It’s wonderful that you found those historic documents. Maybe the mayor knows of an organization that can be contacted to work with them, as this kind of information is valuable to the Château and the surrounding area. I wish you great joy and success in all that you do! Your seemingly boundless energy and enthusiasm are so needed and welcome in this world!
It is always a lovely to see your smiling faces and anything you get up to. It can be tough when a road ends but exciting to see what lies ahead. Blessings on you new adventure with a special home for you❣️
Fascinating discovery of the previous owner's research on the history of De Montmagner! I would think I had died and gone to heaven to be able to explore and clean an old attic!
I am going to hate you having to leave and keep hoping for a pot of gold from SOMEWHERE. But, wherever you go to whatever adventure, I am on for it. You are seeming to manage it well. Anyway, hang in there. We are with you forever.
I understand financial constraints but I would have loved to see all your plans come to fruition! I’m eagerly awaiting your next adventure while treasuring the time we can share on your current one.
You both are hard worker's it would have taken be a age to do it being 74 not a lot of energy been sorting out my sons room while he is on holiday he stripped his bed I said I would remake it done some as sorted a few bits still Have to Finnish it hay ho my knees don't like stairs 😂😂😂☕☕ Love Sue ❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤ Love Sue ❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
Did you finish your own accommodation or will that be left to the new owners to finish? Maybe stay in the finished suite until you go might as well be comfortable. I hope wherever you land next will be easier and more affordable for you :) you all did well and fabulous results and that will extend the demand in the selling price I think :) I had hoped Sean from Seans World would have come by to visit or Ryan to at least meet you in person and Terry and Ash see your hard work I hope they will.
last time we remember using francs it was about 10 francs to one pound, but that was a very good exchange rate at the time, so 230,000 francs would have been around 23,000 pounds or around 20,000 euros
230,000 Francs = 35,063.27 Euros = $36,506.01 US Dollars. This calculation is based on 2024 converter 230.000 Francs = $25.731.25 Based on 1985 historical converter. (Euro starts in 1998 and in that year would be roughly 35K Euros.)
Just to add my two pennies worth. ; ) Using a conversion calculator 230,000 was £29,129.54 francs in 1985 and in 2024 that is £90,878.67. Couldn't workout Euros due to it being 1985.
I’m sure everyone watching was hoping you would fine enough treasure to help you keep this beautiful place you have worked so hard to bring back to life 🥲. I can hear in your voice how much it means to you.
Lisa, I was so hoping you would find a big pot of gold so you and Ted could stay at your Chateau. Kathy USA 🇺🇸
I found a table of francs to the pound. In 1985 there were 11.531 francs to the pound. So 230000 is £19,946 😊
Your chateau is of historic significance. Surely help can come from that direction. ❤
I agree, seeing the beams is amazing. Love them. This is an awesome space. Love it!!! Wow you ladies have done a great job! Looks so much better.
Thank you so much!
Old documents and photos are the treasure!

Great job ladies!!! The attic looks amazing now!
Looking forward to this episode
How fun! I love digging through old piles of crap. Hi Charlene!
Would have been around $23k USD! Wow!
And all those stairs and bucket lifting, it’s a new form of Chateau CrossFit. 😂😂😂😂

Love the attic space the beams are amazing, wish you found treasures to share ❤
Me too!!
I hope if the Chateau sells you make your own copies to take with you. That way if something happens to the orginal copies history isn’t lost
Ahhh I was expecting a historical artifact of great value, instead I got a hysterical previous owner whose books are of great interest 😂🎉❤
Great

When I visited France just before the euro it was 10 french francs to the british pound.
Possible suggestion
Offer a special dinner based
on the menus you found in the attic by advance sale tickets at a fixed price $75-$100 per person
Great idea 💡
Charge higher than that amount.

I just googled franc to pounds 1985, it cost just short of £20,000.

Just think how long it must’ve taken to hand write those documents
Lesa the exchange rate in 1985 was between 10-12 franc to the £.
So sad the vieuwings did not continue to go up after the massive vieuwing numbers of the vlog when you announced that you where selling.
Some of those old baskets are work a lot of money in America.😮
In 1990 when we bought ours, it was 10 francs to one pound sterling
last time we remember using francs it was about 10 francs to one pound, but that was a very good exchange rate at the time, so 230,000 francs would have been around 23,000 pounds or around 20,000 euros
The conversion tables I found place it at around 42-43000 USD 😮
I hadn’t picked up earlier than a restaurant had been run there. Was it apparent in the layout or plumbing when you acquired the place?
I think it translates to 38,112.25 euros in 1985
Before I watched I saw comments about francs and thought you had found a cache of them! You wish!!
That would be nice 🙂
It was around 35k euros equivalent
230,000 Francs = 35,063.27 Euros = $36,506.01 US Dollars. This calculation is based on 2024 converter

Great video. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it
loved in particular the overhead view of the spiral staircase with you both dashing up and down it!
🫶🏻🌟👏👍🍀💐

The purchase was equivalent to £66,500 in today's money
I can't believe after the blood sweat and tears that you have put into this you would up and sell! It's really weird
Would’ve been £23,000 GBP whatever that is in euros
I think 230000 ff is about 35000€ but I could be wrong
230,000.00 French Francs = 35,063.274 Euros
€35,063 in 1985 would be €72,482.27 in 2024
Good research 👍😁
@@ChateauDeMontmagner you're welcome. I work on a computer and have these convertors saved for my research, so glad I could help 😃
I bet going up and down those stairs was quite a workout. No need for a gym.
The amount is 25,222.97 euros
There was no data for Francs 1985 to Euros 2024
35.000 /40.000 euro
I think it’s about 35000 euros
Presque 33000euros même pas une belle voiture aujourd'hui 😊
Thanks 👍
That attic would make an amazing banqueting hall.
You should offer the books for sale.
Please wear dust masks!!!
Now 35,063.274 Euros
