What I love the most about being an Aussie, that we dont care about military might, or space travel or world domination.... we just a bunch of hard working people who care more about the sun and outdoors than a life of work and little else and making sure everyone gets a go. Back in the early 80s the Bushwackers came around to schools in Perth (Western Australia) and played Aussie country songs. Bush bass, fiddles, guitars etc . We learned the old dances and reels for weeks and culminated in a school wide dance concert. Wonderful memories.
They also wrote and performed The musical Moondyne Joe about a West Aussie bushranger. Which oddly enough we performed it when I was in year 12. Very funny.

Not into TV talent shows but I am forever into this great song 'I Am Australian'. I am - You are - We ARE Australian'. And - yes - Dobe Newton of the Bushwhackers co-wrote that anthem with Bruce Woodley of the Seekers.

Jess didnt recognise them until she turned around. She would react quickly a lot of the time. Their subsequent performances in the competition were also pretty good. They eventually withdrew voluntarily from the competition to make way for "future up and coming" talent who are starting their careers.
I am one of the " stereo typical types " Guy speaks about, but we all came to this country as immigrants at one stage and we all have stories.

Yes Travis I agree that was 'BEAUTIFUL' I love seeing this again....when we didn't have the 'woke' left telling us the words of our National Anthem 'We are one and free' are not true. This song is so inspiring and brings 'all' Australian's together as it should be. We all came from somewhere...so cherish where you are. Jess is such an inspiring young women... Such a lovely moment.
The Bushwhackers are Anglo Saxon by heritage, Guy Sebastian is Indian/Malaysian, and Jess Mauboy is Aboriginal. It is so uplifting.

I love this song, and the storytelling. It truely is a part of what makes Australia great. I love the honest emotions of Jess and Guy. Jason and Rita are not in this year’s episodes. Ai will miss Rita. She was awesome over the past few seasons.
