I too bought this Ridgid Detail Kit last year (2019) during Black Friday. Tried it at home, liked it and went back and bought another Ridgid Detail Kit for the same $20. One thing you did not mention about the black hard plastic ends on this Ridgid hose is that they unscrew. I found this very beneficial because this hose will then work with other, non-Ridgid vacuums (or at least Stanley wet/dry vacuums) and their hose ends which also unscrew.
I have this car detail kit and it works great suction has increased with this hose and you can buy adapters so it will fit any size hose. The tool attachments work great on any car. Most will not go wrong if they buy this kit. Love how this hose not tangle or kink. The best car vac kit on the market. Home Depot has them for half price now.
Another FYI, they sell a Compact/Mini attachment kit for the 1 1/4” hose, which includes various sized crevice tools that are small and thin, to get into super tight spaces. You can also use them as amazing blow-out tools, if you connect the hose to the outlet on these Vacs.
You don't really "need" this unless there's an attachment that you like or need a longer hose. It should fit with any of the shop vacs it comes with an adapter for different inlet sizes.
Nature abhors a vacuum. I don’t! I have all those same parts accumulated over the years from different size hoses. I didn’t know they even offered something like this - good to know. Also, you went from, “I have a space heater, it’s getting cold.” to walking on the concrete with bare feet. 😂
Dick Kennedy yeah HD actually sells a pretty sizable amount of accessories which is nice. I think they even have a turbo brush for the ridgid vac. Lol yeah it’s weird I’ll be freezing cold sometimes but the only part that ever sweats is my feet 😂 if I could wear flip flops to work I totally would haha! I thought someone would see that lol.
I have a vacmaster with a 2-1/2 hose but I find it’s far too bulky , I was wondering if the adapter would fit any brand shop vac cause mine has a certain locking mechanism and I’m afraid to spend $50 for a hose that won’t fit but I’d really rather not have to buy a whole new vacuum.
The locking tab probably won’t work but if it’s a standard size inlet of 2 1/2” I believe you should be able to connect it straight up up. This has a locking tab for the ridgid brand vacuums but it should still work. There’s a generic one on Amazon that has a direct 2 1/2 inch connector check this one out. How on earth does the long, black, 2 piece attachment that comes with the vacuum, attach to the upgraded hose end? Sorry for the silly question, but I honestly can't figure out how the two connect, different size connector points? Am I overlooking a adapter? Id really like to vacuum my shop floor without hurting my back, tks.
I believe you’re talking about the attachment extensions yeah, so on my vacuum it’s a 1 7/8” inlet on those unless your shop vac has the larger attachments that it came with if yours is a 2 inch that it came with then you’ll have to use an adapter. My extensions hooked right up. If you can measure the inside diameter of the connectors and the inside diameter of the hose you should be able to tell what adapter you need and to which size. Hope that helps!
I'll be getting a bigger Ridgid at some point, I've had this one for like 10 years and it just won't die lol. A testament to how well these things are really built. This one only has something like a 7 amp motor, the newer ones are 12. Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@arielalexandermontilla9780 oh that's interesting I haven't had that happen, my guess is there's something that's causing that sound to resonate maybe like a filter or something that might be partially clogged or something, some turbulent air stream making the sound, hard to diagnose, different attachments on the end make any difference to the sound?
@@arielalexandermontilla9780 yeah my guess is that it just has more restriction because it's a smaller diameter hose, also the longer the hose you get the less airflow you get at the nozzle end as well just by the way physics works with how much air can physically move through.
I bought the HD14000 that includes the car kit and hose....I want to use the car hose with my Surf Prep Ray sander, I don't know what connection to get! I don't know if the Ridgid is 1.25" or 1 7/8ths. Surf Prep is 1".
The connector end of the hose that you hook up attachments to is 1 1/4” so you’ll need a 1 1/4” to 1” adapter for smaller things like sanders. The end of the hose that connects to the vacuum is 1 7/8”. Hope that helps! You can get universal tool adapters as well like seen in the video. It has a tapered end that will fit the smallest connections.
I have this kit with a similar Rigid Shopvac. The only complaint I have is that you can’t connect the two hoses. That would have been very very convenient

My plastic hose has been chewed up by my dog's & run over a few times & still works, + my vacuum is 20+ yrs old & even rip the electrical cord in half getting caught around the vehicle & backing out 🤦 but still kicking strong AF 💪 my vacuum is so old it doesn't even have the inlet in the tub it's in the top half of the vacuum going into the lid. So I probably need an upgrade 😂
Did you find a way to adapt the 2 hoses? I’d like to have the original hose at the vacuum and the premium hose attached to the end of the original hose. Hoping to mount my vac in one location and extra length to get around with the hose.
You could use one of those universe shop vac tool adapters, it's like a cone shaped attachment that fits any size hose. Ended up not doing that though because it lost too much power with too long of a hose.
Just an FYI, the orange hose is actually a 3-layer hose I believe, u like the regular single layer, which both makes it more crush/kink proof, but also more flexible. They do sell a Ridgid 1-7/8”, “Pro” orange 3-layer hose, at Home Depot that’s longer (not sure if it’s 10’ or 20’, can’t remember) which also fits all their Ridgid Shop Vacs (not sure if it comes fits, or comes with adapters for the 2 1/2” inlet Vacs, or if you need to buy one separately).
Ridgid has several different models of shop vac that have different inlet sizes, some are 2 1/2”, some are 1 7/8”. But this should work with any model you have since it comes with the proper adapter to attach. Even works with other brands of shop vacs. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!
I’m trying to find out if this hose is a lot better than the one that comes with the Vacmaster Beast Portable vac because that one says it comes with a premium hose.
I ended up returning this hose, the connection between the plastic where the attachments connect to actually ripped a hole in it without much abuse even, the original hose never had this problem.
@@DIYDad1 I just ordered the vacmaster beast. Maybe I’ll just order the thin flex crevice tool separately. That’s the only tool I’d really use. Vacmaster already has a claw
They have 2 sizes of that orange hose now, 1/78 and 1/14, but it gets restricted as soon as you put on that nozzle, I went with the 14 gallon with 2/12 inch hose and put 2 together, and use the bigger crevis tool, the bigger tools have much more air flow, of course the hose is bulky.
That sounds like a good way to go, yep simple physics really the narrower hose you go, and the longer you go, the more air resistance you create, resulting in less airflow and less suction. That's cool that they have a slightly larger hose diameter now, that should help at least a little bit!

This should work with an adapter. The original attachments are 1 7/8” inlet this hose is 1 1/4”. Slightly smaller diameter but with an adapter it should work. I’m not sure what the vacmaster inlet size is, it’s probably similar size inlet so I think it should work with the vacmaster as well. That’s a good vacuum!

@@ludovikopeluche8448 yeah I can’t say for certain without looking at both lol. But the connections are all pretty much universal just a few different sizes. The ridgid hose kit comes with a couple of adapters that you can try and make it work. Otherwise if the included adapters don’t work there’s some “universal” adapters that have a taper to them and should fit just about any size. You’ll find those on the shelf in HD right next to the other vac accessories. I found some info on Amazon. The rigid has a clip insert at the base and the vacmaster has a threaded base so that won't work unless I jam the orange rigid hose into the vacmaster and tape it vigorously in place! Or cut and/or find a way to switch out the base clips I'll make it work somehow. Thank you for your time!
It can definitely work as one, although it’s not really a dedicated liquid extraction nozzle it’s a little bit larger opening so it’s more meant for vacuuming large areas like seats and trunks but it can definitely work to pull water up a lot better than the narrower nozzles. It’s probably the best “non extractor” nozzle for that purpose actually if that makes sense lol. Can do the job but not like the ones you get on an actual extractor if that makes sense?

Dontay Smith I would think so, since it includes the adapters for different sizes. The hose I have on my ridgid is also 1 7/8” so I would think it should work but I haven’t tested it. If you get it let me know how it works out for you! Luckily Home Depot has a very good return policy if it doesn’t work but I think you should be okay there’s only like 3 or 4 different size hoses out there I think you should be fine. Yeah! I did as well! Glad I'm not the only one to notice a decrease in suction. It sucks! (Pun intended) lol! But seriously I researched and got my ridged because it had the most suction ! I use my vac to suck the water out of carpets and seats ,so actually losing suction with this supposed upgrade is disappointing!

I’ve never used the extractor want before but if I’m thinking of the right item it has kind of a tapered connector for the hose and an inlet port for water hookup. Not sure if it can directly adapt to the vacuum hose like this without an adapter. It’s 1 1/4” if I am thinking correctly about the right product that you speak of but I’m not entirely familiar with it. Maybe look on their website and see if they have a manual or guide? Sorry I wish I had the answer for you I’ve never used that before!
@@DIYDad1 actually I think I figured it out from a video. Supposedly you can unscrew off the part where the nob is at for attaching all of the accessories. It's that little plastic nob thing that you slide your attachments on then put the new adapter which is what the Extraction head piece is on.
It should be able to since it comes with an adapter. You might need an adapter reducer depending on what size opening yours has. Mine shown here is a 1 7/8” hose, most common sizes are 1 1/4” and 2, and 2.5” hoses. I believe this should adapt to most of those using the included adapter. Hope that helps!
It has a bit of a swivel on it so the hose should spin inside the plastic connector. So as you’re working it doesn’t get bunched up and twisted. You can try and spin it around yourself. Give it a bit of a tug as long as it all seems to be coupled together properly it shouldn’t fall apart lol. But they do occasionally have some QC issues. As long as there’s no air leaking by the connector you should be good.
@@leonprogamer1217 that’s a pretty decent vacuum that you have so that should work just fine with this kit. Of course if you don’t like it Home Depot always has a good return policy as well. The next best thing would probably be something on Amazon but sight unseen sometimes it’s tough to judge quality until you receive it. Good luck let me know how it works out!
The hose diameter downsize before attachments is to increase the suction and efficiency. The larger the diameter, the lesser the suction and vice versa.
That depends on the size on the inlet on the Milwaukee vacuum. I couldn’t find the hose size anywhere on the product specs on their website unfortunately but just looking at a glance it looks like they should be just a standard 1 1-4” hose size so it should work. If not, you can find a reducer coupler that can adapt the attachments to fit properly with a coupler. I wouldn’t use a 10 foot hose on a cordless portable vacuum however. The power losses will be too great and it won’t perform very well. But if you just use the attachments it should be just fine. Hope that helps!

I wouldn’t recommend using a super long hose like this with a smaller less powerful cordless vacuum like that since you would lose too much power the longer the hose is. But you should be able to use other attachments like this with an adapter to fit the right size. Measure the inside diameter of the hose for your cordless vacuum and see what size attachments they take. It’s probably 1 1/4” hose is my guess. Then you should be able to get the ridgid attachments individually and just get the ones you want at gone depot or online. Hope that helps!

Amazon has the longer flexible crevice tool I think will work for $14.20 I think a longer, thinner flexible crevice tool should be included with all vacuums. Especially essential for vacuuming automobile interiors. You really think a 10 foot hose extension wouldn't give much suction power? Maybe true, but sometimes some suction no matter how little is better than none. 🤔 thanks
@@Hundert1 even with my ridgid 3HP shop vac I still seemed to lose a little bit of suction power with a longer hose, just how physics works, with more resistance of the air with a longer hose. It’s not drastic but definitely noticeable. Less noticeable with a more powerful vacuum though. You could always try it out and see how it works for you, Home Depot has a 90 day return policy if you don’t like it. But yeah I totally agree everyone needs an extra long extended crevice tool! They are great! I believe Home Depot and Lowe’s has a section with all sorts of attachments to choose from in their store and a whole bunch of accessories that you might find useful if you can’t find what you’re looking for on amazon. If you find something that’s 1 1/4” it should fit perfectly. If it’s the wrong size you could also use a universal adapter to make other attachments fit as well.

Although I haven’t personally tested it I believe it should work as long as the vacmaster doesn’t have any sort of proprietary locking hose or anything like that. From what I’ve seen they all use 1 7/8” diameter hose so it’s the same size hose as my ridgid actually. So it should work. You might need an adapter otherwise if it doesn’t completely match up. You can get universal hose adapters that should fit any size inlet port. Hope that helps!

That would help me when cleaning the cabin in my boat without hauling the big, heavy, noisy shop vac into the small cabin. I saw in your video it does not work that way. @@DougAlesUSA yeah you could probably do it with the right adapters to make it work, the kit has some adapters but not all the right ones depending on the size of your existing attachments and the hose you have already. As the hose gets longer, you lose power power, just the physics of how vacuums work. More air resistance.
This is a good comment, I’ve heard that from people before and one thing that I’ve seen detailers do is drag the nozzle along the concrete a few times to “dull” and round off the sharp edges. I did that with my crevice nozzle and the plastic is all smooth now. Give that a try!

The kit doesn't come with instructions; so you are obviously expected to figure it out for yourself. Ridgid should pay more attention to adabtability; as you mentioned in your review. I like the 10' hose, I don't know why their standard hose is so short. Good review.
Yep absolutely! If you have two different size hoses you can connect the 1 7/8” hose up to the 1 1/4”. If your existing hose is of a different size you should be able to use the adapter that comes with it and make it connect. Unless you have some really weird size hose that isn’t standard then it should work but even then, you can get a universal fit adapter that can fit any size hose just in case. It looks like a step-down drill bit sort of except it’s a vacuum hose adapter.

Jamie yeah if you have an older or weaker vacuum you lose a bit of suction power with a longer hose, basic physics really. More powerful vacuum it’s less noticeable. With this you are trading just a bit of performance for convenience of the longer hose. Once I used it a couple more times I really enjoyed the extra attachments this kit came with and for that alone I think it was worth it.
DIY Dad nice dude! I just picked up a 16 gallon 6.5 from work, they were going to get rid of it simply because it was dirty and had lots of old debris on the bottom and didn't have a hose. Just needs some TLC. Looking to get a new hose and drain plug for it today, just seeing what's out there. Thanks for the reply and video
Jamie oh that 6.5 hp ridgid is a beast of a shop vac it should have no problem with this hose! I think the one in the video that I have is like 3.5 hp rating, 7.5 amps at 120volt. I think the 6.5 is I remember is like 11.5 amps or even higher. The 16 gallon has a larger intake hole diameter so you need to use the adapter this kit comes with. For auto detailing, sucking up water, light dust and debris it’s great for that. If you are using it for shop duty sucking up larger particles like chunks of wood, screws, nails, etc then I would go with a larger diameter hose. Less likely to clog that way.
DIY Dad I ended up picking up the auto detailing kit today and returned it for the 2.5, 7 foot hose along with some 2.5 to either 1-1/4 or 1-7/8 attachment adapters The smaller hose def cause it to have lower suction power and made an annoying high pitch whistle tone

AlergicToSnow I actually ended up returning this because the narrower hose actually lost too much suction. I was on the fence about returning it anyway and then I went to use it one more time and the hose actually ripped! Never had that happen before on a shop vac hose. Mine might have been a bad one but I still think there’s some value here having a longer and thinner diameter hose provided that you have a powerful enough vacuum to overcome the limitations.
DIY Dad after using mine for a year, I don’t agree. I have the 5 hp 4070 and it works just fine. Actually I’m quite impressed with it for detailing my car. It gets the dog hair and stray French Fries just fine. I only need the larger hose when I’m sucking up bigger stuff, like my garage floor or hooking up to my router table and table saw.
AlergicToSnow that’s good advice. Yeah I think regular old dirt and dust it’s just fine for that stuff I always have trouble vacuuming dog hair so maybe that’s why I like more power lol.

Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.
I use the size 1 and 1/0 Mustad hooks to freeline for snook th-cam.com/users/postUgkxzXmlErSqVAEGWFEKO530BvTqFDw53QW3 and they have been fantastic. The points are super sharp, and the hook is small enough to blend with my baitfish, yet large enough to land fish 30" or more. I also use these hooks when I'm pier or surf fishing with my kids. They tend to catch tons of smaller snapper, whiting, and catfish, and we get far fewer gut hooks with these Mustad in-lines, which means more of them survive after release. I was actually using these hooks when I caught my friend too, but I think that had more to do with the bait I was using ;-)

Id really like to vacuum my shop floor without hurting my back, tks.
I believe you’re talking about the attachment extensions yeah, so on my vacuum it’s a 1 7/8” inlet on those unless your shop vac has the larger attachments that it came with if yours is a 2 inch that it came with then you’ll have to use an adapter. My extensions hooked right up. If you can measure the inside diameter of the connectors and the inside diameter of the hose you should be able to tell what adapter you need and to which size. Hope that helps!
If you're having problems with suction, get the more powerful RIDGID. Works much better, but it is very noisy. I wear earplugs.
I'll be getting a bigger Ridgid at some point, I've had this one for like 10 years and it just won't die lol. A testament to how well these things are really built. This one only has something like a 7 amp motor, the newer ones are 12. Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@arielalexandermontilla9780 oh that's interesting I haven't had that happen, my guess is there's something that's causing that sound to resonate maybe like a filter or something that might be partially clogged or something, some turbulent air stream making the sound, hard to diagnose, different attachments on the end make any difference to the sound?
@@DIYDad1 Yes, it's just the Ridgid hose kit, safe because it's thinner than the one the vacuum cleaner originally produces.
@@arielalexandermontilla9780 yeah my guess is that it just has more restriction because it's a smaller diameter hose, also the longer the hose you get the less airflow you get at the nozzle end as well just by the way physics works with how much air can physically move through.

I bought the HD14000 that includes the car kit and hose....I want to use the car hose with my Surf Prep Ray sander, I don't know what connection to get! I don't know if the Ridgid is 1.25" or 1 7/8ths. Surf Prep is 1".
The connector end of the hose that you hook up attachments to is 1 1/4” so you’ll need a 1 1/4” to 1” adapter for smaller things like sanders. The end of the hose that connects to the vacuum is 1 7/8”. Hope that helps! You can get universal tool adapters as well like seen in the video. It has a tapered end that will fit the smallest connections.

I have this kit with a similar Rigid Shopvac. The only complaint I have is that you can’t connect the two hoses. That would have been very very convenient

My plastic hose has been chewed up by my dog's & run over a few times & still works, + my vacuum is 20+ yrs old & even rip the electrical cord in half getting caught around the vehicle & backing out 🤦 but still kicking strong AF 💪 my vacuum is so old it doesn't even have the inlet in the tub it's in the top half of the vacuum going into the lid. So I probably need an upgrade 😂

Did you find a way to adapt the 2 hoses? I’d like to have the original hose at the vacuum and the premium hose attached to the end of the original hose. Hoping to mount my vac in one location and extra length to get around with the hose.
You could use one of those universe shop vac tool adapters, it's like a cone shaped attachment that fits any size hose. Ended up not doing that though because it lost too much power with too long of a hose.

Just an FYI, the orange hose is actually a 3-layer hose I believe, u like the regular single layer, which both makes it more crush/kink proof, but also more flexible. They do sell a Ridgid 1-7/8”, “Pro” orange 3-layer hose, at Home Depot that’s longer (not sure if it’s 10’ or 20’, can’t remember) which also fits all their Ridgid Shop Vacs (not sure if it comes fits, or comes with adapters for the 2 1/2” inlet Vacs, or if you need to buy one separately).

Are these attachments universal..does it fit to every size of gallons?cause i have a 6gallons
Ridgid has several different models of shop vac that have different inlet sizes, some are 2 1/2”, some are 1 7/8”. But this should work with any model you have since it comes with the proper adapter to attach. Even works with other brands of shop vacs. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

I’m trying to find out if this hose is a lot better than the one that comes with the Vacmaster Beast Portable vac because that one says it comes with a premium hose.
I ended up returning this hose, the connection between the plastic where the attachments connect to actually ripped a hole in it without much abuse even, the original hose never had this problem.
@@DIYDad1 I just ordered the vacmaster beast. Maybe I’ll just order the thin flex crevice tool separately. That’s the only tool I’d really use. Vacmaster already has a claw
They have 2 sizes of that orange hose now, 1/78 and 1/14, but it gets restricted as soon as you put on that nozzle, I went with the 14 gallon with 2/12 inch hose and put 2 together, and use the bigger crevis tool, the bigger tools have much more air flow, of course the hose is bulky.
That sounds like a good way to go, yep simple physics really the narrower hose you go, and the longer you go, the more air resistance you create, resulting in less airflow and less suction. That's cool that they have a slightly larger hose diameter now, that should help at least a little bit!
I added a 20" length of 1-1/4" wand to this kit to add some grip space for jobs like ceiling fans.

This should work with an adapter. The original attachments are 1 7/8” inlet this hose is 1 1/4”. Slightly smaller diameter but with an adapter it should work. I’m not sure what the vacmaster inlet size is, it’s probably similar size inlet so I think it should work with the vacmaster as well. That’s a good vacuum!
@@DIYDad1 both the vacmaster and rigid website description say 1-7/8 hose for both but I don't know if that means the inlet is the same size.
I would prefer the vacmaster for extra power but want to find an easy way to upgrade the hose to something like the rigid accessory kit.

@@ludovikopeluche8448 yeah I can’t say for certain without looking at both lol. But the connections are all pretty much universal just a few different sizes. The ridgid hose kit comes with a couple of adapters that you can try and make it work. Otherwise if the included adapters don’t work there’s some “universal” adapters that have a taper to them and should fit just about any size. You’ll find those on the shelf in HD right next to the other vac accessories. I found some info on Amazon. The rigid has a clip insert at the base and the vacmaster has a threaded base so that won't work unless I jam the orange rigid hose into the vacmaster and tape it vigorously in place! Or cut and/or find a way to switch out the base clips

Is that angular attachment an extractor? As in pull water from seats?
It can definitely work as one, although it’s not really a dedicated liquid extraction nozzle it’s a little bit larger opening so it’s more meant for vacuuming large areas like seats and trunks but it can definitely work to pull water up a lot better than the narrower nozzles. It’s probably the best “non extractor” nozzle for that purpose actually if that makes sense lol. Can do the job but not like the ones you get on an actual extractor if that makes sense?
You can buy an extractor head from Amazon that you can make fit this hose

Dontay Smith I would think so, since it includes the adapters for different sizes. The hose I have on my ridgid is also 1 7/8” so I would think it should work but I haven’t tested it. Luckily Home Depot has a very good return policy if it doesn’t work but I think you should be okay there’s only like 3 or 4 different size hoses out there I think you should be fine. Yeah! I did as well! Glad I'm not the only one to notice a decrease in suction. It sucks! (Pun intended) lol! But seriously I researched and got my ridged because it had the most suction ! I use my vac to suck the water out of carpets and seats ,so actually losing suction with this supposed upgrade is disappointing!

Just got this and love it. How do you install the happy tree extractor wand on it. Can't figure how to install it to the hose.
I’ve never used the extractor want before but if I’m thinking of the right item it has kind of a tapered connector for the hose and an inlet port for water hookup. Not sure if it can directly adapt to the vacuum hose like this without an adapter. It’s 1 1/4” if I am thinking correctly about the right product that you speak of but I’m not entirely familiar with it. Maybe look on their website and see if they have a manual or guide? Sorry I wish I had the answer for you I’ve never used that before!

@@DIYDad1 actually I think I figured it out from a video. Supposedly you can unscrew off the part where the nob is at for attaching all of the accessories. It's that little plastic nob thing that you slide your attachments on then put the new adapter which is what the Extraction head piece is on.

It should be able to since it comes with an adapter. You might need an adapter reducer depending on what size opening yours has. Mine shown here is a 1 7/8” hose, most common sizes are 1 1/4” and 2, and 2.5” hoses. I believe this should adapt to most of those using the included adapter. Hope that helps!
Most shop vacs use 2.5in inlets, although the hose sizes are all over the place
Hey is the orange hose supposed to spin at the inlet or is mines just broken
It has a bit of a swivel on it so the hose should spin inside the plastic connector. So as you’re working it doesn’t get bunched up and twisted. You can try and spin it around yourself. Give it a bit of a tug as long as it all seems to be coupled together properly it shouldn’t fall apart lol. But they do occasionally have some QC issues. As long as there’s no air leaking by the connector you should be good.

Jo Jo I believe you can. Most sanders will use 1 1/4” hose attachment so I believe it should fit. Depends on the sander but you might need an adapter.

The hose diameter downsize before attachments is to increase the suction and efficiency. The larger the diameter, the lesser the suction and vice versa.
Will the attachments fit a milwuakee compact vacuum
That depends on the size on the inlet on the Milwaukee vacuum. I couldn’t find the hose size anywhere on the product specs on their website unfortunately but just looking at a glance it looks like they should be just a standard 1 1-4” hose size so it should work. If not, you can find a reducer coupler that can adapt the attachments to fit properly with a coupler. I wouldn’t use a 10 foot hose on a cordless portable vacuum however. The power losses will be too great and it won’t perform very well. But if you just use the attachments it should be just fine. Hope that helps!
You wouldn't want to lengthen the hose beyond 10'. Static pressure will decrease suction strength.
Oh yeah you’re absolutely right. Even with this linger hose already I could see a big drop. It’s doable sure, but not recommended.

Is there an automobile detail kjt available for the Ryobi three gallon cordless shop vac?
I wouldn’t recommend using a super long hose like this with a smaller less powerful cordless vacuum like that since you would lose too much power the longer the hose is. But you should be able to use other attachments like this with an adapter to fit the right size. Measure the inside diameter of the hose for your cordless vacuum and see what size attachments they take. It’s probably 1 1/4” hose is my guess. Then you should be able to get the ridgid attachments individually and just get the ones you want at gone depot or online. Hope that helps!

Amazon has the longer flexible crevice tool I think will work for $14.20 I think a longer, thinner flexible crevice tool should be included with all vacuums. Especially essential for vacuuming automobile interiors. You really think a 10 foot hose extension wouldn't give much suction power? Maybe true, but sometimes some suction no matter how little is better than none. 🤔 thanks
@@Hundert1 even with my ridgid 3HP shop vac I still seemed to lose a little bit of suction power with a longer hose, just how physics works, with more resistance of the air with a longer hose. It’s not drastic but definitely noticeable. Less noticeable with a more powerful vacuum though. You could always try it out and see how it works for you, Home Depot has a 90 day return policy if you don’t like it. But yeah I totally agree everyone needs an extra long extended crevice tool! They are great! I believe Home Depot and Lowe’s has a section with all sorts of attachments to choose from in their store and a whole bunch of accessories that you might find useful if you can’t find what you’re looking for on amazon. If you find something that’s 1 1/4” it should fit perfectly. If it’s the wrong size you could also use a universal adapter to make other attachments fit as well.
@@DIYDad1 sounds good, yep, Home Depot is very good about returns for me also. Unfortunately Home Depot got caught selling refurbished EGO power tools as brand new so EGO dropped them as a dealer. Does this work on a vac master beast ?
Although I haven’t personally tested it I believe it should work as long as the vacmaster doesn’t have any sort of proprietary locking hose or anything like that. From what I’ve seen they all use 1 7/8” diameter hose so it’s the same size hose as my ridgid actually. So it should work. You might need an adapter otherwise if it doesn’t completely match up. You can get universal hose adapters that should fit any size inlet port. Hope that helps!

@@DIYDad1 just some examples of what I learned form your video. I assumed I could connect the two hoses to make one long hose. That would help me when cleaning the cabin in my boat without hauling the big, heavy, noisy shop vac into the small cabin. I saw in your video it does not work that way. Also, I assumed all attachments would work on either hose. Seems silly to me thats not the case.

@@DougAlesUSA yeah you could probably do it with the right adapters to make it work, the kit has some adapters but not all the right ones depending on the size of your existing attachments and the hose you have already. As the hose gets longer, you lose power power, just the physics of how vacuums work. More air resistance.
The nozzles scratch leather interiors.
This is a good comment, I’ve heard that from people before and one thing that I’ve seen detailers do is drag the nozzle along the concrete a few times to “dull” and round off the sharp edges. I did that with my crevice nozzle and the plastic is all smooth now. Give that a try!
If you happen to have sand paper around, it will allow you to pinpoint and remove any sharp edges.
Don't discard the black hose you use the black hose 4 water and you see Orange hose for dry

Yeah cuz you can keep one for dry blow it out an air compressor keep one for what blowing up with the hose hanging over a fence let it dry
The kit doesn't come with instructions; so you are obviously expected to figure it out for yourself. Ridgid should pay more attention to adabtability; as you mentioned in your review. I like the 10' hose, I don't know why their standard hose is so short. Good review.

Can you connect the two together
Yep absolutely! If you have two different size hoses you can connect the 1 7/8” hose up to the 1 1/4”. If your existing hose is of a different size you should be able to use the adapter that comes with it and make it connect. Unless you have some really weird size hose that isn’t standard then it should work but even then, you can get a universal fit adapter that can fit any size hose just in case. It looks like a step-down drill bit sort of except it’s a vacuum hose adapter.

Mark J yeah the standard 7 foot hose that came with mine kinks a lot as well kind of wish it had a swivel neck on it or something to help prevent it.

Jamie yeah if you have an older or weaker vacuum you lose a bit of suction power with a longer hose, basic physics really. More powerful vacuum it’s less noticeable. With this you are trading just a bit of performance for convenience of the longer hose. Once I used it a couple more times I really enjoyed the extra attachments this kit came with and for that alone I think it was worth it.
DIY Dad nice dude! I just picked up a 16 gallon 6.5 from work, they were going to get rid of it simply because it was dirty and had lots of old debris on the bottom and didn't have a hose. Just needs some TLC. Looking to get a new hose and drain plug for it today, just seeing what's out there. Thanks for the reply and video
Jamie oh that 6.5 hp ridgid is a beast of a shop vac it should have no problem with this hose! I think the one in the video that I have is like 3.5 hp rating, 7.5 amps at 120volt. I think the 6.5 is I remember is like 11.5 amps or even higher. The 16 gallon has a larger intake hole diameter so you need to use the adapter this kit comes with. For auto detailing, sucking up water, light dust and debris it’s great for that. If you are using it for shop duty sucking up larger particles like chunks of wood, screws, nails, etc then I would go with a larger diameter hose. Less likely to clog that way.
DIY Dad I ended up picking up the auto detailing kit today and returned it for the 2.5, 7 foot hose along with some 2.5 to either 1-1/4 or 1-7/8 attachment adapters
The smaller hose def cause it to have lower suction power and made an annoying high pitch whistle tone

Seriously. Try using it and you’ll see the value of the narrower hose. Dumb review by criticizing just by looking at it.
AlergicToSnow I actually ended up returning this because the narrower hose actually lost too much suction. I was on the fence about returning it anyway and then I went to use it one more time and the hose actually ripped! Never had that happen before on a shop vac hose. Mine might have been a bad one but I still think there’s some value here having a longer and thinner diameter hose provided that you have a powerful enough vacuum to overcome the limitations.
DIY Dad after using mine for a year, I don’t agree. I have the 5 hp 4070 and it works just fine. Actually I’m quite impressed with it for detailing my car. It gets the dog hair and stray French Fries just fine. I only need the larger hose when I’m sucking up bigger stuff, like my garage floor or hooking up to my router table and table saw.
AlergicToSnow that’s good advice. Yeah I think regular old dirt and dust it’s just fine for that stuff I always have trouble vacuuming dog hair so maybe that’s why I like more power lol.
DIY Dad my vacuum and the stiff brush in the detailing kit works well. It would be better with some kind of beater brush, like a rug rat.

Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.
I use the size 1 and 1/0 Mustad hooks to freeline for snook th-cam.com/users/postUgkxzXmlErSqVAEGWFEKO530BvTqFDw53QW3 and they have been fantastic. The points are super sharp, and the hook is small enough to blend with my baitfish, yet large enough to land fish 30" or more. I also use these hooks when I'm pier or surf fishing with my kids. They tend to catch tons of smaller snapper, whiting, and catfish, and we get far fewer gut hooks with these Mustad in-lines, which means more of them survive after release. I was actually using these hooks when I caught my friend too, but I think that had more to do with the bait I was using ;-)
