    Hey Everyone!!
    I thought it was finally time to give KiKi a proper intro here on Tokyo Lens!
    Did You Know?
    I gave up on living in Japan once.
    And it was finding Shamisen music and developing a passion for it that brought me back!
    What's your passion? And where did it start?

    • @SoronQuenta
      @SoronQuenta 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I didn't know that you give up on living in Japan, although I did lost you on my radar (TH-cam) for a while; I'm glad that you find a new passion to follow.
      My passion is knowledge: anything I can learn from our world/Universe, our different cultural expression and our different languages...

    • @TokyoLens

      Thanks
      Yea I lived here for a while from 2007-2008 and then found Shamisen in 2009. The rest was a journey of discovery!
      And learning is one of the best passions you can have in life!

      @@TokyoLens I don't have any questions about it. But I enjoy their music very much Please let the Shamisen Girls know that Me: "Konkar the Badger" will introduce Their music to His crush, Tia Mason. She might like their music. And that I believe that the Shamisen Girls are very Talented Young Ladies. I look forward to seeing them play their music Live with your help.

    Hi Norm!
    I think its great that you managed to find something like the Shamisen, to keep your passion and keep you in Japan. It shows how much of an impact its had on your life. I think for me, outside of playing games, my passion would be walking in nature or getting out and about where possible. Seeing new things when possible helps build memories and brings joy.

    What a life changing „meet cute“. I always have the most interesting encounters wandering the streets being open.
    I always admire people who can focus on one passion and get really really good at it. There is always a lot happening and I am interested in too many things. But I try to keep the connection with singing. Today I have singing lessons in Jazz and on Monday in opera singing ☺️ I love singing and my dream is to sing the Jazz song „Cry me a river“ by Julie London and „Why don’t you do right“ by Amy Irving in a classy Japanese jazz bar in a fine dress, right next to a black piano and people drinking whiskey 🥃

    I've seen "Senbonzakura" by Waggaki Band, I was thrilled by their performance on shamisen and other japanese instruments but I wasn't aware of what they are playing on. Yesterday, I've been going through my music list and I've realized, that they are using this instrument there. It's quite interesting how your awareness may change how you perceive the world. Of course I'm going to check out that shamisen channel! 😀

    I like the sound of Shamisen. Thank you for bringing this group, Kiki, to my attention. Next time I come to Tokyo for a concert, I might just look them up if they have a liveshow scheduled.
    My first face-to-face encounter with a live Shamisen music is at a concert I attended in November 2016, last year. It was at Nippon Budokan, and the concert was by idol group, UPUPGIRLS(仮). The shamisen was an opening act. The reason for this is that one of their singles, 全力!Pump Up! uses a Shamisen as an intro.
    This is the official MV:
    th-cam.com/video/HKaDl8YwXTs/w-d-xo.html
    It is kinda of a fusion of Shamisen and EDM ^_^

    When you film them, can you do something about the audio quality? In some videos there's a lot of wind noise over the microphone. I really appreciate you going to the effort of sharing all their amazing talent to us. I'd just love to hear it unspoiled by recording artifacts. Thanks!

    • @TokyoLens
      @TokyoLens  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hahahahahahahaha
      Yes
      I’ll travel back in time and change my budget so that I can record with audio equipment that suits your needs specifically!
      But I need your help for you
      Just need you to send me a time machine
      You can do that right?
      You seem to know a lot of things and stuff...
      So that must also include time travel! (Right?)
      So... shall we become time travellers?
      We just have to be sure not to Change ANYTHING else...
      We could end up altering the course of history altogether
      And I really love the life I have now and wouldn’t want to give up this amazing life...
      Maybe it’s best if just You travel back in time and send me the microphone!
      Just screenshot this comment and take it back with you and show it to me.
      Unless.... do you think the screenshot would disappear since I hadn’t written it yet...
      We could be in a real pickle...
      I might need a bit of time to work out the time traveling logistics on this one.
      But for now you can go ahead and buy whichever audio quality improving device works the best in your expertise!
      Let’s talk time travel after that!

    • @bigbrowntau
      @bigbrowntau 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@TokyoLens At no point did I ask you to go back and fix the old videos. A piece of open cell foam that'd cost you 100 yen put over the microphone would fix the problem by acting as a break to the airflow around the mic. Even a pair of socks put over the mic will fix the problem! I just figure if you're wanting to post professional level videos, a bit of work on the sound quality would be great. You want to do the best possible job in presenting KiKi, right? I'm trying to help you here, not trying to abuse you.
