- Major tragedy reported from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Friday morning. Amid heavy rains, the front roof of Delhi Airport’s Terminal-1 collapsed. Shocking videos posted on social media shows support beams fell on cabs and taxis at the pick-up and drop area. Several vehicles were damaged and thereby injuring at least six people.

In my country, the design consultant, the civil engineer on-site, the quantity surveyor, the engineering company, the construction material supplier, the guy who approved the project, and all key relevant heads involved at every stage of construction will be thoroughly investigated. Some things have gone very wrong somewhere. Set up an external competent Investigation Commission to get to the bottom of the matter. Internal investigations are suspect. Prone to cover-ups and protecting the bigtime crooks with power and authority.

A couple of months back, newly constructed terminal at Bengaluru airport syatted leaking water after heavy downpour.

I suspect the drain system must have got clogged thereby preventing rain water from draining to the ground and eventually accumulating on the roof exceeding its sustainable weightload

This Airport was constructed during 2009.. Not sure why Papu bhakts are blaming Modi..
Maintenance work should be party free and politics free. We are humans not belonging to any party. I don't even like going to parties. I like to stay home. But maintenance is necessary despite which party is responsible for doing that. In terms of construction it looked fine to me a civilian, don't know what engineers thought about its safety standards. I think this was unnecessary. If it happened to some non metro airport like Pune,it was quite understandable. But Delhi having this case doesn't look right.
