Absolutely. If you look at the decline of NFL ratings and attendances, it began before the anthem protests. It started with the concussion and CTE news. More and more parents are preventing their kids from playing football and thus fewer and fewer people are following football.
There are no such things as "anthem protests." No one protested the anthem.
I played soccer and I can tell you there are loads of concussions that would rival tackle football. Headers and the clashing of heads during a set a play on a corner kick or a free kick from the goal keeper and two players go up for the ball there is often a clash of heads.

hey jason, played soccer, football, hockey and did a few different martial arts at least 10 years of my life. had several concussions and multiple major concussions of those several. Four came from hockey, two came from soccer, and one came from a kick in the neck. That asinine condescending comment looks stupid when research shows soccer is a top 3 sports in dangers for head injuries in the country and one of the leading sports for head injuries in the world. Furthermore....., have you ever tried to head a soccerball coming down 40 yards in the air at a high speed? guarantee you haven't.
Im getting into MLS more than the NFL. The games are shorter and its way easier and cheaper to take the kids to. I would rather my kids play Soccer than play Football. If my kids are good at soccer than they can be a field goal kicker for their schools team:)
American Football is on the wrong side of the prime curve, similar to that of aging players. Youth football will steadily decline, then there will be exponential drop. The ramifications of that will be felt quickly, not just through participation but also with the country’s sentiment toward football generally.
