i hope this is just his Loris travel or bed cage, im sure he must have a bigger outdoor aviary or veranda top cage one least 5 times the size of that travel cage with more width than height is the minimum standard required to keep a bird of an energetic species like this type happy unless he allows him on a parrot play gym for most of the day or allows free range of a bird safe room day long with a base/bed cage provided for rest, safety, privacy & sleep.. I hope they are ok, Lori looks fed :)

I own birds, including a rainbow lorrie and I'd be embarrassed if any of their cages were that filthy.

Anyone who knows about lori's know a cage can get this messy within a day. Liquid diets mean more poop.

Clipping flight feathers is humane and does not hurt them at all. Do you hurt yourself when you clip your nails? It is far better to clip those flight feathers when they grow out? Your statement is born from an awful lot of ignorance and over sensitivity. Let me tell you a story from decades ago. I used to frequent a Pet Store we had here in town and a woman had purchased an African Grey there. Well she convinced them to let her take it home with here under a signed agreement that she would pay towards the price of the bird. Well she did not lip the flight feathers and the bird flew out her back door, while she was still paying for it mind you. She had to still pay for a bird that she didn't own anymore, whom most likely died a very painful death exposed to Northern New York weather, other birds, especially raptors, etc. etc. So yeah, a little agitation clipping those flight feathers is much more humane than an agonizing death.

@BrYaNa16DuH I know, they need to be cleaned everyday and all their soield toys need to be taken out, washed and dried.they also need a variety of natural wooden twig branchs of a safe variety for perches as dowels give foot problems since they have the same width/texture all around so it hurts their feet... plus they need a floor substrate like clean paper liners as well as access to clean water at ALL times and fresh fruit and dry/wet mix... plus they need a variety of toys of all types..
