I thought I would never fill this thing but would you know within a few years it's packed full of tools I use everyday. I would suggest that if you are looking at a box always go one size bigger than what you think you need, as long as you can make space for it in your garage. Also get the locking mechanism on the drawers, that way the drawers won't open by themselves if your box is on a sloping garage floor due the drain.

This looks like a great price for a 72" cabinet. For my money, the best deal on tool cabinets are at Harbor Freight. A few months ago, I bought a 46" Yukon cabinet for $169 when they had a clearance sale, which usually sells for $269.99. At $169, even if I bought two of them, I would have more than ample space for my stuff. I find them to be well made and reasonably priced. There are numerous reviews of that cabinet on youtube.
I bought mine at the same time and out of the same catalog but it's still going strong today, I rebuild caterpillar components and I use it daily. I lubed all of the tracks and the things I don't like and the plastic end caps on the drawers because they fall off and the pull handle falls off when pulling the tool box. The drawer locks get jammed with tools underneath occasionally, the price of this box has gone up substantially with inflation "2024" .
Nice box! I got the 41" H2Pro top & bottom boxes last year. I'm a little jealous because it looks like Homak corrected two major drawbacks with the H2Pro line. 1)They added latches and got rid of the stupid rubber retainers on the drawer slides, and 2) the drawers pull out all the way. You just can't beat the higher end Homak boxes for the price.
Congrats man! You earned it for sure. TH-cam isn’t as easy as it may seem to someone who has never done it (speaking from my own experience) That box will serve you well for many, many years.
That blue is killer looking. The price point is great with the top being stainless included. The height of the box is also great for us that are over 6’. The only thing left is to see a 6 month, one year and two year review. Congrats on the box. I wonder If they will have add ons like a hitch and locker?

Looking forward to seeing how yours turns out. Of course it’ll be box drawergonized 1.0 with many updates and experiments to follow.
Where the HF box beats this box is it's pricing. It's always 999-1099 depending on if it's on sale and they have locations everywhere. Let's face it you got a deal and it's unlikely your viewers will get a deal like that. Add to that most people will need to have the box delivered to their home due to the lack of pick up in store availableability. Ad it all up and you can get two us general 72in boxes and have money left over.
But you will sacrifice drawer depth, the handle latch (which is superior to Harbor Freights), the stainless top, and the overall better drawer layout. And Homak usually has the sale often, it’s actually going on right now. Both are great. I think it depends on what your budget is, but if you are a pro and you can spend the extra money to get the Homak, I’d get the Homak.
Have you filled this up yet? I would like to see a tour of it filled with tools now if possible. I'm in the market for another new box now and this one is close to the top of my short list.

It's clear that you are really satisfied with this, as you should be; you got a great deal on a box that isn't compromised. My opinion is that Homak is better than the best Harbor Freight, Husky and Kobalt boxes, better than the Milwaukee and DeWalt boxes, equal to those Menard's MasterForce boxes, but not as good as Proto, and for sure not as good as tool truck brands (Cornwell, Snap-On)... Maybe equal to Sunex and BluePoint. In any case, at this discounted price, probably the best value of any tool chest. I'm curious if you and others would agree with my ranking. ToolGuyd.com ran a piece on 26 January about Stanley Black & Decker purchasing Waterloo Industries. The article and the comments go into great detail about tool chest manufacturing, globalization, and corporate tool chest sales strategies. I highly recommend this.
Wow, that box looks great for the price. It looks to have almost a mirrored draw lay out of the HF 72 but USA made, stainless steel top, and I much prefer that grip latch draw pull over the HF side latches. Makes that a heck of a buy in my book. Hope she serves you well.
That's the biggest thing that annoyed me about my 27 inch Husky box. I felt like I could not fully utilize the drawers because they just weren't deep enough. I think that box that Hard Knocks reviewed has drawers that are almost an inch deeper than this box. But if I included the price and getting that box shipped out to me it would have been a couple of hundred dollars more.

Congrats Matt. I had the Homak H2Pro 56" double height box before I got my used KRL1023 with Hutch. Homak makes a really good product, you wont be dissapointed.
I think it's the right box at the right price for me, Kevin. I know there are nicer boxes out there, but I think I'm getting a lot for what I paid. I wouldn't be able to utilize the feature of a higher end box - this is the pinnacle for me.
My understanding is the weight capacity is just over 2200lbs and the top long drawer only supports 100lbs? I can't justify this box no matter how nice it is for those reasons alone if that is indeed the case.
Good box for the price and features, proper drawer latching is nice, and drawer layout/slides decent, mats decent and stainless top too lus warranty/parts support. regular HF 72" price is only 200bucks cheaper and no top and awful plastic latch and limited part support. Only one competing at similar cost is masterforce. Some select model deep Husky boxes are not bad if really want lower cost big box .
Can you still add the combo top to this? Like does that stainless come off? I think i want this box but want to start out with this exact box, some day buy the top but i have to know if you can add the top to the stainless model someone please comment. Thanks

No concern about that whatsoever. The way it's designed, it wouldn't catch on any of the frame. If I had Menards anywhere near me I may have gone with the masterforce box, but with shipping it would have cost me several hundred dollars more to get one of those boxes.

Top drawer is 200 pound capacity. The box is also drilled for a 3rd set of wheels.

The stainless top is removable. I think it's bolted from the underside. Yes, you can add the upper box.

The drawer sides are 1.35 mm thick. 18 gauge? I don't know beyond that.
mdlee52 I ordered one of these last week but thinking about going with the masterforce box instead. Do you feel the drawer catch will eat away at the powder coat over time?
No concern about that whatsoever. The way it's designed, it wouldn't catch on any of the frame. If I had Menards anywhere near me I may have gone with the masterforce box, but with shipping it would have cost me several hundred dollars more to get one of those boxes.

I did not. They had it in stock in a store near me, so my store just ordered it from the other store. I did have to pick it up, though.

I don't know how much weight is in it, but it is almost full right now and it still rolls very easily period feels very solid.
