I have a PM1236 metal lathe and have been compulsively making wood handles for; files, bolt rifles, and chisels. Maybe 300 handles from 30 kinds of wood. African Blackwood is my favorite. Yorkshire grit is a real short cut for finish. Annular end mills are a shortcut for getting one end of the wood round.
Wearing of those gloves will cause serious injury. 30 years a machines. 8 and a half fingers. i never wore gloves. i could not imagine loosing an arm. really and unnecessary risk.
Super clean. Well done.
Definitely a machinist
