  • Hey there thank you so much for watching this video it means a lot to me. I try to upload videos as often as possible so if you like this style of content please consider subscribing it would really help me out.
This video shows how I restored an old rusty draw knife tool and brought it back to working condition. This tool has two hand made handles that made from Yew wood which I believe elevates the hole project

ripitup_88 here,,,,I think it turned out very nice. No sense in letting something sit around and rust away. Now let’s see it in action.

Were the original handles beyond restoration? They didn’t look like they were. All in all it turned out nice and can continue to do work.

The handles are made of beautiful wood but I don’t understand why you replicated the difference in handle length? The ones you took off weren’t original so I don’t see why you didn’t fix the problem when redoing them. The wood is beautiful though.

As fair as I know they were original but I try to stick as closely to what I am restoring as possible to avoid people getting upset about be changing the look and the function of the piece. I do agree with you though that matching handle would have been better in my opinion but I decided to go against and stick with the original lengths

They were originally going to be saved but I found them impossible to remove to I have to break them in order to get them off.

@@workshop4979 Understandable. Most want to break if they haven’t been destroyed already. Nice work!
