You’ve grown fast buddy. You’re killing it man. That’s a nice Casio. Very tough watch as you know. Good review my friend. The MOP is a beautiful touch. Very clean dial. Price is a bit high for me but value is what a person is willing to pay. It’s a nice piece. Congrats.
Avg. Joe Watch Reviews thanks brother! Yeah your Casio Chronicles sold me on the brand for sure! I like this one and because I found such a “great” deal I had to jump on it. Idk if I’d pay $150 myself. Thanks for checking out the review man! 😎🍻👍
My white A1000 arrived last week, I love it. It seemed small when I first wore it but I've got my eye in now & everything else seems big. I couldn't decide between that & the grey A700, both very cool so naturally I ordered the A700 too a couple of days after the A1000 arrived, at £28($35) you can almost justify your addiction.
piquetuk nice! Yeah I have a feeling I’ll be snagging an A700 soon myself so I feel ya there! I also thought the A1000 was small initially but it’s like a 36mm datejust homage, on the wrist it’s just right. 😎👍 Thanks for sharing about your casios man!
@@DavidSchwartzjr As an update my grey A700 arrived & the milanese mesh from it will fit on the A1000 like on the black dial A1000, a combination I would have chosen if I could have, though you will need some thinner 18mm spring bars to make it work, the A1000 bracelet also slots straight on to the A700 which is nice.
@@piquetuk Hey man, thanks for the update! That is great to hear about the bracelets being interchangeable. I have a whole ton of different sized spring bars so I appreciate the heads up! Looks like I'll need to put in my order soon on that A700 lol 😎👍
Yeah I was thinking the same before I had this watch but I’m glad I took a chance on it. Casio should update their stock photos to show what it really looks like imo, they’d probably sell a ton more! I appreciate your comment as always! 😊
Excellent review David, very in-depth and informative. It’s a nice looking watch. I got my first digital watch back in the late 70s thought I was the bees knees
Thanks Elmo! Yeah you got to experience the originals! Too cool! I like hearing my dad tell me about the ones he had. I think his even had red numbers iirc. I wish this particular model was a bit cheaper but it’s such a cool one. I appreciate you checking out the review and sharing your thoughts! 😎🍻👍
Pricing on grey is very reasonable IMO. You scored a very good deal at 75. Also FYI it is a led backlight, not EL. We can see the led on the left of the screen.
Hi David, I live in the UK and I have been thinking of buying one due to the pricing of it which I think is still a bit high considering there are many other brands of watch which have better specs and are a lot cheaper. If Casio had priced this at around £50 I think that would have been a fair price. I did purchase a Casio from the vintage range which is the Casio A700 which like this watch is very slim at only 6mm, it's a great watch for the price of them but the only drawback is the chrome plated resin body of the watch, it does have a very nice stainless steel mesh bracelet though which is what attracted me to it in the first place and also it's dial which is grey, it also has a mineral glass dial. Thanks for your review of this watch though and I will wait a little bit longer before getting one.
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts about this watch, Ednam! Yes, I do wonder why they are priced so high and it almost kept me from getting this one myself. I got lucky finding the seller here in the US selling it for under market price but I know that is not the norm. I've also considered getting the A700 to try out for those reasons you had mentioned with the bracelet and dial color. I do hope this review helped out and if you end up getting the A1000D-7EF I'd love to hear what your thoughts are on it in the future! Thanks again for the comment! 😎🍻👍 Dave
Glad you liked this one! I had come across it by chance as well! Hard to find here in the states but a cool look and the fact it’s all stainless steel is pretty awesome! 😎👍
I'm thinking sometime - are we obsessing too much about some details that we think are important (for us - collectors), like some particular watch functions, materials (SS or Bronze), or accuracy of our watch, while everyone else in a world do not give a rat's ass about any of it?
Oh 100% we do. Watch collecting can sometimes be a lonely sport. But it’s quite enjoyable when you find another person or group you can share the experience with! And anytime someone shows interest I see it as an invitation to bring another enthusiast into the watch community lol
I guess the pricing has got a fair bit to do with the full stainless steel case, its a very cool looking watch & even though the bracelet has folded links which I think adds a little old school charm to it i would probably pay the highish price just for that mother of pearl front with that high polish casio logo thought that was a really nice touch. Great video man 👍🍻 & enjoy your first digi 😊
somewhere in time thanks man! Yeah I know there are plenty of cheaper Casio options out there but I just love the look and vintage vibe this one gives. You’re right about the links, probably staying true to that old school form. Thanks for checking out my vid! Have a good one! (P.S. no luck yet finding the beer you had in your last video but the search continues!)
@@DavidSchwartzjr definitely a good choice for your first digital watch. Ah yes the desperados tequila flavoured beer, real nice & very easy to drink! 🍺 😁 hope you can find some its worth the search.
I'm not normally much of a digital watch fan, but this really looks really good. For the price they're going for though you expect solid links on the bracelet. Good review mate.
Honest Watch Reviews hey thanks, same here. Figured it was time for the digital journey but my passion is definitely with traditional watches. I totally agree about the links, I’m guessing it’s to be true to the retro design but might just be to cut costs lol 🤷🏻♂️ Thanks for checking out the review mate! 😎👍
Hey, thanks for that tip, Steven! I ended up selling this one, but I do know eventually I'm gonna run into these links again so I'll see if I can pick up one of those tools online. Cheers! 😎🍻👍
There can be a hint of some pink-ish tones in the iridescence of the dial, but only small spots and very little, I would not say that the dial glows pink in certain angles. Maybe it would depend on the piece of Mother of Pearl used, some can be a bit more pinkish but that was not my experience with this watch.
Hey Schwartz Force! Check out my first digital watch purchase and check out the description for where to get one if you're interested! I feel I got a good deal but do you think the price is too high for a Casio? Should I have gone with a different model/brand? Let me know in the comments!
@@syndicatedsatellite7288 Great advice man! So I'm oddly enough, thinking of this Waveceptor one next (amzn.to/3eBIf4n). A little different but pretty cool imo :)
That is a good question! So I don't know of any micro-adjust clasps that can be used specifically for this one, sorry. I ended up selling this watch as well so I no longer have it to test out straps and clasps on. Sorry about that, I wish I could be more help for you!
People complaining about prices on a casio is insane. is 80euro worth a amazing watch from an amazing brand? While a rolex costs 5k to start with and have less function and legability then this. If anything casio should ask more!
Great review. Do have a bad outbreak of acne atm? I think seeing the face of the reviewer, at some point in the review, makes things much more watchable. It feels that you're more engaged with the reviewer. Jody from JOMW does this to perfection. Take it easy. JP.
Thanks JP, luckily I don’t have any acne lol but at the time I recorded this I was off work and a hot mess, you being up a good point though.
