1. The buttons with the triangles on the steering column that you are calling "up" and "down" is not the correct way to consider these buttons. They are "previous" and "next" respectively. Just think as if the buttons were turned to the right 90 degrees or laid out horizontally. 2. When using the dial, you are turning the dial to go up and down your channel list of favorites. OK. You press/click the dial to select. OK. To go back your favorite channels list you must push/click the button to the left and not it turn it. Push/Click to the left 1 time. Pushing/Clicking 2 times to the left with move the cursor to the Music and Setting icons column. I hope this helps.
When comparing my Lyric to previous cars I’ve owned such as Porsche Audi and Lincoln Continental, I must call it my so so car. So quiet. So smooth. So powerful. So smart. And so relaxing when using super cruise. I’ve had it for over 13,000 miles and experienced none of the issues described in this Video or other comments. I can’t wait to drive it every day. It’s simply a fantastic car.
This seems like you could do this kind of trashing to any car ever made. Yes, it’s complex and there are a few software issues. All easily looked after. Try Aston Martin. I have a 250 k Vanquish that won’t shift into gear. The dealer had it 4 months, gave it back with ac4000 dollar invoice and said they can’t fix it, parts are on permanent back order. That’s after previously spending 26,000 rebuilding the transmission that now won’t shift. It went in originally because it slipped out of 2nd every now and then on corners. I love my Lyric. Considering how ground breaking it is they have done a great job and these quirks will all be fixed. I have had Ferraris, Lotus, Bentley and dozens of others and my new Lyric and our old Volt are still my favourites.
Test drove the Lyriq yesterday. I really like it and the smoothness of the drive. However, the A/C was atrocious. Drove it for 20 minutes with the A/C blasting and it never cooled off. Tried a different one with the same results. I was sweating when I got out of the car. Lost sale. Too bad. How could GM not have a strong A/C in a Cadillac?
I also have issues with the dimming of the display, it goes too dark at dusk right before night time or even if i drive quickly under a bridge, it goes dark too fast and stays dark for a while until it finally comes back on. Wish I could turn off auto-diming.
The first time I was going in reverse in the rain and it slammed on brakes I thought I had ran into a pole, I was thinking my first week owning this car and I backed into a damn pole. It happened twice before I got home that night and when I got out to look I couldn't see any damage so I thought I had ran over something and damaged the underside of the vehicle.
You’re complaining about having to click the knob to the left to get back to the satellite radio stations? It’s just one click, my friend. Hashtag Luddite.
Took one out yesterday for a spin. Walked away after service guy said the lyriq sales had gone stone cold. They had about 20 of them at dealership he said software issues and battery life were complaints. Keeping xt4 for now but i hope ur software gets fixed
Had same thing happen to me with auto braking backing up out of driveway!!!!!! Also had it happen in traffic, behind a car going like 3 mph and it slammed on brakes.
Just took possession of a Lyriq Sport 3. I also own a Mach E. Despite both being mid sized SUVs they are very different cars. The Cadillac has a much more refined ride and luxurious interior, the Ford is much sportier in it's handling and doesn't feel so heavy. One the whole the Ford has a better UI on the software. The STUPIDEST thing on the Cadillac is the inability to turn off the fake engine noise like you can on the Ford.
good to know. seems like things a software update could fix... I really want one of these over the empty interior of a tesla.. .I guess these growing pains are part of the process
I have the 2024 Lyriq now with about 4,000 miles. My door latches randomly open - sometimes they pop out when I get close with my fob and sometimes they stay STUCK. I have a minimum of 11 defects & ALL DOCUMENTED, including some of your defects. I wrote to the GM general counsel two months ago, my state attorney, the LOUSY Sports Cadillac dealer, etc., and the state attorney is investigating. My driver-side panel plastic clip broke; therefore, my driver-side panel is loose. My headrest adjuster broke off and is still off. I'm letting my Maryland state attorney help me per Maryland state law. GM general counsel, the board, the CEO, etc., got my certified letter, and NONE have written back to me!! I'm grateful I got the extended warranty and KNEW, more or less, for what I bought from a Toyota (my last new car brand) to an American GM. My first American car was about 30 years ago, and this Cadillac will most likely be my last American car. #GM #GMdefect.
I drive a Cadillac lyric for work sometimes, and I liked the car until I experienced complete brake failure, had the car towed to the dealer and it took them a week to reprogram the computer telling me it was a software issue?

That's really helpful, although it does sort of emphasize that the system isn't intuitive.
@@henryprice5716 Agreed.

Did you fix these problems? How is it now?

I have a new sport and it's amazing no issues. Use the wheel

It is crazy, that you have to turn off safety features to drive the car safely
YEA!! In almost 4,000 miles, it has prematurely slammed on the breaks four times with NO visible obstructions.
Picked up a Sport 1 today and traded my '16 Model X

Weird that my sunglasses fit perfectly in that tray. It is not even tight.
Doesn't the Lyric have a sunglass keeper on top?
No place to put sunglasses, It is a little crazy

What measure did you take to finally get the vehicle to stop?
