Just catching up on some older videos! I love this idea!!! I have smaller spaces that I don’t like to burn candles and not have electricity available in so this is a great alternative too
Hi! Can you please share with me how long do they last? Do they mold or something over time?? I've been thinking on doing some for sale, but first I'm doing some research. Thank U!
Update 1 week on. I made the citrus bliss which was quite mild and I also made the sugar and spice one, ( quite strong) omitting clove for cinnamon and oddly smells a bit like cola. Then bizzarly while reading the complete book of essential oils last night I read that the original coca cola recipe contained orange, lemon, nutmeg, cinnamon, coriander and neroli essential oils. I also used vegtable gelatine and only drilled 3 holes. Thanks once again
That's awesome! I usually do diffusers but wanted to try something different. These are pretty fun and I am definitely thinking stocking stuffers with these!
Wondering about put a white disc on top of the jar to keep the contents from not dripping out while transporting. I found lids at dollar store that already have holes in them but am concerned about making a basket full of goodies and that dripping out on to the fabric. any thoughts on what those white discs are called or where to purchase?
Perfect gift idea for my coworkers this year! I work with one year olds, so we’re always looking for ways to make the room smell better. Especially on the bad diaper days 😬😬😬😂
lol I was looking for something to use and your video was the best... and might I point out, the easiest to follow... I added extra gelatine to fix the problem of melting fast in the hot weather... works a treat, thanks :-)
We need this!!! I am so sensitive to fragrances and only oils as I pretty ok with. Yay I’m so excited. Also where do I buy the essential oils you use. Haha I wrote all this before clicking the description
No problem!! Check out my link and if you are interested I have a pretty sweet deal going on right now. It is all on the link: shopoils.com/laura-ascher/
Hello ma'am, can you please give an estimate on how long the scent would last? Also do I need to place a table top fan next to the Diy freshener to diffuse the scent even more or does it diffuse by itself? Thanks in advance.
Hi, thanks for this recipe! Definitely going to try this for my home and my car.. im just curious, which one will last long? This gel type or the one with carrier oil?
Greetings from the UK and thank you very much for this. When you say it will last a couple of weeks scent wise, do you mean with the top with holes punched on all the time? Im thinking to use 2 lids one without holes and then put the one with holes on sparingly. Also would occasionally shaking the jar help get a stronger scent once it begins fading ?
You're welcome! Thanks for following along with me!! Yes I mean with the vented lid. You can add essential oils to the top whenever the scent starts to fade if you want to make it last longer.
Could I use something else instead of the gelatin to make it a suitable gift for a Vegan friend? .... I love your videos they're so informative and inspiring thanks ❤️
What great idea....just wondering how long the scent lasts...? How strong in terms of drops of essential oils and size of room (I am in a small apartment )😉
You're welcome! I have ones that I made a little over a week ago and they are still smelling pretty strong. The smell will fade after a few weeks. You can add a couple drops of essential oil to the top whenever it starts to lose the smell to make it last a little longer.
I made these for the first time today. My plans are to put one in my car and then a few other places. If using the fabric on top, do you still need the jar lid with the holes in it or just the ring holding the fabric down? Also, if I want to make these a head of time for gifts, how long will they store with the lids on and no holes? How long does the small mason jar usually last people?
If you do the fabric on top you can skip the lid! They last for several weeks and then you can just add drops of essential oils back on top when needed.
They last for a couple weeks, scent wise, but the gel air fresheners will hold up much longer. When they start to lose scent you can add a few drops on the top to make them smell stronger again!
I liked the tutorial but it did not turn out well. I had to refrigerate it and then when they came out it had bad gel setting at room temp. I was going to use these as gifts. I'm very disappointed.
Woah. Honestly, this is just amazing. I'm always into stuff like this and this might be my new favorite thing.
Just catching up on some older videos! I love this idea!!! I have smaller spaces that I don’t like to burn candles and not have electricity available in so this is a great alternative too
Just made one of these for a baby shower gift basket for a friend! It was so easy and smells incredible.

I love this idea especially with toddlers running around. or for my job where wax warmers are a no no. Thanks for the great video
You are so welcome!
How long does it last? Im planning to make these because gel fresheners here in my country is kinda expensive

Thank you for sharing!!
What was the book you read? Name & author?
Very well explained a process with simplicity. Excellent !
Thank you so much!!
Really cute , Ive been wanting to do this craft with Vegan gelatin too . Thanks for the recipe n technique for the top of the Mason Jars . Thanks
Thank you so much for the recipe! I used to make air fresheners years ago with those little jelly balls, this sounds sooo much better!!

This is such a great idea!
Thanks, we are loving them! They are still going strong over here.
All the essential oil pools at the top because oil and water don't mix. How did you accommodate for this?

Hahaha yes these would be great for that!! You can check out my room sprays too!
I like this idea to ditch candles. Thank you!
Glad you like them!
watched this a couple of hours ago...and now I have two of these deodorants in my home...thank you
WOW you are on top of it!
lol I was looking for something to use and your video was the best... and might I point out, the easiest to follow... I added extra gelatine to fix the problem of melting fast in the hot weather... works a treat, thanks :-)
Huh. I would expect that to spoil, but if you say it works...
I‘m definitely going to try it...it’s a cool idea!
Rara Avis I think the salt acts as a preservative.
Yes exactly!
Thank you! The salt helps with preserving.
Thank you, for this; what a great idea for a Kwanzaa gift this year! I was looking for something!
You're welcome!!
Very nice video Gel mam God bless you ...Good afternoon Bay Bay🖐💐
What a great idea! And so easy to do. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much!!
1) How long does it usually need to set?
2) Are you supposed to put in the fridge to make the "gel" it will it do it room temp?
About 8-12 hours. I left mine at room temp.
Brilliant idea. I am going to try this one.
Pour a cup of water
Heat
Add salt to Dissolve
2tbs of u flavored gelatin -mix till it melts
Add essential oil
I just found your Channel last night you are so good at what you do 🍓
Thank you so much!

Hi, thanks for this recipe! Definitely going to try this for my home and my car.. im just curious, which one will last long? This gel type or the one with carrier oil?
I personally like the gel one best!
Is it okay to cover these and then uncover only when needed...like at night? Might help the scent last longer??
Yes of course! I have mine covered with just a piece of fabric and they are holding up great!
What would be the best way to make these of you were to sell them? I have seen so many recipes for these, I’m so confused
How long before they start to mold?

Good morning mam God bless you very nice video and very good idea💐
Thanks a lot!

I have not tried that yet, but will need to look into it.
If your friend is ok with algae then agar agar is a better substitute for gelatine.
How many 40z jars does the recipe in the description box make/
how long would it last and also wouldnt it go bad without any preservation system ?
You can add an antioxidant like vitamin E antioxidant or rosemary antioxidant to help extend the shelf life of if desired.
Great idea! can I substitute the gelatin with agar agar powder? thanks :)
I have not tried that yet so I am not sure.
What great idea....just wondering how long the scent lasts...? How strong in terms of drops of essential oils and size of room (I am in a small apartment )😉
A couple weeks, you can then add more essential oils to the tp to extend them!
If you have no lids for freshness can you use just material
Yes!
Can I use normal perfume to replace the essential oil?
How long lasting fragrance...
How long do they last in the jar ?
Love this! Thank you!
You're welcome!
Beautiful! Thanks
Glad you like it!
Thank you
Love your haircut! :)
Aww thank you!
What does the salt do?
Can I use beef unflavored gelatin for this DIY?
Yes that is what I use!
@@ouroilyhouse Sorry for conformation. I can use the beef unflavored gelatin for the gel air freshners? Just want to make sure 👍
Can you add alcohol to it?
Can you make less than that batch so if it doesn't work out or you don't like it, you don't waste it?
Yes you can!
I made these yesterday and they keep melting back to liquid when not in the refrigerator
Hmmm mine didn't do that. I had them out for months. What temp is your house?
@@ouroilyhouse 75ish so not extremely hot
@@ouroilyhouse and definitely melted in the car, which it was hot out there.
mine did too, but it is hot here, so I added more gelatin...problem solved...hope this helps
How long it last you didn't say.
may I know what the purpose of salt is ?
Prevent mold. I think u can use baking soda too because it is a preservative in baked foods
@@DJ-yz4fe ok Thanks :)
Plus the names of the ingredients plus am in ghana
Thank you for the recipes! Will be making these soon. Do they normally last awhile (month..) and does the gelatin dissipate?
You're welcome! I have ones that I made a little over a week ago and they are still smelling pretty strong. The smell will fade after a few weeks. You can add a couple drops of essential oil to the top whenever it starts to lose the smell to make it last a little longer.
@@ouroilyhouse where do I purchase the unflavored geletin??
What is the reason for diluting salt? Would it make a difference without salt?
To prevent mold
can you use agar if you're vegan?
Is it okay to use agar agar powder instead of gelatin to make it vegan?
I haven't tired that yet but if it makes things gel like gelatin it should work.
@@ouroilyhouse Alright, thank you! (:

How long it can last before it expires?
They last one month

Thanks for following along all the way from India! You're welcome!
What if we used an ordinary gellatin? Is it works.. i like your content btw, thx
Yes it will still work!
@@ouroilyhouse thx
Why use salt?
Nice
My gelatine not set why
How long does this last

Your awsome
I did it, but it's still liquid now like 3 days
Hmm maybe something was off? Did you change any of the ingredients?
I liked the tutorial but it did not turn out well. I had to refrigerate it and then when they came out it had bad gel setting at room temp. I was going to use these as gifts. I'm very disappointed.
