    Cool things. Thank you very much. Btw.. Does chrome reopen last opened tabs on each profile when you switch and close previous one?

    I have my personal gmail profile, and my work profile separate. However, my work isn't attached to a Google account, so I can't sync and back them up. I can't create an account to store data in Google due to security rules. Is there another sync option outside of the Google account? I know the files are stored locally, but since it changes everyday, manually backing up would be tedious. And we use MS 365 and OneDrive, but OneDrive doesn't allow you to pick local files to backup, on Mac (that I know of). I'm trying to avoid having 2 browsers (Edge for work, Chrome for personal). Any advice?

    Thank you for this video! I'm a new Virtual Assistant, and it has been SO helpful for me to keep my work stuff separate when working in Chrome on my laptop. I would like to know how to add multiple Google accounts to my Android phone without content getting mixed up. Is this possible? If you already have a video on this specifically, could you please share a link (I had trouble finding one)? If not, I think it would be a good idea for a video. I really like the way you explain how to do these things. Thank you! 😊

      Hi Angela, thanks for your kind words! I am really glad that you found it helpful :-)
      With your Android phone, you can add multiple Google accounts in the accounts section of settings. Then, in each Google app (e.g. Gmail, Calendar, Drive etc.) you can switch between the different accounts using the 'hamburger/pancakes' (three horizontal lines) button in top left corner. This keeps everything separate and is how I use multiple accounts on my Android phone. Hope that helps!

      @@Utb You're welcome! Yes, thank you! 😊 I had an issue with contacts syncing together when I added my Aunt's account to help her with her business. But now that I think about it, it will just be my business account, and I think I'm okay with those contacts merging if they do. 😉

    Hi -- Thank you for the great video From my main and only Google account, I created two other Chrome profiles for different jobs but on those two other laptops for different work, when I log into Google/Chome the new profiles I created are not showing up. I can see all three profiles on the MacBook I created the profiles on under my one and only Google/Chrome account log in. Do I need to create a new Google account(s) for each laptop/job instead of just creating new profiles? Hope this makes sense and thanks again.

      Hey there, glad you liked the video! Yes, you're right, you do need to create the extra profiles on each computer, as it is a locally stored thing. Hope that helps!

    Hi Sam, great tutorial! Thank you. Can you use this for multiple people using the same google account, setup a profile for each person on the same account? I wanted 5 users to use the same Google account but be able to save their own bookmarks etc. Thanks, Kim

    • @Utb
      @Utb  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kim, thanks so much! The only way to make that work would be to create the profiles but not sync them to the Google account. Each person could still login to the Google account in their profile, but you'd have to make sure they didn't turn on the sync setting in Chrome. If they did, it would sync their settings and bookmarks up to the Google account. If you do it this way keep in mind the bookmarks will only be stored locally on the device so you'd need to export them if the users moved devices. Hope that helps!

    I wonder, is it better to separate through profile or tabs?

    • @Utb
      @Utb  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Using separate profiles will keep your two Google accounts completely separate. Whereas just opening them in separate tabs means you need to keep switching between accounts, which can be both time wasting and cause access issues if you're in the wrong account

    Hi! Great video!
    A question from a power user 😊
    I have a lot of Chrome windows with a lot of tabs in them.
    If I have a few windows for each profile, what will happen if I'll click on three-dots -> Exit?
    Is there a way to close (and then reopen) windows for a specific profile?

    • @Utb
      @Utb  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, glad you found it helpful!! If you have the Chrome 'On start-up' setting configured to continue where you left off, then it will remember the open tabs you had for each profile. I can't be sure if it will reopen them in separate windows or not (seeing you said you have multiple windows open for each profile), however it is worth a go! If it doesn't, try using Ctrl-Shift-To (or Cmd-Shift-T on Mac) once you open one window and it should open the other window and the tabs you had in it. Let me know how you go!

    I am following the video but where it shows for you other people mine says Other profiles .. and where it says add for you , it shows on my screen Guest but nothing else in the list. so no option to add any othe profile or email. Do you have a solution for it or is this an option I need to activate to be able to add other people or email account?

    Hi I have my personal Google account and a school account. On my old OnePlus phone they were linked however last week I swapped to a pixel 5 and now when I sign into my school account it makes a work profile which is perfect as my Gmail and other apps are separated. However when I want to use Google on my school account my account doesn't show there! I have no idea what to do as I'm not able to use Google on my school account only my personal.

    Hi!
    This video is very helpfull, however I am worried about losing all of my saved bookmarks. My issue right now is that when I log into my personal email through google as the profile user (top image beside 3 dots) I lose all of my bookmarks etc. When I am in my work email and google drive account all of the bookmarks are there. Anyway you could helo me out?

      Hi Danielle, great question thanks for asking it! The best way to be sure you won't lost your bookmarks is to export them to a file. Then you can import them into another profile (e.g. move between work and personal profiles). Plus you have them safe and sound somewhere in case something goes wrong! Here is an article that explains how to export bookmarks www.makeuseof.com/tag/backup-export-chrome-bookmarks/. Importing works from the same place. Hope that helps!

    • @samanthagarrett7111
      @samanthagarrett7111 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tonyastarrcompton3575 it depends on why you want a second profile :-) People typically want one so that they can keep to Google accounts completely separate. If you don't have two Google accounts, it may be that you just want to keep bookmarks, browsing history etc. separate for two people or for work and home. if that is the case, it doesn't need to be linked to another Google account. Not sure if I am making sense, but you're welcome to give me more context.

      Is there a way to then save all the settings of the 2nd profile for when you change devices? As it is not linked to a Google account, it does not sync. My work email is not a Google account so that is not an option.
