Hey Hannah, I met you in St. Paul (I'm the redhead from Chicago who took an overnight greyhound bus to get there) - just wanted to say and didn't when we briefly met that your content really helps me. I just moved to a new city by myself with my dog and have your Field Guide to Being Alone tote that helps reframe the solitude as independence. Not all days are easy and having consistent familiar content to watch helps the bad days pass. Thank you!
I remember! sending love to you and your pup, I know how hard new cities can be. You’ll find your place and community, it just takes some time and putting yourself out there ♥️
Wow, that's a brave move. Good for you! A good place to meet people is in dog parks. And don't discount sweet elderly people. Sometimes their friendships are just what you need when you are in a new city.
After seeing how cool your bedroom turned out, I have complete faith that taking the bench out will result in another exceptionally well designed project!
I adore you. And hello from Scottsdale, AZ. I’ve watched you channel for a couple of years now. I look forward to them. When you girl-bossed your snow plow and chains and said how gratifying it was to solve your own challenges, you inspired me and I did something I never thought I could do….went to a car salvage yard and pulled my own part. When I checked out, with my part, 3 dudes behind the counter were laughing, not at me but with me. They took bets on how long I would be out in this massive auto salvage yard looking for the vehicle and then to get my own part, without help. I got high-fives from them. They were like, who is this Karen coming in and pulling her own part? I was like, I was amazed and intimidated myself, but I was inspired and discovered, I could do it myself. Thank you Hannah. I love you and all that you inspire.
Isn’t it amazing!!! I love this story 😄 do it once and you realize you can keep doing more and more and it’s easier to feel okay not knowing what you’re doing because you know you’ll figure it out, or ask for help and learn from that. Keep going! 🥰
I did that once as well at the best salvage yard in Minnesota. They said it would be a couple of hours before they could get to the part I needed. I said, no problem I can do it myself. It was for the instrument cluster in the dash. They asked how long it would take me. I said less than 10 minutes. They said if I could do it that quickly, I could have the part. Guess what? I didn’t pay for it. I got a lot of parts from them for my old Mercedes, lol. Good guys, they were so proud of me and actually offered me a part time job 😂.
I honestly love the dismal feel. Snow dotted landscape, fog shrouded trees and moody gray streams. It’s my soul speak. Sand, palms and sunshine doesn’t really do it for me most of the time. I’m a mountain girl from the Ozarks. But I’m so glad you got a break with friends! You look sun kissed and recharged! Excited to see your future projects Hannah!❤️
It's your house so you do whatever you want. It's a massive pet peeve of mine when people dictate what they think I should do to my home. Very annoying.
Love it Hannah when you start a project, I always think when you start ripping everything apart I always say to myself “I don’t know what’s she’s got in mind, but she never disappoints”! 😊
I worry about you doing all that ceiling work with no eye protection. Love your ambition and determination to get things done. Bamboo ceiling - beautiful! Another great video.
I admire you Hannah, because if I'd been in charge of the bench project, I'd likely have put some pillows on it & then just laid down there & looked out the window birdwatching, reading, or napping 'n stuff. Helpful Tip: Napping is easiest when you're already laying down🐕
The excitement I felt when you said you were going to make paper is unmatched! I found your channel sooooo long ago now when your first paper making video was suggested to me eeep full circle.
I loved that bench, could happily live on it as a matter of fact, sorry, I was one of ‘em, haha. And I know Hannah loves that area too and I just KNOW there’ll be some kind of fabulous bench parked under that window between the desk and the bookshelf she has envisioned and we’ll soon be forgetting how it used to look like the rest of the house, lol. When she’s done she’ll have to compile a before/after videos somehow because it’s truly unbelievable all that she’s done to the place, so inspiring. K now, where’s my crowbar…? 🤣❤️
Don’t forget to mulch on top of the cardboard as well, unless your goal is for it to not break down. I’ve had uncovered cardboard out in one spot of the garden for almost 2 years, which has been great because I wanted it to kill some really tough weeds. But if you mulch on top of it, it will break down in a few months, which is generally more desired.
I was going to say this too! Adding compost then mulch will make it much healthier soil AND keep it weighed down so the cardboard doesn't just blow away
I currently have the winter blues , and projects are a great way to get out of that , the hardest part is getting started , so I’m building a fireplace for my living room . Your videos are great motivators ..
Looks awesome and OMG the wainscoting on the ceiling will totally change that room with a white wall where the water stains will be epic too. The burlapped ceiling gives it a tropical island flavour in the plant room! See, ya didn’t need vacation, you’re bringing your vacays back home with you. Hard to believe how far your house has come, it’s a home now. Still chuckling over Molly’s realization she was being filmed and your hat as the hangman. You two are too funny. God Bless and cheers from Eastern Canada.
I live not too far from that house in your frame! Walter Palmer was a Puritan settler who help found Charlestown and Rehoboth MA and Stonington CT. Stonington CT is where this house is which he and his son in law built. It’s right on the Wequetequock Cove on 300 acres of land. He is buried in the Wequetequock Burial Grounds of Stonington. I believe the house was built late 1500-early 1600’s. I live in the town of Mystic CT which is the next town over from Stonington. If you google his name you will find a whole history of him and pictures of his house now and of the monument of his grave.
OMG I worked on a farm in Stonington, CT this past summer - it is a great place!!! Absolutely stunning wiht all the great old trees and stone walls and houses everywhere all the way down to the harbor!! Great place!!
Hannah, thank you! I agree with your t-shirt! And not respecting a woman no matter how she chooses to present herself, with or without haircolor, with or without makeup, athletic or hourglass... same. It's time WE can say, "Here's the deal."
Ha ha ha ha ha ha... It was fun feeling frustrated with you! and yet you got so much done. I wanted something to finish, but I appreciate the frustration. Things not being finished is so apart of wanting to do something while also feeling lonely. I can relate. So much fun to watch!
Loved the projects this week. It's so funny I was just telling someone about you and how I found you; the first video I ever watched of yours you were making paper out in are yard. Looking forward to seeing that project done to.
Well, I'm curious how it comes out in the end. I loved the bench. Sturdy, perfect storage underneath, a nice presentation spot for decor, and lovely to sit/lie on it by the window, pretty sad to see it go. I love the little bathroom shelf!
If you put the cardboard down in the Fall and cover it with mulched leaves - maybe a little garden soil and compost - it will have the time needed to break down the cardboard and do its job. Killing weeds etc. Otherwise plant what you are going to plant in the spring and fit your cardboard down rows, around plantlings etc. That will keep weeds at bay and still break down and go into the soil. You could cover the cardboard paths etc with seedless hay if you don’t like how the cardboard looks and that can be turned over into the soil also to break down throughout next winter.
I live in sweden, we have the same weather here 70% of the year, the stoneage people who moved here came to a tropical landscape but then the iceage came and now we live in the traces of the iceage with cold depressing rain in the south and almost always snow in the north.
This video eased my mind: all over the place is so calming to my brain!!!! Love the progress and keep the good work up, oh also the lighting in this video was so pretty!!!!

I remember as a kid playing in a three day golf tournament. So fun and tiring. The next day I was just sitting. I told my Mom I felt funny, and had no idea what was going on. She said you had a fun time and now you are adjusting. I just remember feeling comforted by her words.
I find that if you tackle the "moody blues" with lots of light and color* and music, a few artistic projects and a cat for a companion, you'll be surprisingly joyful. I say "cat" as opposed to a dog, because they're more independent and don't require as much care/attention. Reserve one room for lots of bright colors and light. *[Since you are drawn to tropical environments, I suggest you choose colors of tropical birds and flowers.] Perhaps when the weather is a little warmer, plan an outdoor party at your place. Make it fun, Hannah! You have so much talent and skill. Would love to hear your experiences of how you learned to become so handy with construction/remodeling. You are such an inspiration to so many. Keep going! 🤩
I totally get the post travel blues. Ugh. Especially when returning home in winter. Hang in there. That said, I love watching your diy adventures. Your home(s) are looking so beautiful. The little entryway project…chef’s kiss 💋. What am I saying? All your makeovers, I love. Way to jump into the deep end with this/these one(s)!
I remember the last paper making vid from the old cottage. Old cottage was a magical place. And you seem to had more time to relax back then😢. Hope we'll get to see it soon. Love today's vid. Curious to know the previous owners book was about. See you next week😢.
I live by myself and it took some getting used to but now i love it Your plants are beautiful and they l9ve to be talked to and have music played to them
I have dreamed of having a camper since I was 17. I started watching your channel years ago to at least watch someone as weird as me love the dream. Now I'm sitting in my 22 foot home watching you live the next level of my dream. Happy to have you with me and keeping me dreaming for my land with a fixer upper
Looks so good! I love your style and as always, your amazing free spirit to do the things that you choose. Ignore any negativity and keep doing you! 🙌🏻
Hannah! I love the ceiling. It looks really good with the plants. Lots of work always. Yup. And it takes a minute to adjust to being solitary after being immersed and , in your face, connected to such fun ppl. But , my opinion only, it's good to have balance and time for projects and creativity. Sooo! I enjoyed the content! Soo great to see your prowess at creating and just bringing your visions into brick and Mortar reality. Love the Lupin Lane Locket!❤❤❤
That coin is a 1971 Swedish Krona! Interesting! Hey that bamboo or reed matt ceiling likely looks awesome irl, it just looks underwhelming on camera and a smallish screen. A closeup would perhaps help. But only for us followers. Paper making is fun and easy! You can add essential oils for fragrant paper, dry grasses and seeds, dries leaves and herbs and flowerpetals too! You can also chose to mold it around any object covered with clingfilm. Like a big bowl, for a decorative storage basket, or even for a really cool lampshade for a ceiling lamp! If you save some fine pulp you can add dimension and texture, shapes to it as well. And add ink or dry pigments to die the pulp right through. You can drill holes in it to let light through. It's really fun! I think Id either paint the rest of your upstairs ceiling with white stain or paint it, or better yet remove the two slanting sides panel as well as the wood onnthe end wall the same height as the top of those slating ceilings which would give the room a solid symmetry and put up a thin wood moulding just around the top of remaining panel for definition and finish. I like wood but in balaned proportions or it becomes cloying, dark and very "sports cabin in Vale" - looking. It's always so great to see what you come up with doing! ❤️👌
I do the carboard-as-mulch and it also keep the gnats down! It's definite the cheapest way to kill weeds/keep moisture in the soil/helps soil life. I keep it in all year round. On dry weeks I do have to water the cardboard. It's kind of ugly however, the lack of weeding is A++
Love Sunday, a good cup of Java and a Hannah post. Love all your contents. I always feel so energized after to get off my lazy bum to do projects. You are amazing with many talents, there nothing that you can’t achieve. Love seeing all your projects come together. 😆💚
Your chaos is inspiring, how do I say this, you are living the life my younger self only dreamt of. You are an incredible woman.Wishing you everything you want. ✌🏽 love your videos and so proud of what you have achieved. Can’t wait to see your whole line of jewelry and books.
Your video of making paper from a couple years ago, was actually the one that brought me here. Came for the tutorial of making your own paper, stayed for all the other projects and vlogs😊
LOVED the CEILING! What was the material you put on the ceiling? I have open beam ceiling in my basement & have been looking for something to cover it, like cloth or large paisley or patterned fabric. Please tell!🫶🏽🙏🏽! (😮😢& yes, I loved the window seat you tore up🥰🏚)
Ceiling looks great! Now all you'll need is a huge banana leaf ceiling fan!😊your plants look so good! Lots of great natural light in there now that the sun is shining....finally!
This video was such a full circle moment for me !! 🥲 the first video of yours I ever watched was your first paper making video !!! 🥰 can’t believe how far you’ve come Hannah can’t wait to see what this year will bring for you and your channel and business sending lots of love from the uk 🇬🇧 xxx
I love every item you're putting out... please never do limited releases, I want to be able to buy everything eventually. ;A; LOVE how the room is going, the tropical vibes are so nice. Although I loved the bench in that room, I know you're a pro who will put together something even more glorious!
I overall feel that removing the wood panelling on the ceiling and the bench in the office upstairs seems like a good plan - the Bench made the room sort of out of proportion and I think the old wood is much lovelier than the new. It looks sort of scandinavian vs the log cabininess of the new wood. Also I do like the treatment on the ceiling downstairs - it looks sort of like a tea room somewhere tropical
I just missed watching your videos. By the way, I bought your ring which I absolutely love. I wear it on the time of my right hand. Love it at the knuckle so I have that too. I didn’t expect it to be so small though, but I do wear it all the time, you’re so lucky that you get to live this life with your dream I’m married, but we live separately the biggest mistake of my life the only good came out of. It was my son I didn’t even need him for that being that I was inseminated you might think to TMI, but I have no one to talk to sometimes I think it’s better off if I’m not here❤ 1:25

I'm an Ozarks girl too, and I also love the moodiness! I crave the gray oak woods, and cold gray skies.

These are my favourite videos. I love it when you’re home doing projects
Same ❤
I wish I had 1/10 of Hannah's skills, props to the girl.

So true. Only the person living in the house knows what they need or want or how they like things to look.
Pet peeve of mine not having my own home.
Don't put your home online if you don't want strangers to tell you what to do.

Hahaha me too! ❤
Cold weather is nice at first but gets depressing. I have a plant room now. Lots of tropical plants and it helps a lot ❤🪴🌿
That would be way so cool! I have to be careful what plants to get as we have cats.
In my aquarium a realy pregnant fish overdid itself and I have tried to grow gills and fins all day

I thought so too. I am also Swedish and was very surprised to see a krona all of a sudden😂
@carinaekstrom1 @@miatorok2564 Same here!! I think she lives in an area that had a lot of Swedish immigrants at one point. Pretty cool!
@@jenp3752 I guess that makes sense then, if that's where she's at.
And it was from 1971, so I'll guess that bench have been there for a while 😊
But the big migration from Sweden to Minnesota was maybe 100 years earlier 😊
Might have a connection to that anyway.

That is the best part when it comes to working with wood is it never goes to waste. I love the Ceiling! It looks great!
I see the ceiling against the plants. Very nice vision. I look forward to seeing the completion.
Could you use all the discarded wood for planters in your garden, or make some new raised beds? May be good use of " free wood"
You are not alone when you are on TH-cam.
Yes go for it 💪💪
miss you too glad to see you back 💞
I just love your vision with all the projects you tackle.
So in love with that ceiling.
It just fits your home so well Hannah.
You could cover the cardboard paths etc with seedless hay if you don’t like how the cardboard looks and that can be turned over into the soil also to break down throughout next winter.

so much beauty in your clumsy moments :) enjoying so much! Thank you , Hanna
I don't know why, but your cabin videos have something so comforting to them. 🥰
I agree..I love those little cabins! I rewatch those videos over and over!
I love all your ideas and your way of doing them. The ceiling is amazing, good job!
I do the carboard-as-mulch and it also keep the gnats down! It's definite the cheapest way to kill weeds/keep moisture in the soil/helps soil life. I keep it in all year round. On dry weeks I do have to water the cardboard. It's kind of ugly however, the lack of weeding is A++
You're inspiring me to start one of my unfinished projects...one at a time...until they're all done. Thanks and good luck XX
You Could Travel To Florida And Stay In Florida For Until May Or June Hannah.
The part of the ceiling you have finished is looking great. 👌
The open shelf area could have closed storage on the bottom and reuse the doors on that bench, Paint them.
Assuming you want white shelves.
Love Sunday, a good cup of Java and a Hannah post. Love all your contents. I always feel so energized after to get off my lazy bum to do projects. You are amazing with many talents, there nothing that you can’t achieve. Love seeing all your projects come together. 😆💚
That looks beautiful Hannah. Be careful with the power tools falling on you please. Thank you
Your chaos is inspiring, how do I say this, you are living the life my younger self only dreamt of.
Love the bathroom shelf! Not so sure about the cabinet, but I am sure it will turn out beautifully like all of your projects!
LOVED the CEILING! What was the material you put on the ceiling?
I have open beam ceiling in my basement & have been looking for something to cover it, like cloth or large paisley or patterned fabric.
Please tell!🫶🏽🙏🏽!
(😮😢& yes, I loved the window seat you tore up🥰🏚)
I always have faith, you are so brave and so unafraid to make your dreams a reality that I admire so much! Can’t wait to see the final products!
That’s cause you’re a rebel!!❤
Ceiling looks great! Now all you'll need is a huge banana leaf ceiling fan!😊your plants look so good! Lots of great natural light in there now that the sun is shining....finally!
BEAUTIFUL, Very Hemingway!
Our own style in our homes are the best way too go.👍😀
I love every item you're putting out... please never do limited releases, I want to be able to buy everything eventually. ;A;
LOVE how the room is going, the tropical vibes are so nice. Although I loved the bench in that room, I know you're a pro who will put together something even more glorious!
The coin you found is an old Swedish krona (SEK). That find really threw me for a loop as Swedish person haha
I would’ve left part of the bench between the two shelves to create like a reading nook, but I’m sure it’ll look great! 🥰
Happy beautiful Sunday!! keep up the amazing videos always!
Yes, the cardboard works so well. Plus, the worm gets under the cardboard and works the soil. Wet news paper does the same, and it breaks down
I overall feel that removing the wood panelling on the ceiling and the bench in the office upstairs seems like a good plan - the Bench made the room sort of out of proportion and I think the old wood is much lovelier than the new. It looks sort of scandinavian vs the log cabininess of the new wood. Also I do like the treatment on the ceiling downstairs - it looks sort of like a tea room somewhere tropical
Much better without the window seat/storage unit 👌 Love your vision 🫶
I just missed watching your videos. By the way, I bought your ring which I absolutely love. I wear it on the time of my right hand. Love it at the knuckle so I have that too. I didn’t expect it to be so small though, but I do wear it all the time, you’re so lucky that you get to live this life with your dream I’m married, but we live separately the biggest mistake of my life the only good came out of. It was my son I didn’t even need him for that being that I was inseminated you might think to TMI, but I have no one to talk to sometimes I think it’s better off if I’m not here❤ 1:25
