1-2 lb chicken breasts, trimmed (2-3 chicken breasts depending on size)
1 can cream of chicken soup
    2 packets chicken gravy mix

Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours, break chicken apart and serve with sides of your choice. I served this with mashed potatoes and butternut squash.
I recommend cooking on LOW for 6-8 hours but this can be cooked on HIGH for 4-5 hours.

    1/2 tsp garlic powder
    generous pinch of kosher salt
    pinch black pepper
1/4 - 1/3 cup heavy cream or milk
    Butternut Squash:
    1 large butternut squash

Jenn this smelled AMAZING cooking. I used Bell's Seasoning for my poultry seasoning, and about 6 decent size chicken thighs (prefer it to breasts) but used all the other same ingredients you did. I wanted to see how it would turn out made in the pressure cooker so I made this in my Crock Pot Express Cooker (or Instant Pot if you have that one instead). I did mine for 25 minutes on high pressure, it came out amazing! Thanks for sharing.♥

Looks real good over the mashed taters!
My daughter likes to read aloud to me as well
You asked about how we make our own mashed taters...
I sliced them so they cook faster
When they're done, I turn the heat to low
After draining, they go back in the pot on the low burner
First I mash them with butter
I add the milk last, because I want the butter to melt all the way
After adding milk, mashing and stirring, I'll add milk as needed
    That's it!
    Thank You for sharing

I made this minus the garlic powder just because of a serious picky eater & it is just as delicious as it looks!
My picky eater has autism and would never eat anything like this before but has already asked for it again and again since the first time we made it!
We used this recipe as a base to make it a chicken stew by simply adding carrots, celery, little baby golden potatoes cut into 1/4s & served over white buttery steamed rice & it is now our ultimate comfort dinner! Lasts all week as a great snack or take to work in Tupperware to!

Hello Jann. I'm new to your channel and I'm so happy I found you. I skimmed through some of your recipes and sounds like your tastes for foods and same as mine. I made this Crockpot Chicken and Gravy recipe and it was delicious. You asked us to let you know how we make our mashed potatoes. I do the same preparing and shopping my potatoes as you do. I drain them when done. I empty hot water off and put my pan back on the hot burner, which helps evaporate all the leftover water. (Burner turned off - but still hot). Depending on how many I make, i usualy use 1/2 to 1 stick of salted buterr (to eliminate using raw salt which is better for you healthwise). I mash the potatoes and butter together with a potato masher. When mashed, I start adding Carnation canned milk 1/2 cup at a time while I'm whipping the potatoes by hand. I stop when everything is combined and heavily whipped and smooth. This was my mother in law's method and the carnation milk I'd never had in them before. But once I ate hers, it took them to the next level and been making them the same way ever since. I've received numerous compliments on my mashed potatoes for years now. When I want them some other way,, I add some Hidden Valley Ranch Dip Mix into them which is also really good alsol But for a big meal and company I always resort the original version I gave you. Thank you very much for sharing such wondeful recipes for all of us. You are appreciated. I hope you and your family have a Joyous and Merry Christmas filling with love. Linda D. from Texas.

I did enjoy this video. I just purchased a 7-quart Crock pot like yours yesterday. I was looking for ideas and I love this one. I make my mash potatoes like you do, but I use milk and a spoonful of sour cream because I don't always have heavy cream on hand. I add chive flakes instead of pepper. The squash I make is also similar to yours. But I use pumpkin pie spice instead of cinnamon and maple syrup instead of the sugar. I am sure it tastes similar. Thank you. I look forward to watching more of your videos.

  • @timothykaczmarek5871

You can use cream of onion soup or cream of mushroom soup. Also, boneless pork chops will work. Add 2 cups of white wine like a Chardonnay TO the canned soup and get ALL of the soup from the can!!! Add a can of drained mushrooms if you like, and this comes out TERRIFIC. Two types of meat, and 3 choices for soup. I've done this several times. The wine, soup mix and soup of your choice makes an awesome meal!!

    • @timothykaczmarek5871
      @timothykaczmarek5871 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Also, feel free to use some chopped onions or some of the frozen onions if you want. Use, instead of 2 cups of wine if it seems like too much, definitely one can of white wine to get all the soup from the can, and a can of chicken broth. We learned in culinary classes to always use wine or broth in any case instead of plain old water! The flavor is markedly enhanced, and no, you will NOT get drunk.
