HSV's are awesome... I wish I could get my hands on one but they just aren't worth their asking prices... Have you seen the Ecotec Commodore supposedly owned by Peter Brock for $1.5 million? That's how crazy Aussie car prices have become!
I saw that. That bloke is out of his mind 🤣
@@LucPG03 IKR!
saw that on carsales xD. Yellow VT correct?
@@VZBOYY yep with over 200000 km on the odo.
@@VZBOYY No it's a VX series 2 S pack manual with 203,000km on the clock! There's much more I could buy for $1.5m and the seller states that his HDT VK sold for the same price... But there's a big difference between a standard Ecotec Commy and a rare classic...
Great reminder of what Aussie design and development used to be. Ross delivers the goods once again.
Cheers Cam! Love these Aussie built street machines
As a Ford guy I reckon that's savage !
Sure do miss FPV & HDT/HSV, I still have dreams that they will be back someday !✌👍
i love the HSV models this one is my favourite tho
Love the shape, love the LS2. VZ FTW.
Had #16 of this model from new sold to me by Shacks Fremantle.
2 1/2 SS Manta system with ceramic coated Pace Maker headers. MAFless tune by MWS in York with Yella Terra OTR. 373RWHP.
Black Magic, I Miss her
Why did you sell it?
@@MartinJones123 racked up a 100,000km and sold it and bought an E2 GTS.
@@kitemett Oh... Did you mod the GTS?
@@MartinJones123 only lowered on coilovers. Still got it. th-cam.com/video/R0oKu5PMQG4/w-d-xo.html
MATE THAT NOISE! WOW
It’s loud and so good
That’s gotta be the best sounding and best looking VZ ever. Loved the review !
Thanks bro was a mint example
Yes mate I love it,a good old HSV VZ beast of a thing & in mint condition as well,so hats off to the owner for that & as you already know Johnny another 10/10 review lol.
this one was a real treat to experience :)
I would love one of these even if it's just for a day, that sound is mint and that looks mad fast
It’s an amazing machine
The bloodline of the Toll HSV Dealer Team ClubSport is no less obvious. Distinctive ‘Orange’ body accenting contrasts superbly with the ‘Phantom Black’ paint finish which is joined by five-spoke alloy wheels in “Iron Frost” a pair of ‘HSV Dealer Team’ logos on the rear spoiler and unique badging.
Like their race team relatives, the under skin specifications are all about peak performance. Here there’s no better way to start than with HSV’s exclusive, high output 6.0litre LS2 V8 (297kW @ 6000rpm and 530Nm @ 4400rpm) coupled to a Tremec M12 six-speed manual transmission. For a precise, sporting chassis response to match there’s HSV Performance Suspension (as fitted to ClubSport R8 models), a set of semi competition Yokohama tyres and an HSV Power Steering Oil Cooler. R8 with stickers unfortunately that was copied straight off the HSV website absolutely nothing different than color combination and badges.... Best HSV IMO the VZs.
I see there was a snap shot of my Toll VZ
awesome! haha all i could find online.. such a rare beast
Another great review Ross. Love the sound and look of it. Can’t go wrong with a VZ.
thanks brother! was a mint VZ
Holden really knows how to make a V8 sound good... I wish I could say the same about some other manufacturers, (Especially Euro ones)
Love those wheels and it sounds the ducks guts. I bleed blue but can certainly appreciate this beast 💪
Id love this next to my typhoon
I love these V8 reviews. Nothing beats that sound 😍
i just made a new V8 only Playlist ;) enjoy
@@RossReviewsau thanks mate!! Keep up the good work 👍

you can see them all now right here :) hope it brings some good memories
In terms of owning both I’ve had a barra territory and currently on an sv6 ve2 ute and loved both

This was my dream car when I was a kid
Still a dream car of mine.. want one next to my typhoon
Warrens machine, great video. Ive got build 20. Cool car to own as so many think its a std Clubby but then they ask questions because of the differences. Glad I got it when I did as couldn't afford to buy it now
G’day Adam, the HSVDT edition is now live, good honest review. It was great too showcase the cars we have
Awesome stuff mate! I wish I had of been lucky enough to buy one a few years ago! Really epic cars
Amazing video ross love the hsv ls2 monster
Cheers brother
Wish I didn't sell my ssz had one in mint condition with head work big cam etc
would be worth a mint
@@RossReviewsau had fun with it had to sell it the misses didn't like getting high of the fumes lol
My old man is kicking himself big sold he series VY series 2 R8 only 88,000km in 2015 the price is more than tripled in the last 7 years as the saying goes if only we had that crystal ball.
damn.. yup that would have been worth a mint now
i seen one in my small town and its sitting in the shed literally only has like 20000km on it looks sick as wish i had one
Damn! Collector waiting to cash in?
I drive a BA fairmont and i love this car ford made the drivers seat too high but i can live with that
The gear stick looks scared when at idling 😂
🤣 she knew what she was doing tho out on the road
💯🔥👍🏾💥🇭🇲 I love that car looks great colour 🖤🧡
Thanks 💯
my neighbour has one in white and it looks sick
These only came out in phantom black.
@@kers225abk2 forgot to mention i was talking about the normal one

Whoopty fck. How interesting, NOT.
Good episode, I did not know they even made that model?
Love to inform 👌🇦🇺
Can't wait till you you drive my VE 😉
Send me a pm bro!
Excellent ..Hola from NZ
Thanks brotha 👏
Great review and the VZ is off it's head these commodores make good power
Not bad at all for NA power
Very cool, the M12 is still a T56 but with an improved synchroniser design
Fair call.. I was unsure on that
Closer gear ratios too..
God damn, that is one awesome HSV.
You ain’t wrong bro
Awesome review John!
Cheers brother
Goooo the VZ-V8. Great work m8.
Cheer Paul
offt sounds and looks mint, lucky owner that!
Very lucky owner
This is probably the rarest HSV car ever built by Holden and the only one built to celebrate toll winning the V8 supercars championship. They should have made it lighter it's to heavy great car sounds so good.
she's definitely rare.. im glad its more than a sticker kit at least with some good handling up grades
@@RossReviewsau yes I love the look of the car and all the added upgrades
This car is so rare I have never heard of it and it hasn't even showed up at any recent Lloyd s car auctions.
There is one rarer, this is HSVTDT edition they also made a HSVDT edition came with six pot front AP racing brakes, 18” oz racing rims, Ohlins shocks, leather seats, and the rest of the HSVTDT upgrades, power steering cooler, constant ratio rack, M12 gearbox etc. It was a project by the team after hours too throw everything they had at the time too make the ultimate VZ before the platform changed too VE. 30 only made
@@TheOzwoz Really
What a machine very good very nice 👏 👌
Love a good vz
If you ever tested my car- I would certainly hop out and lose the extra weight - let alone add any extra mates to contribute to a pretty average 0-100 time.
Yeh it’s a bit hard to ask them to get out 😅 sometimes they do sometimes they don’t
@@RossReviewsau understand. Surely they understand they are screwing over their own stats?
I agree with you I have a bf typhoon same as you but I always did like the very and vz
Nice one mate! The VZ is up there with the Typhoon.. I hope to have a VZ manual V8 one day next to the Fpv
Another awesome car the mighty VZ
Love a good VZ
Got one vz cluby manual
The best
How are people commenting on this already and ive been waiting for the last 2 hours and it says still 55 minutes to go?
Channel members mate.
patreon members ;)
That car sounds bonza!
Goes like the clappers too
Awesome review Ross. 3:00 Interesting to see your foot work whilst wearing your racing shoes. 😜
Aussie racing shoes 😂
🤣🇦🇺 the owner was a true blue
@@RossReviewsau as a person who's newish to this great country of ours, well said mate! 👍
Great Review Ross 👌 love the VZ see if you could review the Supercharged GTO Limited Edition at Westside Auto keep up the great work.
Ohhh do they have that? I’ll have to check with them
@@RossReviewsau Yeah have a look should be an Awesome to drive in Manual as well.
i managed to get my HRT ed (#11) with 48K klms in 2012 for 30K + VY II SS trade in, in a car yard. haha
Good score
Those t56 gearbox’s are amazing. 80 kph 1st gear
it's not a T56 tho
@@spiritlevelstudios what is it? Pretty sure they all came with t56. Including the sv6 models
Its a Tremec t56 in all manual VZ V8s and it's a aisin D173 (AY6) in the VZ SV6s
Maybe watch the video next time, its an M12.
lol the m12 is a "T56" with different gear ratio
Speaking of VZs, when’s the VZ Crewman coming out?
Not sure 😅 but soon
So much want!!!
i know someone who bought this particular shell for $500 and hes restored it but his has a ls1 inside not an ls2
Damn bargain!
I got one
Other than a VF, you can't tell me with a straight face that the VZ hsv and SS isn't the best looking commy Holden's ever produced.
Only thing i'll never understand is why the vz HSV's have such hideous, basic tail lights? Even the SS has gorgeous tail lights.
I’d say it’s even better looking than the VF.. only the VF interior is superior to all other Holden’s..
Col Mastro. Sorry but the VE/VF looked like shit and drove like shit
I know right that's why I changed my tailights to Calais tailights they look 1000% better should have come factory 💪
My guess was 6.34 so I wasn’t far off.
Good guess
Another mint video
Cheers bro
Mint 🙏❤️🦘🇦🇺🙌
Such a mint hsv
Broken centre console plastic door, stuck open. Have the same problem in my VY Calais, common problem I see.
Yes this is true!
They all have their issues eh
🔥💪
the best
I got number 16
Epic mate! Hold onto her
Show us
Love it
Cheers
@@RossReviewsau there's a sensational VZ Maloo for sale on market place, best I've seen, $48k in Victoria, I know you appreciate them too mate
What is the app called that does the 0-100 anyone?
Dragy
I thought all VZ manual clubby’s have the M12? Mine does.. awesome gearbox!
Might have been an optional upgrade
Mine makes 480
Healthy mate
Nice
Thanks
Hey Ross , driving a manual HSV in thongs we might just have to say your a real " Aussie " now
🤣 that was the owner but I’ll take it
Don't mind the car, but i'm probably going to be flamed for this. The wheels are far too big for my liking.. I'd like some nice thick 17's with some light-weight Enkei rims with a staggered offset.
17’s wouldn’t fit over the AP racing brakes
each to their own.. for the track that would be good.. i like the looks on these wheels tho
AWESOME car BUT sorry the TURBO BARRA WOULD SMASH IT
Need one of both..
If the Turbo Barra had its boost wound up a bit yep.. but this cammed Vz clubby would keep up and likely pass a stock turbo Barra. My VZ clubby makes 332rwkw with just over 600rwnm and can easily keep up with my mates stock turbo barra.. we fang it all over the place all the time ha ha.. when i was stock he would slowly pass me though.. im manual, he’s auto…
All HSVs should have been manual trans only.
Agree especially when the auto is a 4 speed
Agree I had the auto soon as I done some head and cam work blew it also they don't sound as good as the manuals
Unfortunately the more dollar he spends on this rare Holden the more hes throwin away as in time or especially now a bone stock HSV in any series is worth so much more unmolested
He’s not concerned about re-sale I think.. but I’m sure he’s got all the stock parts if he wanted to put it back that way.. these things were maid to be driven and enjoyed not collected dust for the highest bidder
A oil pump return spring failed a year after purchasing it. It destroyed the cams, and scored the crank. I had the engine pulled down, crank repaired, reciprocating mass balanced, and put together with all the good stuff as well as mantic single plate organic clutch kit. 13.5k was spent and in my opinion money well spent. The sound and reliability has been mad. It’s still running rich as from its original run in tune done on a 36deg arvo on the newly built engine.
The interior doesn’t look that special. Yes the motor is amazing in it and sounds amazing 🤩. But for the price of these HSVs I’d just get a normal SS
these cars were built like an old school homologation car like they did when they built the real steel cars. They were built as a track styled car, thats why they had 18s with semi slicks on them. Makes them more special as they were built as to what a real HSV should be used for. Enjoy your SS
@@topendtrucker nah I'd rather enjoy the old school valiant me and my dad own. Wouldn't pay over ,50k for a HSV
any SS would still be amazing..
@@RossReviewsau yes any V8 would
Love the thongs Ross 😂
🤣🇦🇺
All VZ HSV 6 speed manuals got the Tremec M12, Hasn't got leather or the upgraded R8 seats.. So basically its a base model HSV VZ club sport with a orange stripe and dealer team decals.
the best thing is the low build number.
Back in the day I think Id rather a HSV VZ R8 with same gearbox but better leather racing seats and 6 piston AP racing brakes standard plus choice of colours.
Also blasphemy fitting HDT wheels to a Genuine HSV... Sorry just being honest.
im pretty sure not all VZs got the M12.. and this also had better dampers + constant ratio steering rack for better track performance. i wish it had the leather.. but again that was heavier.. so idk weight savings
Also had a power steering cooler that none of the R8’s got. Also have the original rims.
Too bad they had to punt off Lowndes tow win the championship
🥲
Only four piston APs up front..no roof or leather...3.91 trutrac pedders coil overs...Then it goes and most importantly handles..Add 6 piston APs it stops like a champ too..
The car isn’t any good if it doesn’t make Ross pull a Ross face.
🤣🤣🤣
I definitely made a face 😳😵💫🥴😯😯😯😐
Just another Clubby....extremely over rated and ridiculously priced.
I loved it
these are not special in any way, shape, or form.
Bro good luck to you… this is a masterpiece of an HSV
Chur cuz *Maori tatts* 💪🏾
My brotha 🤙🇳🇿
never seen this model !
glad i could show it to you
