    Gentlemen,
It's come to my attention that my ballistic data is off in this video. I used hornady's calculators on their site vs box-posted data but must have punched in the wrong value somewhere. Regardless, I'm still cutting the 350 Legend off at 250 yards, and accounting for the drop and drift with either a BDC reticle or dial-up turrets. I recommend punching in the values to a calculator like the one on www.hornady.com and building a dope chart with your personal measured muzzle velocity. Remember to also validate that chart at the range.
    Cheers! 🍻

Right on, I have the same thoughts. Guys I hunt with all use 450 bushmaster but to be honest their argument is basically (big gun go boom, 350 is for women) it's not very scientific to say the least lol. I think 350 is a far more efficient cartridge. I love efficient cartridges same reason I love 6.5 creedmoor. Vortex Nation did a really great ballistic test too if you haven't seen it, "350 Legend vs 450 Bushmaster - The Straight-Wall Shootout" ; I won't spoil it but watch it for sure the results speak for themselves.

I love efficient cartridges. Exactly as much as I need, exactly as comfortable as I can get it.
I did catch that Vortex video, very interesting results indeed.
      Thanks!

They also do a very good one on 6.5 CM vs. .308. I have a 350L and a 6.5 CM, and am happy with both - they'll each do anything I need them to do very well.

I have been a die-hard 450 Bushmaster fan since I bought my Ruger Ranch rifle 6 years ago. It is nice and compact but has a little recoil, not too much though. I have harvested a few deer with it here in Ohio w/ Hornady Black 250gr FTX bullets. However, I have had shoulder issues this year and decided to get a 350 Legend for the lower recoil, and man the recoil basically cut in half with the 350. I got a Savage Trailhunter Lite 18" threaded barrel w/ a Hogue stock. The action, feeding, bolt throw, and overall feel are 10x better than my Ruger Ranch. No failure to feed with this Savage which has plagued my Ruger Ranch. The stock does not get cold in winter like other plastic stocks. Two days ago I harvested two whitetails with it. I used Federal Powershok 180gr sp bullets. Both deer dropped dead right where I shot them which has never happened to me in my life. They always run at least 20-100 yards with my 450 BM and 50 cal muzzleloader. The exit holes were massive and extremely surprised since all the reviews I have watched complain about the 350 Legend bullets saying they overpenetrate and do not expand. This was not the case for me. Two for two is not a coincidence, I will never bring another rifle on a deer hunt in Ohio again. It just works.

Why not zero like 2" high at 100? Then out to 200 yards you're with 5-6" of zero and don't have to worry bout holdover until after that.

@@whitetail.roots.89 the 50 yard zero nearly accomplishes the same thing, but yeah you could go with a different zero range and not have to worry about dialing out to whatever yardage your ballistic chart reads. That’s essentially the maximum point blank range concept. Thanks!

Seems like 450BM does everything 350L does and a lot more, but it's pricier ammo if you are buying cartridges.

@@dittman2564 the 450 does more as far as energy goes, but loses points in drop and heavier recoil for me. But it’s absolutely effective.

@@Outdoor-Tactics yep, for close in fairly tough and/or large animals like pigs, and even predator protection, between the two, I would choose the 450BM.
For deer, in general, the 350L is potentially a better choice as long as the distance isn't stretched too far.

@ oh if we put pigs into the conversation, I’d be grabbing a 450 BM. Actually that’s not true, I’m getting a .308 lol. Thanks for commenting!
