I know alot of folks poo-poo the Yukon box because it's so shallow, but that's actually a feature. I can line the sides of my shop with those boxes when the Husky(and others) is too deep and prevents me from pulling more than one vehicle in while still being able to open the doors fully.

I almost pulled the trigger on the Husky 46x24 wood-top box at Christmas time. Then, I checked out the US General 42x22. MUCH BETTER quality for less money. I followed that up with 2 US General end lockers for $180 each. You just cannot beat the quality at that price. I am absolutely satisfied with them. I just wish that Harbor Freight offered additional steel shelves for the end lockers.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, Bear.👍

Probably coming up on 10 years that I bought the US General 42 inch roller and matching top chest. So pleased that I later added the 5 drawer cart. I have often said and still believe that the US General line is about the best value item at HF. Hard to beat the quality at the price. If I need to add storage, I can't see me going anywhere else.

You ask what I was looking for and I’ll tell you. I am a nurse and I like storage and in my washroom, I have lots of room but no storage and no place to fold my clothes so I am looking at these as a folding table! Not what you expected is it? now I have a place to put my screwdrivers and my drills and those kinds of things in my washroom, but I also have a table to fold my clothes. After looking at every one of these and weighing my options I have gone for the Yukon!

I have a Craftsman box and I guess I must be lucky it caused any problems but mine is getting old. I bought it at the end of the 70s. It even got clobbered by a fork lift and it still works but I did have to empty it and put it on its back to get the twist out of it.

@@jamesglass5402The Craftsman you know and love IS NOT the craftsman of today. They were bought out by Stanley Black and Decker and they are no where near the same quality as what they used to be. There's a reason why I don't capitalize the c when talking about modern craftsman... It's a shame really.

On Spotify I have over 4,000 songs. I used to listen to it at night, but my local radio station, owned by an old High School buddy of mine simply rocks 24/7. They went DJ less which is a shock, I was in contact with the national DJ's they used. Well he compiled a super list of music and no ads, no DJ's just music 24/7. There are two hourly Public service ads and weather forecasts, but that is it. Now I have a Bose Wave radio for daytime and bluetooth headsets for at night. I have some ringing in my ears and music really low lets me sleep. I can still hear a mouse fart anywhere in my apartment. I never paid for Spotify and I only keep it for those times when the radio station goes down. It is a small station and our wind or snow can knock it out for a day or two...

Tbh if it doesn't have 2 long drawers one for sockets one for wrenches, I'll keep saving my money to get into a full size box. Right now I'm using a tool cart, built out of plywood and 2x4s with a pegboard back. I built it when we moved to get my stuff off the floor(old garage had wall to wall steel pegboard)

The table extension is pretty sweet IF ur toolbox is light enough to be easily moved around. But i could def see if being used as a table saw outfeed especially for the old belt driven saws, so ext table goes over the motor that sticks out

I have several of the 24” deep 42” Husky boxes and managed to pick them up on sale & holiday clearance sales for around $350 each. Total steel at that price and the extra depth made them a no-brainer to pick over the Yukon from HF.
Also, I didn’t think I would use the integrated power strip (with USB) but it turns out that I use them all the time.

I got one of those Prosteel workbenches with pegboard and power strip from Tractor Supply a couple years ago for $275 when they closed out on them, they're really great value, and the quality is really good for the price, doesn't feel like cheap garbage stamp steel like some of the other brands out there, wish we had a Menards out here in Vermont because I'd grab another one.

One thing you did not mention that sets Husky apart as well as Craftsman 2000 series are the soft close drawers. It is a small thing but nice to have. I don't most of the other boxes have this feature.

I see 4 things that I'd like to store in a drawer sort of unit. I have a small home gamer set of tools. Probably the smallest of the top & bottom box work there - the Husky. I have a knife collection - I'm thinking the Windsor wooden chest from Harbor Freight for that. This Yukon look like a great addition to my kitchen, actually. The white one would look decent, and the wood top would be great for some appliances. The thing I personally don't have a handle on are small parts. Screws, bolts, nuts, shims, cords, spare grinder discs, all that junk. Building a cabinet to hold a bunch of the plastic Stanley boxes seems maybe the best option there.

Perhaps this may not be appropriate for the topic but last year I purchased a solid wood top cabinet that is 77"W x 20"D x 37.5"H from Seville Classics via Sams Club. It is currently on sale right now for $479. It comes in Granite, Red, and Graphite. It has to be assembled as it is shipped on 2 pallets. There are 11 drawers and a 2 door cabinet. None of the drawers are long drawers. It was an interesting build but not difficult. I really like mine.

I have the Yukon 9-drawer workbench. I got it because it was only 18" deep. It's my grinding/sharpening station. In addition to my sharpening jigs, stones, and related items, I use the drawers to hold other tools that I use frequently. I wanted a grinding/sharpening station because I do a lot of woodturning. I like that it's only 18" deep because it allows me to station the cart in the middle of my shop, right behind my back when I'm standing at the lathe, while allowing enough room to walk past the cart on both the front and back side. (My shop is only 12' wide. Space is at a premium.)
Would the Husky, with its built-in powerstrip worked as well or better for me? Maybe. But I got the Yukon for $300 when it was on sale for Inside Track Club members. Besides, I bought one of the US General powerstrips that attach to the cart with magnets. (It was on sale, too.) After I've used it for a while, I find I prefer the powerstrip to be on the back of the cart, not the side. I have a grinder and a Tormek permently mounted to the top of the cart. It just works better to have their power cords routed to the back of the cart rather than the side.
Finally, I'll repeat my assertion that the less expensive Yukon cart, with the cabinets underneath rather than the drawers, is worth considering. I like the 9-drawer cart for my purposes, but I still have some bulky benchtop tools that I don't have a good place to store. For such items, the less expensive Yukon cart would be a good option.

Best budget tool storage is one you build yourself. Years ago when I needed a workbench, I had loads of time one winter. I built a 73 x 24 workbench entirely out of 5/8th plywood, 2x4, and 2x6. Covered it all over with black enamel paint. 5,000 lb rated car parts shipping rack casters I got for free. Looks awesome, is heavy as sin, and will never fall apart. More susceptible to termite damage than Snap-on though. I think I might have $300 hard cash into it. I had a lot of the stuff I needed to build it already, like most of the lumber, and pretty much all the hardware. I just put shelves in the bottom of it, but drawers are entirely possible, or just doors with hinges and cam locks if you need to lock it. It'll outlast me, and probably even my kids. Might not be as cool as that weekly Strap-on payment, but money is cooler to me than a place to keep my tools.

American manufacturer and fully customizable. I've been working with them to design a cabinet that would maximize my tool storage and not just have the most drawers. I'm not sure if you have ever talked to them but I've been impressed. not cheap... but for a pro level cabinet still cheaper than a new snap on and customizable to your situation.

I know that parking lot sale will have the same box for $290, but the box had to ordered and it’s gonna take a month to get it. I’ll pay $10 to get it sooner. I just need a workbench I can move around.
6:46 I was originally going to get this red Husky box at Home Depot. Online it said my local store had 3 in stock for $300. After two hours of looking and waiting, the store manager says they can’t find them in the store. The next day I look online again, the price is up to $400 and there are now 5 in stock. @@johnseropyan when you say highest quality that’s kind of an open ended statement. You could be talking tool truck or industrial level boxes at that point. If you’re looking at nine drawer boxes, I would look at the Yukon if you are OK with an 18 inch depth if you want to go for something deeper, I would look at the husky other than that I would move up to the US General but above that you’re getting into professional level boxes

Whatabout the newer Craftsman " V-Series" Pro Settup. Seems someone over there has been listening and made a better box. LOL, Larry grew up about 10 minutes from my old house in California. In the stories you hear him talking about farms and cows that was just down the road from us. I almost included MHI but I thought Dresden would be an easier into for the newbies. Didn't want to throw them all into the deep end 😂. Oh, and speaking of MHI I was helping a buddy bring a car back from Wyoming and it was a long road trip so on the way back I put MHI on and it blew his mind. He was like "Why weren't we listening to this the entire time?!". He'd never listened to audiobooks before and now his wife complains to me about how much he listens to them.
