I don't think i've ever commented one of your video but recently something been ichting my brain a liltle, your video title are pretty often in relation with the hate you got in the game, but i've seen countless fan spread love toward you and never seen title for them. I know drama sell but i mean your community seem so love/positive oriented, hate towards you in the game don't deserve to be "highlight" if you know what i mean. Today i just got Planetary rushed myself on the Ladder. I played terran as well and made a hellion/marauder/medivac drop into his base. When he float the planetary i just lifted the building and flew away. So i counter with a bongcloud xD
Great as always. Would move to see a slightly more macro game where you never turn your expands into orbitals and fly like 4 command centers in at a time.
ANother challenge build is terran, two base all ins, which is about macro management and beneficial trades. So you can only mine from two bases ever, but you can ahve as many orbitals as you want, you can transition out to a new base when it scv optimisation number falls to 9. This will will teach, that you don't need 5 bases or 4 bases to stay ahead or on par with terran, beause more mules and the cost effectiveness of optimising with only two bases can give you a military impact while optimizing your economic systems. your mining as you gain more orbitals should be around 1800 then 2700 and the point of the build is to optimize hte mobile behaviour of terran production and units.. so your "MAIN" is only where you are mining and your natural is only where you are extended form your main.. SO the point of hte build is to Economically manage a tight unit of buildings.. and move them in succession ando ther cc to the most tactful places on teh map... leaving behind only systems that cannot fly. WHich means marginal down time of new reactors and sci-labslater, but ultimately its not htat bad.. its a few second snad resoruces are minimal... Allows your mining and army size to be around.. 160... at around 40 scvs or less, typically 18 per.. but a few extra is great for building and an extra two do give like 4-8 minieral uptick, but its more about orbitals and mules. So against a terran you want to always have 50% more access to mules and scans.. the best hting is you can always recover scv losses quite quickly.. but since its mule mayhem economy... its mostly heavy into hellions and marines.. and vespene ot whatever you want wit hthis... on two bases you can get a , 4400 to 5500 minieral rate mining with 20 mules... mining.. and you can mine out faster than your opponenet, and since your are isolating your structures you just learn different things staying on constantly 2.2 bases. allows a much large military unit size that can do more damage, via, drops everywhere while mathcing their main... itsa turtle type looking build.. but its about using economic and turtle power of terran, to exploit the mule unit whihc technically The mule to me is a hero unit, more so than a mothership... Terran heri unit is a Mule... The early game savings... since some peopel get 100 scvs... is pretty intresting so here is some math. Every ten scvs = 500 minerals. Every orbital = 3 scvs - 1 mule - 650 minerals time wise - 96 seconds to build and deploy a mule and orbital. The longer the orbital is alive the higher the value index, and mules dying when its heavy mule build isn't so bad. Since htere is no cost ot rebuild if you have the orbitals.. scv - 12 second build time - cc - 71 second - orbital addon 25 seconds. SO building orbital first ot use as a mule is always faster, by one scv. So in the total time to build an orbital, you lose out on 5 scvs. 8 scvs verse 1 mule. A mule is worth about 3 scvs as some say. Technically a Mule is worth 4.5 scv's while mining the entire time, but for purpoes I always think three, because its dependent on node distance and timing of whihc patch it is mining from. instead of going 100 scvs - 5000 minerals. we go around 40 scvs and the rest is mules and two base only. (keep in mind all orbitals can be flying around the two bases and land to sendm ules to mine and then left back up or be used as defensive walls, basically you are fully utlizing hte mobility and defensive structures types of terran. This can allow you to easily push into over expanded systems of the enemy, since there is a population cap... there is a MINERAL mining cap... so your opponenet having 10 bases at a 200 pop cap doesn't relaly allow more mining its more like a future territorial push.. and you managing yoru flying mobile army and 160 military use will be able to push out the enemy anywhere, with ease.)} 40 scvs - 2000 minerals. 11 orbitals is valued around 49.5 scvs or 33 scvs low/high average. cost is - 7150 However you will be mining out your locations so fast, that you wil ahve to manage your buildings while managing your larger military. and maintaining two bases for the challenge. Having so many orbitals is okayish since your can recover your mining losses with the next delpoyment of mules... without the cost to rebuild, technically it ends up being even cost, in a macro game. Obviously 3 bases could be better, but a challenge of always operating only 2.2 bases, would be quite a challenge to learn new eocnomic ways of thinking with terran... Mules are so crazy.. its the only way to mine out co-op games is using mass mules, which is funny. Just build more and more orbitals in the game.. having around 14- 18... and when at your pop cap you can just keep spending on orbitals, but built or flying in a logical way, so they cna always be defended... around your two core building setup. With a 160 army supply as your goal to maintain.. just sheer volume.. it can be a real criss for your opponenent to defend... evne if they are building coutner units to a specific unit.. it makes it difficult and typically bad trades against defend their expanded bases. hmm.. can one manage flying buildings and an army and economy.. I don't know. lol
Uthermal told us at the start of the series that this will be one of the most difficult series yet in reality I haven't seen any episodes in which planetory rush seemed countered properly.
Idea What if you moved your command centers to make it look like you have taken bases early. Maybe like a 2 base all in but with your bases in the spot for base 3 or even 4. Sorta Leap frogging your bases out
A thought for the next challenge: snipers in the shadows. All the foliage / steam spots on the map with no vision, hide ghosts in those parts and set up ambushes. Maybe reaper packs for some pop-up surprise as well and to act as the bait. Reaper / Ghost challenge.
Hello Marc ! I think ur highest MMR was like 6400 with random....i sadly dont exactly know which challenge it was. Only thing i rembered it was random. U said there: " oh wow this even 500 mmr higher than my main" ...was like 1-2 month ago i guess, hard to say without ur ultra mind :D I really enjoy ur videos, keep going friend !
Marc combat the cheese complainers Truth to GM - You can go whatever build or strategy you want but you have to tell the opponent what you’re going for or doing. Plus whatever spice you want to add to the challenge
The cheese has either succeeded or failed before Neosteel hits, is the main reason he can't. It's a good upgrade, but because of that it is expensive, especially in build time at 100 seconds. PF's beginning construction around 4 mins with the Engy bay up only slightly before that starts. The Upgrade started as early as possible is then pretty much moot, as it won't be finished until 5:30 or later. Delaying the PF any longer allows the opponent to maintain their wits about themselves for too long before the pressure and the panic of the PF can strike, and at this MMR many opponents will have either a bustling economy and production up and/or a formidable army by 5 mins. Starting the CC super early, using the SCVs tasked to repair the PF to mine from some proxy base, starting the Engy bay immediately with 3 workers on gas to get neosteel started immediately, then sending the first built CC along with a second one started nearby would still leave Thermy without enough units to hold off the opponent's 4:30 - 5 min army or eco. ATM his gas is going into the first 2-3 reapers because he needs them to survive the immediate scouting or harassment. He'd just be losing games to one Reaper while trying to get neosteel in time for it to help. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle. The other half is keeping the freaking CC alive long enough to put on it's Mighty Mouse underwear.

You could probably count on one hand how many games one hellion has been sufficient, when two was possible, among those on this playlist. I think a comparison video would be cool; to see how effective neosteel is against various counters would sell it pretty well.
Pretty sure you have played zerg before, because I remember the problem was being able to slap the Command Center down before the creep got in the way.

Curious, does anyone know which races he has lost to in the planetary rush? Like 4 zerg, 5 protoss, 3 Terran or whatever. I am curious given the amount of games, which race has defeated him the most. My guess is Zerg but I don't know.
Game number two... the player could of forged and lost the natural.. and done a few things that he may have one or forced a macro game. IE carriers, Dark Templars, tempests, collusus, warp prism, charge, photon wall at hte top side of ramp, back 2 units... he had money.. so Ithink he left prematurly... but... if your ever stuck ina position, like that at the start of a game, concentrate on one base, and hope your opponenet is only on one base... and hten defend... I htink he went too many phoenixes.... he also could of just sent those phoenixes to harasss the worker production in the base, adn hten defend the main and lose the natural... stalkers are pretty useless in that setup... hmmm I htink he had a good advantage... He also didn't manage his phoenixes value very much... he spotted the cc when flying.. and a cyclone... you can trade those 1 for 1... quite fast... or be aheda, so if he primararly took out the cyclones... and hten micor managed the front... and allow hte scvs to do whatever and the fortress, he can deal with the turrets and fortress later... and stalkers can handle the reapers fairly easy... robo/ warp prism would allow him to remake a second base and simply buidl a wall and transit until he can take hte fortress in a cost benefit way... whats interesting about fortress' is once they are up, if they are landed by buildings they tend ot trade out at a 1 to 1 ratio or higher.
On your second game you didn't check the north side of your base fow at all. The probe was going here like 3 or 4 times. Could be a shame if it was a pylon here, I guess. Just... I kinda don't get it.

i always loved this strategy but it was rare to see it in games, your series has been a blessing!

The hilarious thing about this series is that the PF rarely even completes, it's just that the opponent's brain melts at the mere thought of it.

Cheese idea: Triple rax flown into the enemy base, land and train mass marine. Rax can land at 2:20 and pump out marines ....

He also didn't manage his phoenixes value very much... he spotted the cc when flying.. and a cyclone... you can trade those 1 for 1... quite fast... or be aheda, so if he primararly took out the cyclones... and hten micor managed the front... and allow hte scvs to do whatever and the fortress, he can deal with the turrets and fortress later... and stalkers can handle the reapers fairly easy... robo/ warp prism would allow him to remake a second base and simply buidl a wall and transit until he can take hte fortress in a cost benefit way... whats interesting about fortress' is once they are up, if they are landed by buildings they tend ot trade out at a 1 to 1 ratio or higher.
The issue with that is time. Can you even get a robo and prism out before he pushes up the ramp.

On your second game you didn't check the north side of your base fow at all. The probe was going here like 3 or 4 times. Could be a shame if it was a pylon here, I guess.
