If you need to replace the fan, or the disk drive this video will show you how to get inside and disassemble your system. Since this system isnt the newest on the market anymore, its cheaper to replace the parts yourself than it is to send it in for repairs.

I might add that the 6 screws that need to be removed are torx (6 point) screws.

Edit: The normal white Jasper 360 has a eject disc issue, which is super common with these original models; it was also opened due to the warranty sticker being sliced in half. The black one works fine, but it's very noisy and was never opened, which is why I am watching this video.

JerryRigEverything I get to the point where you have to push in the back clips and they don't click and open. I lift up the front ones perfectly fine but it's just the back ones that give me a hard time

you probably need to make a tool with the 7 infinitely thin 1 mm wide metal pieces to hit it at once, with 2 champion arm wrestlers at both corners pulling

Glad I finally got round to cleaning out my RGH 360 with the help of this video as there were thick clumps of dust around the top vents and dust around the fan housing and blades
So i learned today crackdown 1 & 2 is retroplayable, and after bying crackdown 3 and being so disappointed.
I figured I'd play the old ones on the xbox one.
But the 360 ate my crackdown 1, and your video helped me get the very first game id ever bought and played. Thank you, now i just need to wait for the games to get installed.
I thought something was wrong with my Xbox 360, but when I opened it there was dust everywhere and there was a few dead little bugs 🙄😂 the last guy didn't know how to clean and thanks for teaching me how to open it piece by piece 👍

I got my fat 360 for Christmas 2008. I was 1e then so understandably the thought I'd need to ever open and clean this thing never occurred 2 me xD it's now 2024 and I STILL haven't, but I'm about to after some concerning noises. Thanks for the video man

When changing out the DVD drive you can't just swap it out for the same model, the motherboard has a set key, and if the DVD drive key doesn't match then it will not read disks, you use a computer and a program to obtain your DVD key from your old DVD drive then use any Xbox 360 DVD drive and load that key with the firmware and it will play on that Xbox, as long as the key matches the motherboard any 360 drive will work, as for lite-on 360 drives, another tool is needed to obtain the DVD key. You don't need it, but it is extremely hard to obtain the key without it.
After having the 360 since its release date I think it’s time I clean and repair it. It’s been in working condition all these years until recently my younger sibling broke the disk tray 😢

the red ring of death is a very common problem of the xbox 360, but if you modify your cooler you can prevent this problem.

My son put a coin where the discs go and now it wont open or close , it's slightly opened but wont move . When I click the eject button , the xbox turns off . I can hear the coin move around but it won't come out

I just realized this is an old video and I actually still have a second gen Xbox 360 and it never had a malfunction. The reason I know it's a second gen is because it has a native HDMI port. Also, second gen. Xboxes have been known to get rid of rings as well as the first gen, but they did do a couple things to increase the durability like add epoxy to the GPU and the make the motherboard a little more rigid. I know someone who had an elite That got red ring of death.
It's almost impossible to get that back part off without a special tool. It's called the "repair tool", which comes with a t8/10 screwdriver. It gets those tabs down without breaking everything...
