I love that Christian said near the end "If I were a rapist, god forbid" Funny thing about that! God doesn't forbid it! He just says you have to pay the father restitution and marry the woman. Basically a "you break it, you buy it" policy when it comes to sexual assault. So yeah, that's a funny turn of phrase 🤣
When the angel appeared to Mary and told her she was with child and would give birth to the son of God, that was the first time she’d heard about it. She was already pregnant. She never gave her consent. Where I come from that’s called rape, so add rape to the list of God’s immoral acts.
"He just says you have to pay the father restitution and marry the woman" That only applies to virgins who aren't betrothed. If she was betrothed whether she gets stoned depends on where it happened, but the guy gets stoned in either case. If a woman is raped outside of town and the man can be found he gets stoned to death but she is just used goods. Pretty much all other scenarios both the man and woman are stoned to death. As another aside, if a man marries a woman and finds something about her that he detests, he can claim she wasn't a virgin on her wedding night, and if her family can't provide wedding sheets with proof of virginity, he gets his money back and she gets stoned to death in front of her father's house. HOWEVER, if they can provide evidence then he has to remain married to her for life. Off the top of my head I don't remember if there's another penalty for him for dishonoring her but I believe there might be.
I agree that is true. It could be extended to say, if a Christian used the correct definitions of words to describe their own beliefs they would say the beliefs are illogical.
Maybe it's time for Christian to be retired with Amanuel? Same issue: calls in every week, calls multiple shows, uses the same every time, never learns anything.
The moment Christian admitted that he would be willing to torture a person he loves forever, removes him from any rational conversation. He's certainly not worth any further effort.
…then got a bit pissy for the hosts saying “it’s not a difficult question, it’s just a straight no”… as though that wasn’t the obvious answer for anyone who isn’t vile or poisoned by religion.
Christian. A few months ago this young girl, 6 years old, died in that horrible earthquake in Turkey. Now, she's going to hell just because she was born in the wrong part of the world? And you are okay with this??
"If you love somebody, there needs to be admonishment." I love my cats. If one of them knocks a bowl off the counter and it shatters, I don't respond by hurting them. How truly barbaric that way of thinking is.
@@downshift4503 That's right. It's not surprising that this message is constantly repeated in the literature, because that was the prevalent society back when it was written. The tribal tit for tat, "I'm not gonna start it but I'm gonna finish it" mentality (although the Christians did their fair share of starting things over the ages) is exposing the violent "early developmental phase" of our species.
@@BeheadedKamikaze What surprises me is that christians don't seem to realise the implications of gods nature. The bible demonstrates that god likes to play games, the sort that involves really bad consequences for the players. He did it to Adam and Eve, does it throughout the old testament. Then in the new testament we get a new version.... the hide and seek game. Oddly the disciples had access to shedloads of evidence, magic whatnot.... but we don't. Worse, he gave many people, myself included, critical thinking skills so that my freewill is violated (I don't accept that exists anyway) and won't let me believe due to lack of evidence. So... once they are in heaven and I and many others are in the oven, why do they think god is going to be content with boredom? He could have just created man in heaven if he just wanted that. It's bloody obvious that he'll cook up a new version of the hunger games or something, maybe they'll face more ridiculous tests, trees of life, hide and seek with traps to send them to join us in hell. When he runs out of christians in heaven, he can always set up a new earth more people to torment.
Maybe consider putting a few treats into a "bowl of the knowledge of good and evil". When the cats eat them (shocker!) then they will need to be cast out of your home and all their descendants banished forever. Seems a perfectly reasonable thing to do.
Yup, my cat gets on my nerves sometimes, but when I want her to stop, I don't beat her, yell at her, or torture her. Usually I try to find out why she's acting in such a way (which could be I forgot to fill her food bowl, or I need to hit cycle on her litter box because it didn't read her using it, or she just needs petting).
For Christian - "Stalin didn't send anyone to the Gulags, they sent themselves there because they didn't follow the rules." See how stupid that sounds now when you say "People send themselves to hell"?
Atheists are going to want to be with other atheists, not with God. After living the life of an atheist, the atheist would be more miserable in the presence of God than with Satan and his angels.

I'm at a complete loss as to what Christian from GA is even fucking doing at this point. Every week he calls in to multiple of these shows, tries the same arguments that get torn apart cuz they're bad fucking arguments and he's like "no, no. I'm on to something here, I'm just not wording it right so they're getting it!" Nah dude, the reasoning sucks. Take some time & reevaluate things...

@@TheWasteOfTime I'm not necessarily saying we should tell him one way or the other... but maybe more to give him perspective and understanding that a lot of his arguments just don't cut it... and not just with comments to him, but comments from people in general about his arguments...

Sometimes less patiently than others, but the dude has been given ample explanations to get why he fails to be compelling. But alas, he calls over and over and over again, without any change in his delivery. Back in the old days of the Atheist Experience Blog people (myself included) used to waste ridiculous amounts of bandwith arguing with people who'd called into the show to very rarely any avail. I've yet to see any instance of Christian replying to anyone in these comments sections and even if he did, I think one is VASTLY overestimating my level of engagement if they think I'm interested in trying my hand in joining the chorus of people who've tried to tell him why what he's trying doesn't work. At this point, I'm old and tired and snark is what I've got to give.
How are you going to have a good debate when atheism is a disbelief, it's a bias position. Atheists don't have the willingness or ability to accept God that is true but yet they don't believe the origins of Life came into existence without God Where could that debate possibly go. Matter-of-factly atheist even has a disbelief that atheistic Communist governments have anything to do with atheist humanism and then the atheist tries to take credit for what Christians created modern Western Civilization. We practice the Christian moral value of not forcing belief on anybody any atheist calls it secular as if it has anything to do with atheism. But you know what he won't call secular he won't call atheistic communist government secular including officially atheistic governments like North Korea. The atheist humanist wants to sit there all day and attack Christianity with intellectually dishonest arguments. He wants to label the Bible the most evil book and when you actually call out the most evil book The talmud The atheist most holy book The atheist goes in defense mode. Name just one atheist experience episode where they talked negatively about the talmud. Doesn't exist the most hateful bigoted book in the history of mankind but atheist experience refuses to talk about it. VA theist we'll talk about the Christians faith-based belief but then when you call out the atheist humanist faith-based belief like the idea he mutilates his children because he believes faith his children have a spirit of a different gender in that body The atheist will call you a bigot. Did you imagine I told an atheist I have a soul and the spirit of God inside of me and how could you tell me differently it's my body and if you say differently you're a bigot. Also by you not acknowledging it's a fact it makes me feel depressed and suicidal so hateful bigot that causes people to commit suicide. Atheist humanism is the most dangerous cult in the world. And its members have no clue they're brainwashed cult members
I started listening to Axp a few years ago when I came out as an atheist to my Christian family and friends and it was incredibly comforting and validating to watch your show. I started watching again tonight, and am really loving this newer panel and discussion, with your different personalities, and smarter and more confident than I could ever hope to be. I'm okay with that, I need a consistent dose of atheist knowledge and wit. I love it!
Agreed. The sad part is that he does it much better than most apologists do it, and he still sucks at it, which exemplifies how weak apologists' arguments are.
He sounds smart but is saying such silly things? Infinitely holy? God? What God? The God in mythology? Humble yourself to find God? Wow, that's what Islam says. And Hindusim. And all other cults. When I was Christian and humbled myself before God I didn't get extra proof. I just used way more cognitive bias.
I find it hard that these types of caller keep saying that they get interrupted. They clearly think that, if they can finish a certain proposition, it will be convincing. And they can't see that after a few sentences they have made so many statements that need to be challenged that they have to be interrupted and questioned.
I just like atheist trying to justify ridiculous things. Like their ancestors were sea creatures. How about justifying mutilating your children because you believe they have a brain of a different gender in their body . One of my favorite of all time was atheist Richard Dawkins who said he believes the origins of Life came into existence without God because he believes basically a magic that everything came from nothingness.
Another fantastic episode, fellas! Really appreciate you guys. Forrest was phenomenal, as he always is -- However, this was my first full episode featuring Secular Rarity, and I found him to be extremely pleasant and knowledgable, as well. I'm definitely looking forward to watching more of his contributions. Keep up the amazing work, Team AXP! As a side note, I would love to try a dose of those mushrooms that involved Mercury enticing Jupiter to start sharting out birds! That sounds like one hell of a trip. Yea. It’s proper sheep follow sheep mentality. It’s really so unwise. I can see why people fall for this kind of thinking but….it’s also pretty easy to untangle yourself from this thought process. I don’t know why people battle so much with this.
@@Domzdream I think they get so conditioned into doctrines; it melds with their sense of self. To attack one is to attack both and they are afraid of losing the imaginary.

I thought Mark's email was quite telling in how he obviously thinks Forest's "belief" in evolution equates to his own belief in God. It has to be something that Forest worships and wills to happen, rather than just a natural process that happens beyond his or anyone else's control. This is how religion wrecks the brain, nothing but projection because they can't understand a different way of thinking to their own.
So many things...so many things wrong with that email 😅😂 Mark clearly: • doesn't understand satire • mistakes using a passionate voice as enough, it's not -- you also need to know some concrete things about the topics at hand, and how the facts fit together to outline the truth • needs to figure out how to apply the knowledge he _does_ have in a logical way Which is why it all came out sounding like someone interpreting reality from inside Alice's Wonderland 😅
Christian is someone I have a hard time believing is true. He calls over and over, saying the same thing, makes the exact same arguments, never learns anything, and just seems to make up excuses as he goes. He just responds in a way that seems way too disinterested in what he's saying. The hosts seem to get way more involved than he is. I'm feeling like he has no real belief in what he's saying.
Most of the traits you have identified In Christian, are (to me) indicators that he is a genuine theist, and probably a Christian. "Same arguments... never learns (or listens)... makes excuses." are all very common Christian discussion tactics, because that's how they have been trained to converse. They cannot question such details, arguments or methods, which is why they usually appear to have never thought about these subjects until they are mentioned. They don't even listen to the arguments they themselves make, which is why they often appear dishonest or stupid, but such limitations on their intelligence largely only affect their mythological beliefs. Most are commonly reasonable and rational on unrelated subjects.
It’s tough to have a discussion about morality with someone that won’t budge from “God can do whatever he wants because he’s god, and I’ll just justify whatever he does for any reason at all.”
The way he handled (reeeeeeeally badly) Forest’s question about what his loved ones would need to do for them to deserve eternal torture, then got a bit pissy about his answer/non-answer being highlighting as truly abhorrent, makes me think he’s for real. Also, the fact he called The Line a “goofball show” merely because those hosts called him out for his rank dishonesty and vile opinions, shows how Christian is a puerile and pathetic excuse for a human.
@duskyrose9243 Based on your post, I conclude that you are more similar to a lot of theists than you realize. You refuse to accept that someone believes what they say what they believe because those beliefs are different from yours and that you can't comprehend why they believe that. An example of this is when those theists refuse to accept that atheists doesn't believe that a god exist and would proceed to tell the atheists that that's not true and that atheists do actually believe in the existence of a god. That is due to them being unable to comprehend how/why atheists came to their conclusion.
This is a personal anecdote - I had some spinal issues ( cervical vertebrae) that cut off the flow of spinal fluid between my head and my body and I quickly started to lose the ability to do some mental math, simple calculations. After having surgery I regained the ability to do the math again. I asked a psychiatrist about and he did confirm that stopping the spinal fluid from flowing will have effects on cognition.

Also, the hosts here tend to actually DISCUSS things - not simply try to control the conversation and force callers into YES / NO answers. Andrew from Florida seems to think "falsify" means "disbelieve". He literally said we have falsified elves because nobody believes in elves. This seems to be a common failing among theists: they simply don't understand concepts like "falsify" but they feel free to misuse the terms all day long.
I honestly thought Secular Rarity was going to say "The Atheist Experience was a product of crushed and severed genitals," at the beginning of the show. 😂
Hey, I’m definitely new to this channel and have watched a few episodes now. I am very glad something like this exists and, for the most part, you guys do a fantastic job of simplifying complex sciences into comprehensible analogies and examples for those of us who aren’t experts. However, I don’t know if this is something that has just been in the episodes I’ve seen or has been solved, but I do notice that almost all of the theist callers end in them being frustrated because they are getting interrupted. I totally get that you guys want to do it if someone will not progress the conversation or are just being hateful, but I feel you guys can cut a lot of people off very frequently which makes them feel like they truly aren’t being listening to. I know I’d get frustrated if someone interrupted me consistently before I can finish a whole thought and I’m sure it messes up their flow of thought and causes confusion. I don’t agree with these people at all, but I feel like maybe more of an effort should be expressed about how limited your time is on the calls and let them finish a thought before asking about a part of it in the middle of the sentence. Again, great show and I’m really enjoying these conversations, I just think it may be more productive conversation and less problematic if these people are given the room to speak since it is supposed to be a conversation. Good luck!
I would argue that's exactly the purpose. You can't control and exercise power over people without a certain amount of dilution of their mental capabilities.

It’s literally all just nonsense justification for bad behavior. Christian is making god sound like people are born like Vanilla Ice and God is Suge Knight holding him by his feet out the window to sign a contract.
Definitely, even Forrest was losing his rag at the end. The only thing wrong with atheism is that we know we won't be able to say to the likes of Christian, "See, I told you your belief was ballocks," after the end.
I had a lecturer in university who was of Icelandic heritage and she had stories about elves that she genuinely believed. Her concept of what an elf was is different to say a xmas elf or a little person type elf. So to say no one believes in (x) thing is ridiculous because simply by the law of averages, there is someone out there and probably a group of someones who believe in just about anything. People say "well unicorns don't exist and people don't believe in them". Unicorns are mentioned in the bible. When I was doing my study in Orthodoxy, there are stories about saints being guided by centaurs. There are stories about people slaying dragons. One particularly memorable one was a man who bit off the toe of a recently decease saint and he spat the toe into the dragon's mouth and that is how it was vanquished. These stories are actually taught as if real. There is a saint they believe didn't eat or drink for forty years. People, even intelligent, rational people will believe the weirdest shit.
I know this isn’t a new idea as many channels/websites do it, but the ACA hosts definitely need to start a ‘Crazy Angry Theists’ Emails’ section. It would be hilarious.
Forrest, a 4th argument against hell is that the penalty is disproportionate to the sin. What crime does justify a punishment of being tortured for ever?
Exactly. Forrest alluded to that in passing, but I think, too, it's a strong enough point to get its own numbered bullet. 4. Eternal punishment for a finite infraction is not just.
Last discussion with Christian made me happy and proud that I left religion and became Atheist. Bible believers are so horrible when they justify hell!
@@isaacmorales9973 Eternally torturing someone for disobedience is justified? If anyone said "I will torture you for not kissing my ass" you would call them a monster. But if anyone said "I will torture you to the end of time and beyond for not kissing my ass" we have a bunch of people saying "Sounds like a justified thing!" Cthulhu is less monstrous than God. Most of Lovecraft's eldritch horrors are not as cruel or evil as the Christian God. I've read some arguments that Azathoth is Yahweh, or is based on Yahweh. One of the main problems Tim is making is assuming there will be enough time. The best current model is the heat death of the universe, which would stop the “permutations”.
I would argue that the premise is corrupt from the start. It relies on the premise that 2 exact versions of a brain would be exactly the same person or produce the same thoughts. There is just no proof of this. It might even exist already that this has already happened, that 2 people in the world were alive and had the exact same brain configuration, would you call it 'reincarnation' if your 'dopplebrainer' is currently alive at the same time that you are?

When I was a Christian, the idea that God would forgive anyone for anything as long as their repentance was true, did seem very loving. But I always struggled with the idea that a loving God/Father would send a good person to hell for doubting/not loving him. But I did the mental gymnastics to justify it. That God doesn't actually do the torturing. That is just a matter of welcoming ppl into heaven is they wanted to be with him, and leaving them out of not. I imagined the devil/demons then being able to drag the ones left out to hell. Sad for those who weren't really evil, but they didn't want to be in God's house, so that's the consequence, right??? But then I became a parent. I thought about if my daughter rebelled against me. Didn't want to live with me at all. Hated me. If she was then living on the street, and was attacked, I'd still go save her. If she still didn't want to live with me. I'd try to mend that, but if I couldn't, but had the power to build her a safe place separate from me, but safe from attack and torture, I would. That's true, unconditional love. God is all powerful and all knowing, and in our culture today, is supposed to be an all loving parent. So God could create a place for non believers that isn't torturous. And honestly, it would be better if they then tried to actually have personal relationships with ppl, and the ppl at any point could decide is they wanted to be in God's house or not. Not, love me during your short little life on Earth, where you are inundated with false information and just have to sift through the bullshit and figure out what's right on your own and believe and love me on faith alone, and that matters more than any actions you take. And that is the only chance you get, then it's heaven or hell for eternity. He could also design appropriate levels of punishment/rehabilitation for those who do wrong.

I've never really had a problem with the plants (day 3) being created before the sun (day 4). Surely presumably perfect plants can survive a day before the sun starts shining? I mean, it's obviously still a completely fictitious story, but the plants thing just seems to be so insignificant, that it isn't even worth mentioning.
@@papaquonis true but it goes hand in hand with light being created before the sun. Tf happened there 😂😂 also, we don’t know how long days are in the creation story, especially since the sun wasn’t the first thing created lol- ken ham himself admits that a “day” could constitute as a million years. Most non-young earth creationists don’t believe the 7 days to be what we would define as a week now. Most say that the bible states in certain passages that each day included “generations” of things which doesn’t make a ton of sense if it were to be a 24hr day. So no one really knows how long each “day” of creation was supposed to be. If it was 24hrs, sure, might not matter at all, but if it was longer, then yeah, that’s a massive problem. Of course it’s all fiction like you said, but it’s worth mentioning that many people who believe in the bible do not believe in 24hr days of the creation.
@@papaquonis For me it is, because plants need sunlight to survive, and if it was a perfect plant then why create the sun later? it already existed day and night without sun anyway, so the sun is not needed at all. Personally I like to compare this fictitious story with other fictitious story, like thor's hammer, it puts the apologists in the spot of either denying science (which makes theirs just as true as the magical hammer one) or appealing to magic despite science (which puts their fable as valid as the magical hammer one)

If you touch anything with cum or menstrual blood you are dirty.(even if it’s yours) However when sacrificing small animals or very expensive animals some that are entirely burnt and sometimes the priest get to keep most of it and the blood is always being rubbed on horns and poured on the alter and sprinkled on clothes and don’t forget to rub a smudge on your right ear lobe and your left big toe…. You put the blasphemer to death, sometimes you kill them sometimes you burn them and sometimes you just kick them out of town for no reason at all. It’s insane, maybe it made sense once, but it makes absolutely zero sense at all. If you ejaculate you are dirty, the things you touch are dirty. I’m talking smashing crook pots and burning clothes. It’s endless chaos. One more. If you sleep safe it’s god, if you get out to the sword by an enemy it’s also god, but he warned us! We were already definitely guilty of screwing up 100’s of these things and god let you have it because everyone’s obviously messed anyway. There are rules about how to burn an animal for sins you aren’t aware that you’ve made and it doesn’t really matter if you are aware of it or not. PAY UP SUCKER! The priest need to eat too.

Its just a ridiculous blanket statement that you could apply to a psychopath. Torturing someone cannot result from love.
For Christian - "Stalin didn't send anyone to the Gulags, they sent themselves there because they didn't follow the rules."
See how stupid that sounds now when you say "People send themselves to hell"?

How are you going to have a good debate when atheism is a disbelief, it's a bias position. Atheists don't have the willingness or ability to accept God that is true but yet they don't believe the origins of Life came into existence without God
Where could that debate possibly go.

Really enjoyed Forrest's response to Andrew on evolutionary beliefs. Totally nailed it
I thought Mark's email was quite telling in how he obviously thinks Forest's "belief" in evolution equates to his own belief in God. It has to be something that Forest worships and wills to happen, rather than just a natural process that happens beyond his or anyone else's control.
This is how religion wrecks the brain, nothing but projection because they can't understand a different way of thinking to their own.
So many things...so many things wrong with that email 😅😂
Mark clearly:
• doesn't understand satire
• mistakes using a passionate voice as enough, it's not -- you also need to know some concrete things about the topics at hand, and how the facts fit together to outline the truth
• needs to figure out how to apply the knowledge he _does_ have in a logical way
Which is why it all came out sounding like someone interpreting reality from inside Alice's Wonderland 😅
Unfortunately, it sounds to me like he DOES believe this crap he's spouting off about! He's just disinterested in developing any self-awareness.
@duskyrose9243
Based on your post, I conclude that you are more similar to a lot of theists than you realize.

Good luck!

If anyone said "I will torture you for not kissing my ass" you would call them a monster. If anyone said "I will torture you for years, and prevent you from dying, for not kissing my ass", they would go down in history for being a monstrous person.
But if anyone said "I will torture you to the end of time and beyond for not kissing my ass" we have a bunch of people saying "Sounds like a justified thing!"
Cthulhu is less monstrous than God. Most of Lovecraft's eldritch horrors are not as cruel or evil as the Christian God. I've read some arguments that Azathoth is Yahweh, or is based on Yahweh. Even so, Azathoth is less cruel, in that everyone would simply cease to exist if Azathoth woke up.
Anyone who says that God is omnibenevolent is wrong. The problem of evil resolves simply: God lied.

@Caller Andrew
I was raised by atheitsts, and I never had any thoughts about god or supernatural things. Only when I was older and I could understand such concepts, and was confronted with believers, did it enter my mind.
And it was really weird to me at that time. 😊
One of the main problems Tim is making is assuming there will be enough time. I don’t even have to do the math to know the astronomically high number of permutations would take longer than the we believe the universe will ever exist.

Wow, that last Caller Christian just gets more horrifying and awful every time he calls either ACA shows or the Line shows, his arguments are just really awful, the more I watch these shows the more I am convinced these callers don't even actually hear or realize what they are saying/defending, it is really sad hearing someone defend just awful stuff but it seems like they defend it at any cost without knowing what they are saying like they are on autopilot

The mistake gawd made when creating the Earth was he put way too much salt in the large bodies of water. His precious humans can't drink it.
Revelation 21 : 1 says there will be no more sea (this would include all large bodies of water).
21 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.
This means that god obviously knows how to create the ideal world for humans (with only lakes/rivers?) and the current world with it's salty oceans causing dehydration and death for many (especially in the times before industrial scale desalinization was invented) is there to "test" mankind.
@@Firestorm12345678910 The book of Revelation was written by a crazy man who was pissed off at being oppressed by the Roman Emperor Nero and his armies. Re : Rookz's question as to why God created periods ?
Well , had she not done so when taking part in many of man's greatest literary works , how would we to know where one sentence ends and another begins ?
Biggest Mistake During Creation: Giving humans a body capable of being corrupted by sin.
And the best part, it's a valid argument.
The mistake god made was trying to communicate thru text!! Really???
A mistake that God made during creation he forgot to leave the evidence for the world wide flood. Duh
God: oh right. Evaporation is a thing. SMH.
God’s mistake during creation: Making the plants before the sun. Those plants be starving.
I understand is all fiction, but when you connect it with reality, which is what apologists try to do, it starts to fall apart pretty quickly.
Personally I like to compare this fictitious story with other fictitious story, like thor's hammer, it puts the apologists in the spot of either denying science (which makes theirs just as true as the magical hammer one) or appealing to magic despite science (which puts their fable as valid as the magical hammer one)
Chlorophyll/photosynthesis prior to Sunlight. Yeah, that's an issue.
@@papaquonis The temperature of the earth would be closer to absolute zero without the sun so those plants would be having much more than photosynthesis problems.
That email was an absolute mountain of weirdness... that much batshit insanity and you only shared a little bit of it?
I’m reading Leviticus right now. I started at 16(I was looking for a quote) and I kept reading to 27 and I’ve circled back around from 1-9 and it’s insanely stupid.
You’d have to read it and not once does it ever mention washing your hands…
So the book is a bunch of laws and some basic hygiene concerns.
I’ll give you an example. If you touch anything with cum or menstrual blood you are dirty.(even if it’s yours)
However when sacrificing small animals or very expensive animals some that are entirely burnt and sometimes the priest get to keep most of it and the blood is always being rubbed on horns and poured on the alter and sprinkled on clothes and don’t forget to rub a smudge on your right ear lobe and your left big toe….
Thoroughly enjoyed this! 😊💜
