So glad you enjoyed watching them grow. I prefer to breed long coat with long and short coat with short but sometimes I do a long coat with a short coat. The genetics are very interesting. Babies can come out anywhere in between mom and dad. Chihuahuas are fun because there are so many variations. Long cot, short goat, double coat, apple head, dear head, and every color you can imagine. 😍

Hello, congratulations on your new sweetie pie. I’m so very happy for you and for him to have each other 😍 so if he’s 4.5 months old then likely he’s 19 or 20 weeks old. The Chihuahua weight chart goes by weeks of age and also by oz. Since he weighs 3.4 pounds, that’s about 54oz so he should grow to approximately 4.5 to 5 pounds! 🐶❤️

Hello. If you are considering breeding them I would first take your sweetie pies to a trusted veterinary to make sure they are healthy. Birthing the babies is quite risky to try it without experience so if you want to try it at home, you need to do a lot of research first. Maybe contact a local dog breeder and ask if you can come assist in some births before you try it on your own. Sometimes they can whelp the babies on their own but you absolutely have to have an emergency back up plan in case she is not able to push the babies out. Just like humans, sometimes dogs require cesarean. Make sure your vet can perform the cesarean even if she goes into labor at 3am and make sure you know the price ahead of time. They can be very expensive. Also, please keep in mind that it's very stressful if anything goes wrong. The baby must get out of the birth canal within 6 minutes or it will suffocate. If they are breech, they often take longer than 6 minutes. It's best to have someone with experience help you out. I wish you all the best.
