Do y'all have a favorite crock pot or slow cooker recipe? I'd love to hear about it!! Otherwise, I'd LOVE it if you'd just say hi in the comments to let me know you watched!! It's so much fun chatting with y'all!!
Ooh you’ll have to let me know if it’s good and share the recipe if so! I’m looking to try new things because I get tired of the same stuff easily! ☺️ Thanks for watching and commenting! Always means so much!!
Grocery bags are worth saving, I use them for scraps, peeled onions, anything you dont want to smell up the kitchen.. Tie up and throw in the trash can..
Love love love this! The idea of bagging up and freezing several meals ahead of time is brilliant. One days worth of work to prep weeks worth of food. Please continue with these videos!
Oh yay! I’m so happy to hear this was helpful to you!! It was amazing not having to cook for 2 whole weeks!! I’m thinking of sharing some freeze-ahead sheet pan dinner ideas next!
I prepped several of these recipes for the freezer. Today I prepped one chicken chili and cooked the other in an instant pot for 40 minutes with a quick release. I did drain off some of the bean juice from the cans before but not much. It turned out perfect. At first when I opened the pot I thought there was too much liquid but after I shedded the chicken there was a good ratio. I added a little salt and served the chilli with chips, cheese and sour cream. Chicken chilli will definitely stay in my rotation. THANK YOU!
Christy I recommend that you take two or three moist paper towels and put them underneath your cutting boards to keep them still and stable while you work. Thanks!
For the fajitas, I'd use one green and one red bell pepper. It just makes it more festive, visually. I've never even considered crock-potting fajitas. Brilliant!
I bought a mini crockpot as I'm a widow, I've found that to make homemade Hamburger Helper, you can use any type of noodles, pasta or macaroni and ground beef, ground turkey, chicken breasts or even tuna. Use tomato sauce, Alfredo sauce or use cream of chicken, mushroom or celery soup and half a can of milk for a sauce. The noodles or pasta cook right in the sauce and this will save time and energy as you don't have to boil a lot of water that will only go down the drain. The ground beef or turkey if you prefer, and chicken breasts have to be cooked ahead of time then added to the rest of the food. The meal cooks in 10-15 minutes. The chicken can be cut up into small pieces and added when the food is done. Makes two and a half servings. Just right for one person.
Quick tip for u to try. I take 2 of the the jumbo garlic and peal them and take a large bowl and a cheese grader and on the small grade side I grade all the cloves then put it in a large Mason jar and cover it and put olive oil to cover the garlic. This lasts me 2 months then put it in fridge. Great time savor. That's for the great videos... Kay
YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! Great idea... Prepping, bagging&freezing!! I wood cook, bag&freeze. Ur way is fresher&better. I'm ashamed I didn't think of it myself. I just subscribed. I wanna c more sweety.
Not sure if you knew it but putting onions in the freezer would make you have less tears. Loved your ideas of the plastic bag end of your cutting board. Thank you.
A couple of suggestions: (I learned this from another youtuber) put a crockpot liner in your crockpot and put in your ingredients. Tye off the liner & put inside ziplock bag. That way you don't lose any of the liquids pouring from ziplock into your crockpot. Amazon has 48 count crockpot liners.
I would hesitate to use the liners to cook your food though, as they are made of plastic, and you are cooking plastic into your food. The manufacturer may say they are heat safe, but why take the chance? Not to judge, just a nice safety tip.
I loved this video. I used my crock pot all the time when my children were still at home. I think I might break it back out again after watching this. TIP. If you put a damp paper towel under your cutting board it won't stop around. I sometimes forget to do that but it's safer when you're using a knife. I just noticed it slipping, or I would never have said that 🤗💗. I'm a new subscriber!
Aww welcome to the Channel! I’m so happy to have you here :) And thanks for the tip about the cutting board, you’re the 2nd person to mention that-such a great idea!
@@SimpleMomming Oh good! I don't remember where I heard that I mean it was years ago and I'm 58 years old so it could have been in my twenties lol 😅. Just really enjoyed the whole video.. it brought back memories of when I used to prep on Sunday and our neighbor's husband used to do the taste testing. I would send him over a sample of every recipe I did .. he was thrilled 😅.
Oh that’s so sweet, thanks for sharing that story with me ☺️ Did you used to make a lot of crockpot meals when you meal prepped or what were some of your favorite meals to meal prep? I’ve been experimenting with sheet pan “drop and bake” recipes lately!
Hi Christy, I just came across your channel yesterday, I love your ideas for crock pot meals. Regarding preparing onions, this is GUARANTEED to work, from the moment you start prepping onions until the moment they’re completely done and your hands are washed, breathe through your mouth only. This method is great for any unpleasant smells as well. Do try it, it’s definitely something I’m glad I learned.
Oh yay! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video and ideas! I hope they turn out great for you! You’ll have to let me know if you have any suggestions after trying them!
I totally enjoyed your video.....great ideas!!!!!!! Love how you say ingredients first & speed up process (I'm very impatient to sit through videos) you're great!!!!!! Keep these coming cause I'm constantly cooking!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!! very enjoyable presentations!!!
I’m so glad this was helpful!! I definitely want to do more cooking videos in the future! I do have a playlist of all my cooking videos that you can check out if you want to see more simple meals :)
Our Fire Life if I ever get a crockpot I know that’s the way I’ll be cooking, like opening the fridge and pantry and mixing whatever sounds good together 😂
One of my favorite crock pot recipes is Creamy Chicken and Stuffing, it's so good!! I have a lot of health issues so I depend on my crock pot and I learned last year about slow cooker liners; they're a huge time saver for me because I don't have to scrub my crock. I just subscribed.
Thank you Christy for these recipes, what a good idea and I shall try them. I sometimes make chili con carne in the crockpot. Just fry best ground beef, onion, garlic, celery, carrots, two tins of crushed tomatoes, sundried tomatoes (about 1/4 cup) chili powder (approx. 4 teas) cumin (approx. 1 teas) cinnamon (1/2 teas) Cook all of this on stove for about 10 mins until meat is browned and then wack it into crockpot on low, maybe six hours. Add tin red kidney beans (drained). Excellent for parties. Adjust ingredients to suit. You can thank Jamie Oliver for this one. Enjoy. love Ann in South Australia.
Thank you for coming back and letting everyone know how it turned out!! I’m so happy to hear you liked everything! The chicken chili was our favorite too!! ☺️
Great video love the meal ideas, going to try and prep them and now I would rather do it this way instead of jamming my regular fridge freezer full of ingredients it will be full of prepped meals so YAY YUMMYINESS 👍🏻👍🏻💜🤗❤️👵🏼 TFS
Thank you! Corona Quarantine comfort food! Enjoyed the process and learned a few tips. Love making huge portions, freezing leftovers, and reheating weeks later in those small 2qt crock
Add some butter and a 1/3-1/2 packet of ranch and that shredded beef turns into Mississippi pot roast. More flavor. So good and only 2 more ingredients Nice video thx :)
I love these vids, they are great, i just wish i could find a bundle of slow cooker recipes that weren't spicy or full of cheese as were picky eaters in our house.
Loved this most definitely will start doing to eat more heathy and get dinner ready for two of us here it should definitely last a long time thank you sooooo much Christy loved this looked super yummy too great recipes
These dishes look tasty. I'll have to try them. The idea of preparing in advance and freezing will no doubt save lots of time, which appeals to me as family cook.
Great video, awesome tips, and the recipes look pretty tasty! But am I the only one who died a little inside when the beans were dumped into the bag without being RINSED?
Thank you, there’s two days (and days where I my little one won’t let me cook) where I can’t cook, so something I can have ready is amazing. Now I’ve just gotta get it done. 🙂
I didn’t have to cook for 2 whole weeks! It was great!! 😆 Once you have all the ingredients on hand it should only take a couple hours max to make everything. I hope you enjoy the meals!! Thanks for watching and commenting!! 💗
I love this video..and Not for the short time it takes to prep, but for actual prep tutorial...The Pepperonchini pot roast is actually called Mississippi Pot Roast! 🙂
Yvonne Henke Krautwald I think it's ok to trim SOME of the fat, just not all, because as you said, flavor.💜 But she made some super yummy sounding recipes none the less!
I am in no way picking on you. I am letting you know that what this lady is cutting off is really collagen which is essential to skin, hair health and the omega's are found in this tissue too. By all means trim the fat, this is the white/yellow cheesy looking stuff under the skin off by pulling it off helps you to evaluate whether you have fat of connective tissue.
Love the ideal. And the meals for 2 is much needed. Thank you. I immediately hit the like and subscribe. Before watching it all. I’m exhausted watching you but I’ll give the roast and veggies a try. Keep up the good work. 😊
Great Meals!! I live in Laos. But I have several utensils that most Lao people do not use. One is a slow cooker. And I miss not watching the BRONCOS on T.V.
Oh yay! I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed the vid! I hope you love the meals too! It was nice not having to cook for a couple weeks! 🤣 Also, thanks for joining the channel and taking the time to comment! 💗
@@SimpleMomming I do! One is a salsa chicken recipe on Mama to Five's channel, and on my channel an Italian Crock-Pot chicken recipe and a spinach artichoke dip recipe.
Just a tip! So much added salt in the juice of the beans. It’s basically the cooking water. The beans are cooked in the cans and they sit in their juices. I saw you hesitate that’s why I said something. 😉
I meal prep with a crockpot most weeks, cooking for 1 can be tough but really looking forward to trying these out! I love the freezer bag meals, and have made some really good ones on baking sheets, but didn't ever think about it for the crockpot... Just found your channel, good stuff and looking forward to more!
Aww welcome to the channel! I’m so glad to have you here!! It is hard cooking for 1!! I agree! I hope you love these crockpot meals and that they help out! It was so nice not having to cook for a couple weeks! I also LOVE sheet pan meals!! Maybe I’ll do a video on that someday! Do you have any sheet pan recipe suggestions you’d recommend me trying? I’m always looking to learn new meals!! 💕
@@SimpleMomming My favorite sheet pan recipe that I've made is onion, broccoli, Fuji apples, bell peppers, sweet potatoes, and smoked sausage of whatever variety I'm in the mood for. I chop everything into mixable sized pieces, toss in some olive oil, and assorted standard spices, and bake! I'll usually make rice to go with it... Relatively healthy, extremely delicious, and I can eat it all week without getting tired of it :)
Oh my goodness that sounds amazing!! I’m going to have to try that now! I love how easy sheet pan meals are I just sometimes run out of ideas but this sounds really good! Do you like to make up the recipes yourself or do you have a favorite resource that inspires you for the sheet pan dinners? 😃
@@SimpleMomming I got this one from this website originally cafedelites.com/garlic-herb-chicken-sweet-potato-sheet-pan-meal-prep/ And then just sub out ingredients as I see fit :) This recipe originally called for chicken, but I've found that I prefer sausage.
Thank you so much. Would have loved to see the chicken teriyaki recipe. If you have trouble stuffing all the ingredients in a bag you can just write a note on the ziploc bag to add it to the crockpot before cooking. (Like the tomato sauce). Love your idea of putting a bag at the end of your cutting board!! You work very efficiently!!
wow..... You are absolutely gorgeous! I literally didn't hear anything you said because your eyes are so hypnotizing! Your husband is a very lucky man, I hope he realizes it!
To open a jar, you have to break the vacuum seal. The easy way to do that is to place the tip of a stiff-bladed paring knife just under the lip of the lid and pull the handle of the knife away from the jar. You should hear the distinctive pop of the vacuum seal being broken, and the lid will come right off. Been doing this for years, and it works every time. An ice pick will probably work, too.
I love this idea! I like cutting off all that fat, too. There's only one of me so I could make even smaller portions - Cut into fourths for some of them and then others just cut the meat in half and eat it for longer. Thanks so much for posting this! Subscribed. 👍🏼
I 'm dying to know what the song is at the end of your video. Also I love those recipes and I'm excited to try that form of prepping my meals. Thanks :)

why not use boxes instead? stacks well, easy to clean and reuse?

To keep from crying when cutting onions, run under cold water first, I've done this for years and it works.
Wow! I will try to remember this next time! Thank you! ☺️
Dont remove the root end while you are chopping. It will help keep your eyes from stinging.

Great Meals!! I live in Laos. But I have several utensils that most Lao people do not use. One is a slow cooker. And I miss not watching the BRONCOS on T.V.
Or rather, I miss watching the BRONCOS on T.V.
New subscriber. Enjoyed this video, definitely going to make these meals!💜💜💜💜💜💜
Oh yay! I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed the vid! I hope you love the meals too! It was nice not having to cook for a couple weeks! 🤣
Also, thanks for joining the channel and taking the time to comment! 💗

Thanks so much for sharing these!! Love your crockpot meals, really simple ingredients and taste amazing!! 😍
Thank you! So glad it was helpful!!
Enjoyed this very much! Id love to see how the finished products came out!
These sound so yummy! I love using my Crock-Pot and love trying new recipes. Just came over from a beautiful horizon's channel.
Oh yay!! I’m so glad to have you here! I love A Beautiful Horizon!!! Do you have any favorite crockpot meals you’d recommend me trying? ☺️
@@SimpleMomming I do! One is a salsa chicken recipe on Mama to Five's channel, and on my channel an Italian Crock-Pot chicken recipe and a spinach artichoke dip recipe.
Ooh those do sound good! I will have to check out your channel!! 💕
Just a tip! So much added salt in the juice of the beans. It’s basically the cooking water. The beans are cooked in the cans and they sit in their juices. I saw you hesitate that’s why I said something. 😉
Thank you for the suggestion!!
I completely agree with Melissa, I’ve always been taught to drain and rinse any type of can beans except for kidney beans.

Why not kidney beans?
@@SimpleMomming I got this one from this website originally cafedelites.com/garlic-herb-chicken-sweet-potato-sheet-pan-meal-prep/
And then just sub out ingredients as I see fit :) This recipe originally called for chicken, but I've found that I prefer sausage.
We tried the recipe tonight! It was delicious, thanks again for sharing it!! I’m sure it will be a repeat meal for sure! :)
I just purchased a slow cooker. I will defo be using these recipes :)
Oh yay! I hope you like them! I think the chili was our favorite.
Chop onion into 4ths. Throw in food processor. It dices it a big batch quickly. Freeze half a cup at a time.
Thanks for the tip!
Really enjoyed watching this video. And, thanks for leaving the links, very helpful. New your channel and a new subscriber.
I’m happy to have you as part of the youtube fam :)
Your recipes look great. Was wondering for the chicken chili is it necessary to pour all the bean liquid in the can?
Thank you so much. Would have loved to see the chicken teriyaki recipe. If you have trouble stuffing all the ingredients in a bag
you can just write a note on the ziploc bag to add it to the crockpot before cooking. (Like the tomato sauce). Love your idea of putting a bag at the end of your cutting board!! You work very efficiently!!
Such a great idea to add a note to the bag! Love it!! 💗
wow..... You are absolutely gorgeous! I literally didn't hear anything you said because your eyes are so hypnotizing! Your husband is a very lucky man, I hope he realizes it!
Thank you, but actually I am the lucky one ☺️
Excellent camera quality and love the video! New to your channel
Thank you so much for taking the time to make such an encouraging comment and welcome to the channel!! I hope you’ll enjoy the videos here! :)
I use a bottle cap opener. Knifes can accidently cut you.
Nice job .and HiGH I liked you're videos
Thanks looks delish God bless
Thank you!! I am so glad this was helpful!! I’ll have to make more cooking videos soon! 💕
I love this idea! I like cutting off all that fat, too. There's only one of me so I could make even smaller portions - Cut into fourths for some of them and then others just cut the meat in half and eat it for longer. Thanks so much for posting this! Subscribed. 👍🏼
Hi please do post more videos like these thank you xx
New subscriber here. Loved the video. Thanks so much.
definitely want to try a few of these recipes❤
Oh yay! You’ll have to let me know how you like them or if you have any suggestions! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!! ☺️
I 'm dying to know what the song is at the end of your video. Also I love those recipes and I'm excited to try that form of prepping my meals. Thanks :)
The song is called “I Go Blind” by The Eastern Plain ☺️ Thanks for watching!!
