Absolutely one of my favorite shows I've seen in a long time. This show has really captured the essence of what I love so much about Fallout and I'm super stoked to watch more. How did everyone feel about the first episode? Also, check out the discription for more channel links! Gaming is still my main channel and it's linked there.
Praise AWAY this is THE BEST Game to Show ever made. Every EP is Great it never slows down. Ans its ALL CANON not some side Universe.

THE WORD IS SHELTERED NOT PRIVILEGED. Ivanka Trump is privileged,. Lucy was sheltered.
The enclave were the reminates of the US government and on the west coast they were pretty much wiped out in fallout 2(with only scattered reminates left) and on the east coast they were wiped out in fallout 3. I honestly still don't know how they showed up in this show as a major faction. However one of the writers for Vegas has said Todd Howard has a thing for the enclave (and the brotherhood) and implied they had to fight to keep them from being a major faction in New Vegas.(New Vegas takes place after 2 and 3 and about 15 years before this show). As someone who has played the games i honestly think Bethesda is using this show to bring down the level of civilization on the west coast to make it closer to the east coast that is stuck in an eternal post apocalypse. Before this show the west coast(which had been written by companies besides Bethesda) had actual nations, massive merchant companies, ranchers, some industry, and even working trains. It's level of civilization could be compared to the late 18 or very early 1900s. Somehow all of that appears to have vanished in the 15 years between Vegas and this show.
@@corneliusantonius3108 Both words work in this case, but Lucy herself uses the word privilaged. Lucy MacLean, Episode 2: "We vault dwellers recognize, uh, and are grateful for the privileged position we were born into, and..."
As an OG Fallout player (played the original back in the 90s when it was new), I'm happy to see new people coming to the fan base.
Whether that's from Fallout 3, New Vegas, Fallout 4, or the TV show, it's awesome to have more people enjoying such a unique IP.
Agree!! And I'm with you! Was like 8 years old in early 98 when I played it for the first time.
@@BigCowProductionsI played fallout 1 back in 2013-14ish when I was like 10, loved fallout since (although I think my brother had new Vegas on his computer cause I remember watching him play either 3 or NV when I was younger and I loved watching him play the game lol.)
For someone that "fell out of love with" reacting to movies/TV shows, you do it so well. And even though you've only played Fallout 4 you're still kinda flexing on some of that Fallout knowledge. I'm really looking forward to watching the rest of your reactions to this series!
Same!
Funny you mention Deadpool, Blind Al is one of the three vault committee that approved Lucy’s marriage trade.
the way I interpreted maximus crying in that scene wasn't that he felt guilty but because he was scared the knight would just like crush his head because he had no way of proving he was innocent and it felt like they'd already made up their mind anyway
i think he was feeling guilty for wanting it to happen

The Enclave were big villains in the Fallout games other than Fallout 4. The quick summary is that they're the descendants/remnants of the US government and they have their own plans which are usually terrible for everyone else.
Also, they horde tech/have higher tech than anyone else, but in a different way/for different reasons. Since they’re remnants (of a shadow splinter government specifically) that had some time to prep before the bombs fell, they stockpiled weapons and tech and had some advanced bunkers intact and operating since the bombs. If you remember the X-01 armor that Fallout 4 had or you’ve see pictures from the other games or elsewhere of power armor that looks much more advanced with much smoother curves and sort of bug-eyed helmets, that’s experimental power armor (thus the X) and it’s usually the Enclave since they were the only ones able to stockpile the limited numbers pre war. At least for a while in the games, not sure if the more recent lore has officially said anybody else had it without taking it from Enclave.
Terrible? No. For everyone else? Yes.
GOD BLESS AMERICA AND NO ONE ELSE
@@RocketSurgn_the X-01 isn’t the enclave armor, the enclave armor is the X-02, the x-01 was released in limited quantities to civilian contractors in Boston and the surrounding cities, like construction crews, according to a terminal you can find on a wrecked train with a suit of X-01, so it makes sense that you could find it out in the wild in the commonwealth.
@@1C3CR34M Hmm, do you know where that wreck is? I didn’t remember any entries like that (it has been a while since I played 4 though) and couldn’t find any reference to guaranteed X01 armors that have a terminal like that. It might have been a set scaled to your level that ended up x-01 with a terminal taking about more basic power armor types, since there is at least some civilian power armor. As far as I can find, the only mention of X01 power armor outside government, though, is the single set given to Nuka Cola from the Nuka World dlc.
@@1C3CR34M Ah, the X-02 armor was Creation Club content (so wasn’t really “canon”) until it was added in the Next Gen patch, which I didn’t realize! Haven’t had the chance to play since the update. That said, the X-02’s own lore from the terminals it’s found near specifically say it’s a more advanced version of the main Enclave power armor, that was still a prototype/not ready for full production but used in limited numbers by a special ops unit. So it isn’t the overall Enclave Power Armor they’ve been using since Fallout 2, just a limited run “elite” version.
There isn’t a “perfect canon answer” since the Fallout cannon isn’t… super consistent but X-01 fills the same niche as the Advanced Power Armor used broadly by the Enclave in Fallout 2 and New Vegas. It’s probably intended to be a prototype version of the armor eventually used by the Enclave (so sort of true that X-01 isn’t exactly “the enclave armor” in the same way the YF-22 prototype isn’t exactly the same as the production F-22) but since I think she’s only played Fallout 4 it’s as close as you get. The main Fallout 3 “Enclave Power Armor” is described as Advanced Power Armor MK2 (which also existed in Fallout 2/west coast Enclave alongside the main version), but that can’t be the X-02 since the terminal logs say it was one of “only a handful” when the Fallout 3 Enclave leader was killed.
As a fan of Fallout since Fallout 3, this series was one of the best, if not *the* best video game adaptations I've ever seen. It is... dark, comedic, heartwarming, and action-packed when needed.
You're in for a ride, Cyn.
I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again. Ella Purnell is a chameleon. To go from Jinx in Arcane to Jackie in Yellowjackets, and now to Lucy here is amazing. They are such vastly different characters in temperament and intelligence, and she manages to be believable in all of them.
She’s great as one of the co-leads in this show. Her introduction and the inciting incident that starts her off in her quest is just so well-handled.
On top of that, she’s British and has a perfect American accent. Had no idea that was the case until I saw a recent interview.
@@kc1john Yup. She did the interview with Fallon where she recalled a project when she was 15 and figuring out how to maintain her American accent. She decided to go method and just keep it up for 3 weeks. Eventually when she slipped into her natural accent, her co-star wouldn’t believe she was British because her American one was so convincing. He thought she was doing a British one as a goof. Lol
She'd be a great Elizabeth for a Bioshock adaptation.
@@Dark__Thoughts I never fancasted that before, but I believe you're right. She would dive right into the role of Elizabeth.
I love how you all assume their gender 🤦♂️
Answering your question in the least spoilering fashion:
The Enclave is what is left of the old government, consisting of high-ranking political, military, and corporate figures.
And Enclave was incorporated in to FO4 after next-gen update.
They have "Branches" all across the US and have popped up in most versions of the games (Including the next gen update for FO4).
just say play fallout 3
Ah, the whole memery of loading your companion down with the junk you don't want to carry. Maximus - Junk Lord. lol
He's really out here carrying our burdens
About fallout shelters, there's a really great documentary called "The Atomic Café" that's available on TH-cam and consists entirely of old archive footage from the 50s and 60s, when the culture of nuclear war preparedness was its peak. In one bit, they point out how the fallout shelters that were popular in the U.S. back then would be pretty useless against a nuclear blast; they wouldn't have been strong enough to protect from the resulting firestorm, and similar shelters that were around in Japan and Germany during WWII and hit with weaker bombs were known to fail and kill the residents through suffocation and incineration
That being said, the Russian underground train system was actually built to withstand a nuclear blast. It's also the premise of the Metro series.
@@noxteryn Yes, and the Russian metro was used as bomb shelters during the WW2.
After 10000 years we're back on Cyn Reacts!
Really enjoyed this show and can't wait to see your reaction to it
Nice to get the perspective of another FO4 fanatic. Thanks for sharing.
GET THAT JELLY MOULD OUT OF HERE - Best line in a TV show in the decade
There is a lot of really good writing in the show. Having seen it multiple times already, there are several lines of dialogue that make clear things we don't see until much later.
So nice to see you back to this channel! And yes, Fallout 4 is a good game! Thanks for the upload, Cyn!
Interestingly enough this series takes place in California, which is where Fallout 1 and 2 took place.
The Enclave featured most prominently in Fallout 2 and 3. They were essentially the rich elite of the government that had their own Vault to hide in. The President of the United States and the descendants of soldiers, scientists, and senators became the Enclave. They're also responsible for creating the Forced Evolutionary Virus (FEV) which created several of the Super Mutants and other mutated creatures like Centuars. They also had a hand in creating some of the Deathclaws and experimented on them. Some of them were even intelligent enough to speak, like Gorris in Fallout 2. They even experimented on their own men, creating a Super Mutant/ human hybrid in Enclave Power Armor, named Frank Horrigan, also in Fallout 2.
Nowadays they're a remnant of what they once were, suffering crippling blows in Fallout 2 and 3. While some remain, they're no longer as much of a threat.
I was NOT expecting Kyle Mclaughlin! I absolutely loved him in Twin Peaks!
He aged well.
The term "cousin stuff" gets me every time lol
There's the "Sweet Home Alabama" meme about this.
It's great to watch a reactor who is also a player of the games - there is so much love and dedication in this series and you're obviously picking up on so many of the little parts.
To your question, they didn't really play a big oart in 4 the way the did other games, but the Enclave was a secret branch of the US Government. When the radio, during the birthday scene, said that the President's whereabouts were unknown - we know from the lore that he was hiding in a bunker with his buddies at the Enclave.
Anything else you need to know you will get in epsiode 2.
If I remember right, many vaults were set to open as soon as 25 years after the war. Could have been some were shorter time periods too, but I'm not sure.
Welcome back Cyn Reacts!
Heya! Lovely to see you recognize so many easter eggs from the games! Also, I thought your voice sounded like Christine Slagman, the voice of Sofia - The Funny Fully Voiced Follower mod in Skyrim, I had to look it up cause it's almost the same voice.
"it was an ugly drape anyway." 🤣🤣🤣
I think in Fallout 76 the residents of Vault 76 came out 25 years after the bombs dropped.
Supposedly, for a lot of the props in the show, Bethesda gave the prop department and visual effects team the actual models in the games to use as templates. Some of them were even 3d printed largely as is (just format conversion). That's why they look so authentic.
This just made my week! Thank you thank you!!! So excited to watch these. When I was watching the show I literally thought to myself man it would be awesome if Cyn had reacted to this. I loved this show from start to finish and cannot wait to see your thoughts, commentary and feelings on it!!
Also I know you are a big Westworld fan like I am so I am glad that Nolan and his wife and their production studio were heavily involved in making this. You can definitely see some elements of their work in this show! I will make sure to like and comment on each to boost the algorithm!
I've seen multiple reactors say "Jump in the pool!" but in the unlikely event you're in that situation DO NOT DO THIS. Because water is much denser than air, any sort of pressure wave is enormously more powerful as it travels through water. That pressure wave would have likely shredded their internal organs if they jumped in.
Maybe I'm wrong, but doesn't the wave travel faster through denser objects? Those. If you jump into the water before the blast wave, then the wave has already passed in the water, hasn’t it?
@@beden653 no because waves in the water are caused the waves in the air
Huh this goes against what I formerly believed to be the case, I thought because the water is denser than air the blast wave of an explosion would dissipate as it hits the surface of the water, but I am in no way shape or form a physics expert so won't be too shocked to be wrong on that.
@LMarti13 The Mythbusters would disagree with your assessment:
th-cam.com/video/d9jyo-neYAU/w-d-xo.html
@@lfcmike12
In order for something to dissipate force, it has to be able to absorb kinetic energy and store it as potential energy. This is usually achieved through compression, like spring suspension systems in cars. However, water is practically incompressible. You know how bottles of water explode when you put them in the freezer? That's because water doesn't like being confined under pressure. If you try to pressurise water, the water will crash through everything in its path to avoid that. This is the principle on which all hydraulic systems are based, by the way. Even something as simple as the tap in your home, the reason it shoots water is because there is hydrostatic pressure on the other side, pushing the water out.
I grew up in the USSR in the 80s, and we had info-boards and lessons about what to do in case of a nuclear attack.
Really enjoyed this, please keep making them!!
I will! Trying to get everything to the editor now so these episodes can come out faster!
@@CynReactions Looking forward to it!
I guess they just call it The Wilds, like in the other games they have The Capitol Wastes, The Mojave Wasteland etc. Just anywhere that isn't an established Brotherhood outpost.
The Enclave is a faction in the earlier games and do have impacts on the story so in the vaguest terms, they are what remained of the pre-war US government.
I'm so glad you are back to doing reaction videos. This series is so good and I will enjoy watching your reactions and commentary. Don't stress of only having Fallout 4 knowledge, you will still enjoy the first season regardless.
Lucy is my favorite in the show and my goodness I love the actress she is by the way my new celeb crush lol. I absolutely loved her in voice acting as Jinx in Arcane as well. She also did a great job in yellowjackets as jackie. I am a very big fallout fan played basically all the games except for New Vegas and Fallout 1. But tbh all the actors did a absolute great job in the fallout series.
Can’t wait to see your reactions to the other episodes! This show was FANTASTIC
I had no idea this channel exists , but I'm so glad you're reacting to this.

"BE STRONG CHET!. ...I'm sure you have more cousins." Sounds like a convention t-shirt to me.
Glad to see you back reacting! I think I can speak for most people here that we don't mind you stopping the react content if you don't enjoy it / don't have time for it.
Some Vaults opened very soon after the Great War. Except for some heavily bombed zones, the levels of radiation didn't stay super high for as long as they thought.
FALLOUT 3, your character escapes the Vault in search of his/her father.
Yes, lots of similarities.
The Wand Company made the Pip-Boys from the show for you to actually buy with working screens and everything. They're on the Bethesda Store and some other places.
Glad to see you react to this awesome show.
Looking forward to to what comes next.
So, I watched this video about growing food post explosion. Radiation doesn't really penetrate the ground much, so supposedly all you have to really do in order to do it safely is remove several inches of topsoil and plant in that. The problem is that other radioactive dust travels, so it will blow right into your safe space. You need an enclosure, a fence at least. The better you can build this enclosure the better. I wouldn't even know what to recommend about a roof or ventilation. Anyway if vaults ever become a real thing I hope they build their own internet. I need content.
"Why does he kinda look like Ryan Reynolds?"
Uh, Deadpool, maybe? Similar complexion between the two characters.
The videogame parodies these situations, talking seriously there is no way to escape a nuclear bomb at that distance and the first sound wave would not occasionste just broken window.
39:55 Non-spoiler Enclave information: The Enclave is the name of what basically amounts to a lineage of former politicians, many specifically important scientists and high-level paramilitary personnel, and some associated corporate figures. Think of "The Enclave" in the same way you think of "the deep state" - as movers and shakers behind the curtain. So through the games you'll often hear of them referenced in the same way you heard here in the show, like some mythological pseudo-government group doing things that nobody around actually has any verification for, lol. Depending on which game, there's more or there's less meat on the bone about it.
34:29 you got : The good, the bad and the ugly....
and the series is told just the same style as that old western classic...
and(to me at least) this series feels like a love letter to the games

Stock your private vault with some tadiation suits pre-war.
I like how any German shepard type dog is just automatically Dogmeat, kind of like how Geralt from the Witcher always names his horse roach so the Character never dies
I do find it a bit odd that people rarely mention Fallout 1 or 2 as for me they were the first Fallout games I played way before Bethesda even owned the IP, but it's not really surprising that Bethesda would focus their marketing on the games they actually made. it's not like Bethesda was known for bad games either, since my first Bethesda game was Morrowind and that still holds up, if you don't mind the graphics. Fallout 1 and 2 are pre-rendered and isometric, so their graphics look decent even today, but the turn-based tactics and the user interface will be somewhat challenging for people used to the newer games.
the thing about New Vegas is that it was made by Obsidian Entertainment, which was founded by people from Black Isle Studios, which was the studio that made the first two Fallout games as well as other certified classics. while some of the people, who actually worked on the original Fallout games were part of the studio, the project lead was Josh Sawyer, who is just a lovely guy in general, and he had not worked on Fallout 1 or 2 during his time at Black Isle Studios, unless you count their version of Fallout 3 that was cancelled, but New Vegas is not based on that.
anyway the idea sort of goes that New Vegas is at least spiritually more in line with the original two Fallout games, while using the engine and some assets from Fallout 3, which was a bit more straightforward and simple in the way Oblivion had been (compare that with some of the writing in Morrowind that bordered on pure insanity). if anyone has heard of Pentiment, it is the latest game Josh Sawyer directed and that's another excellent game.
The only reason I didn't mention Fallout 1/2 is because I sadly am a graphics snob. It's probably my worst gamer trait honestly. I'd be down to watch lore breakdowns before starting 3 and New Vegas though!
@@CynReactions to be fair all of the games are pretty much independent stories set in the same world with the slight exception that the protagonist of Fallout 2 is the descendant of the protagonist of Fallout 1, but other than that there isn't much overlap in the actual story, unless you count random references or the general lore. when it comes to tone, I would say that the first two games are a tiny bit darker or bleaker in my opinion, although the same humor is definitey still there.
the first two games (and the TV show) are set around the same area in Southern California, but Fallout 3 is set in DC, New Vegas in Vegas obviously, Fallout 4 in Boston and Fallout 76 in West Virginia, so that alone sets them apart and they are also set in different time periods (2161, 2241, 2277, 2287 for Fallout 1-4, 2281 for New Vegas, 2102 for 76 and finally 2296 for the TV show with the nuclear war that precedes the post-apocalypse happening in 2077).
for similarities between them as an example most of the games start from a vault (exceptions being Fallout 2 and New Vegas) and the games usually start with a simple quest (find a new water chip, find the G.E.C.K., find your dad, find out who shot you, find your kid), which leads you to stumble upon something a lot more significant. the first two games do set up some of the lore that the later games use, but I think you can still run into explanations of the lore in the later games, albeit there can be differences due to the story evolving.
nevertheless the basic ideas about the Vaults, ghouls, advanced technology, wild and wacky stuff happening in the Wasteland, different factions (e.g. BoS, the Enclave), several enemy types (e.g. Super Mutants, Deathclaw), many items (e.g. stimpaks, power armor) and even Dogmeat as a companion among other things are already there in the original games.
I've read through some old-school let's plays (with screenshots and text) of the games, but nowadays it's easier to just watch a TH-cam video of someone explaining the lore or even read it from a wiki. those can't quite capture the different paths you could take through the games, but New Vegas should give a good idea of what that's like anyway.
The girl that plays Lucy is also Jinx's voice actress in Arcane.
the pickles should be fine, as long as he wasn't left in the barrel.
When it comes to population sizes to avoid inbreeding the MINIMUM you need to minimize the effects of inbreeding is 50 people, to avoid any kind of inbreeding you need a population of atleast 500 unrelated adult individuals- so if we assume at the very least 250 people went into each 32 and 33 then they would be set to avoid inbreeding and would probably have plenty of space aswell as each control vault houses 1000 people, In fact because of the nature of the experiment I would say these vaults probably have even bigger space and more supplies than the average control vault
Fallout 4 is also my favorite video game of all time. I played that game for 2 years 😳
I wish these Pipboys you could connect them to a Apple like the early ones.

Awesome reaction
I just started fallout 3 myself (like you up until now ive only played 4) its fun.
Ive played fallout 3, 4 and 76 and 4 is my favorite. One of my favorite games of all time actually. I dont know if I'd enjoy new vegas as much as people who played it when it was new, because fallout 3 does not really hold up in terms of gameplay. Fallout 4 is modern enough to still hold up well.
9:19 lol. That was when I liked the video.
I was real later to the fallout game. Started playing when 76 came out and its the only one ive played. I liked it. Havent played it since i got my ps5 2.5 yrs ago. Going to redownload on my ps5 once i get more storage
My thoughts: I'd expect the geiger counter to be active in the background even if the pipboy is in standby mode. Hell, I'd think that there'd be a geiger counter outside of the vault door allowing them to check for rad levels even before opening the door. In all this time, this was the first time that a member of a BoS was jealous enough to put a razor into someone's shoe? No slipping into shoes without prior assessment.
Yes! Yes! Yes! This is gonna be fun! 😉👍
The Enclave are the remnants of the US Government, formed just before the bombs fell.
I would highly suggest playing 1 and 2 (get them from GoG), then 3 and new vegas last, for the full story.
Going into this series, I never played the video game. So I have no spoilers. I figure it goes like this. You have Vault dwellers, the Brotherhood, the Enclave and everyone else from the surface (the Wilds) We've seen a Vault, and the Brotherhood, but not the Enclave or the surface, yet.
More, please?
I cannot recommend strongly enough that when you try Fallout 3 and New Vegas, you do it via the Tale of Two Wastelands mod which basically imports F3 into NV, and makes them one game.
It improves both games, by giving Fallout 3 the deeper gameplay mechanics of NV, and by making you more invested in your New Vegas character because instead of being some random Courier, they’re your Fallout 3 character, whom you should be very invested in by the time you take the train to the Mojave.
You can travel back and forth between the two games at any point, running missions concurrently, but I recommend finishing F3’s main story and some of the bigger side quests before going to New Vegas.
Oh, and your companions can travel with you, and even have homes in either wasteland.
Setting up the mod can be tricky but there’s a guide that, if you follow every single step, will walk you through it.
If someone hasn't explained already, The Show is brand new writing taking place after Fallout 4 (2287), in the timeline (2296) the latest storytelling in the series. It is not written about any of the existing games though it shares it's history. It keeps the same existing lore/cannon of all previous games (mostly). Enjoy I think Maximus did it as well. Fallout New Vegas is set in 2281.
Great reaction.
