TBH, calling it "Switch 2" would be pretty wacky from Nintendo. They never called a console "2" before, it's usually another word (or letter, in the Wii U case) along with the name. That being said, all these leaks are more likely than not to just be bullshit.
Same way I don't believe the "switch" part is going to be the only gimmick. It must have something weird
Ps5 disc drives are up on ebay for $200. They're being scalped....naturally.
This was my guess as to why they are selling out everywhere. Scalpers grabbing what they can to flip them for crazy high prices.
As soon as they said they were sold out I knew that's what it was. Flashbacks to ps5 era.
Shadows of the Empire was what got me into Star Wars...I feel seen.
The whole digital/physical topic is exactly why, aside from nintendo I've given up on modern games. If I buy a game I want to own it.

The only thing I want right now is a Switch Lite 2, with the same size dimensions. I have a regular Switch V2, and I’ve badly want to swap for a Switch Lite, but I’m still waiting on what the Switch 2 will look like.
If they’re coming with a Switch Lite 2 on day one, with the same size, I might be getting that day one.

One thing about left 4 dead 2, for a game that is absolutely intended to be a multiplayer game it has excellent writing and characters so when you're in singleplayer you can experience the fun characters. All of the survivors are really lovable imo.
Not sure if you guys already plan to talk about it, but Nintendo has sued the Palworld developers for patent infringement. Also I just wanted to comment that left 4 dead 2 has a healthy modding scene that can freshen it up on PC.

You have to remember Nintendo will probably lean on streaming a lot more this generation. So the Ram isn’t as important for the big BIG games.
37:53 CPU wise yes very similar. Its the graphics side that would be an issue. Intel has designed their GPUs in a very atypical manor. Which also yes extends to theirs apu's. Its hard to explain without getting into the weeds, but think of it like a screw vs a nail. Everyone uses screws and intel is a nail.

Imagine if Xbox made a disc drive to attach not only to a series S via USB, but one that can attach to a pc to allow you to play Xbox discs on your windows pc
do you think the second screen could be confused with a touch pad on the back like the ps vita? I know that was rumoured ages ago. I doubt its true but it could be the weird thing that nintendo always brings in to diferentiate it from its other consoles.

Bob is saying that you need a switch that is a little more powerful, that is kind of the thing that made the Wii U (also the gamepad of course) that made it a huge failure. They can be very close to a Wii U situation if they release something like that. People will say, ok it is the same but more powerful, Parents will start thinking that they kids already have the previous one and it runs a lot of mario games, why should they buy something that looks almost the same and that it does not anything different apart from fps and resolution? (which is not a big selling point for a lot of people)
I think the biggest thing against the Wii U was the terrible name and a lack of system selling games. No exclusive 3d Mario or Zelda is a big deal, and a lot of people thought the Wii U was a gamepad for the Wii, not a new console. Pretty much every console outside of Nintendo just iterates by upgrading hardware and then offering new exclusive games that you can't get on the old one. People love the switch platform so much, I think Nintendo wants to ride that wave without taking too many risks. We will get a new 3D Mario at launch plus some big 3rd party games that couldn't run on the Switch, and people will buy it for the games.
No, you misunderstood the issue with the Wii U. It was due to the name and how it was unveiled. Most people, including within the gaming media industry thought it was an add on to the Wii. It also looked very childish, like a "my first tablet". The WiiU was actually more powerful than the PS3 and a lot more powerful than a wii. The power difference between Switch and WiiU was actually smaller.
The switch 2 with 12gb ram compared to 4gb is a big improvement, and using conventional numbering practices (playstation and phones) suggests nintendo is heading in the right direction with the sequel.
As a fan of the ds and 3ds line of systems im bummed out that there probably wont ever be a dual screened console again. maybe in the form of an independent console like the playdate-crank-device. i recon we are "stuck" with handhelds split into two main tiers, one being beefy pc-handhelds and two android emulation devices. and the steamdeck plus switch (or moreso switch 2) being placed comfortably between the two. so i would predict that the main competitor of the switch 2 will continue to be the steamdeck and will be upgraded accordingly. i mean Nintendo in its usual anti-consumer efforts are cracking down hard on retro emulation and emulation of their main console games, which are often played on well.. steamdecks and other pc-handhelds.
also, apart from Nintendo, the pc-handheld space is kinda settled and saturated, most people who want a pc-handheld already got one and there must be proper reason to buy another one. and that's where a switch 2 could come in: the switch has been the performance-butt-of-the-joke for years now and an upgrade for existing owners seems obvious, but also as a choice between steamdeck and switch2 for completely new users. if Nintendo continues to crack down on emulation as hard as they are doing now they have a big bargaining chip on their side, i.e. the first party Nintendo games always sell like hotcakes

The two Nintendo switch SKUs for a handheld only version and a handheld with dock, the dock will have an inbuilt GPU to help the game run at higher resolutions and better frame rate.

I agree to a certain extant that there wasn't many disk drives to begin with but I'd say most of the sales are from greedy scumbag resellers because now there's 2 PS5's without disk drives
So there's going to be parents/grandparents ect who don't know no better & will buy the PS5 Slim or Pro & not realize it doesn't have a disk drive to play the old physical PS4 games or the PS5 games they got along side of the PS5 Slim or Pro
It's the PS5 launch situation all over again with scum bags scooping everything up while Sony isn't producing many to begin with
