    Hey man I have the same mower I’ve done all this and belt and everything is fine trust me I’m no rookie I’ve been fixing mowers a while now still no drive???

    • @DIYDad1
      @DIYDad1 6 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Sadly for me this mower met its demise and the oil pan gasket sprung a leak one day and all the oil was just gone and overheated and seized it up. It worked for a little while but yeah I had a hard time with the drive as well, I think it wasn't the belt tension or anything from what I researched on this model it's the gearbox that has issues as they get older, there's some sprockets that lock up and cause it to not go forward or go forward very slowly and in some cases the wheels actually lock up completely. Seems like a design flaw with these where the transmission needs to be torn apart and rebuilt, not worth it at that point.

      @@arielalexandermontilla9780 oh that's interesting I haven't had that happen, my guess is there's something that's causing that sound to resonate maybe like a filter or something that might be partially clogged or something, some turbulent air stream making the sound, hard to diagnose, different attachments on the end make any difference to the sound?

      @@arielalexandermontilla9780 yeah my guess is that it just has more restriction because it's a smaller diameter hose, also the longer the hose you get the less airflow you get at the nozzle end as well just by the way physics works with how much air can physically move through.

There's a couple of plastic tabs on opposite sides of the top of the head you can squeeze those and the head will pop off to disassemble, try to clean that out blow it out with some air and remove any debris. • @DIYDad1
      @DIYDad1 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@FORDTECH313 So this stuff has a little bit of iron and some other micro nutrients in it which helps with the color, I don't believe the Scotts has any iron in it, the Scott's is pretty basic it does the job with the basic macro ingredients that your lawn needs but not much beyond that other than to push growth. There could be a soil issue too if your color isn't where you want it to be, overly acidic or too alkaline soil will leach color and cause the yellowing. You could look for an organic fertilizer that is slow release and has iron in it, adding some organic matter to your soil as well which could help. I like Milorganite but the cost of that has gone up quite a bit in recent years sadly, but that stuff has iron which really helps with color, check the label on products you buy and see if it has iron as an ingredient that will go a LONG way to helping give your grass a nice deep dark green color. Either a liquid iron spray or a graunular iron product like Ironite that you can water in. Hope this helps!

    I have had a 225 since1988. I put a saw blade on it from day one. I use it to keep the brush trimmed back from my driveway and small nuisance trees. Goes thru them like crap thru a goose. Never rebuilt.

      I'm impressed with how well this thing has held up for me, they are built like tanks!

    My plastic hose has been chewed up by my dog's & run over a few times & still works, + my vacuum is 20+ yrs old & even rip the electrical cord in half getting caught around the vehicle & backing out 🤦 but still kicking strong AF 💪 my vacuum is so old it doesn't even have the inlet in the tub it's in the top half of the vacuum going into the lid. So I probably need an upgrade 😂

    Thanks for the idea! I'm in the same boat with the disappearing agitator. Can't find a replacement anywhere. You saved me a lot of money!

    Possibly it's at Walmart, not sure. I mix my own 50:1 ratio but you don't have to use the Echo 2 stroke oil.

    I have No lawn and the mosquitos are awful. Am am concerned about pollinators and my pets (&me) using this.

    • @DIYDad1
      @DIYDad1 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This will repel pollinators like bees and such, I haven't had had too large of a bee population in this entire town to be honest so it's not a huge concern where I live, however you can also be a little more selective with where you spray this and skip over plants you care about. Just spray in your most common outdoor living areas like around decks and patios and a good 3 foot radius around those areas and that alone will be a HUGE improvement with mosquitoes just with that.

    Can I spray this after rainfall or before rainfall?

    • @DIYDad1
      @DIYDad1 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would wait til after rain. Of you apply it too soon before a rain it could wash away reducing the amount of time that the chemical is active for. It will still be there in the soil and on plants but greatly diluted. Best to wait til after a rain and it will dry and stay there for longer. Thanks for watching!
