. Would make it easier to actually slide into place. I've actually thought of cutting a packing blanket to fit to place just under the coil/cover.

Have you tested the medium Talalay directly atop the pocketed coils, without the firm Dunlop? As an average sized (6', 180lb) side/stomach sleeper, I question whether the firm Dunlop is beneficial. Eliminating it would reduce costs, reduce the weight of the mattress, and improve airflow. Thoughts?

No I haven't. Air flow I don't think is a problem. Not any I've noticed.

Which would you recommend if I were to use latex as couch cushions? I inherited a highly uncomfortable vintage sofa, and am wanting to replace the cushions.

      For cushion I'd use Dunlop

Hard mattress should I get soft or medium talalay? Side sleeper and my hip bone sticks out a bit so I need pressure relief and where can I get talalay?

I went with medium and I like it alot. But I'd say it depends on body size. I'm about 190lb . I do like more firm mattress. And depends if you are doing a topper over your old mattress or doing the whole thing like I did. I suggest watching my other videos on this. I'll try do an update on this soon.

I saw this on a website: if you weigh less than 130 pounds get a soft. If you weigh 130 to 230 get a medium. Over 230 get a firm.

Thank you I needed to be sure because of cost and there are no stores around for me to test the material. I have a place sending me samples.
I noticed you had yours over a year. And wondered if you still felt the same. Thank you.

No different from another mattress. It does absorb heat like other foams do. I have 2 pillows and they are best pillows I've ever had.

I have commented here before with another account but I am very disappointed that I ordered both soft and medium talalay toppers and both are sinking hammocking and causing a great deal of back pain and had asked where you got yours from but couldn't get an answer and now am stuck with a topper I cannot use or return. I am about 144 to 150 pounds side sleeper. Crazy because my mom has a topper and its heaven so maybe I used a bad company and dunlop was way too hard for me.

I tried an all Dunlop firm med soft from spindle and had to donate and return that as it was too hard

It's not strong and it doesn't last long. Better than poly foam with bunch of chemicals.
