I am currently involved with an almost FULL restoration ( except the interior) of my blue '99 GTP coupe. Good thing I'm a retired auto body mechanic so the rust issues I can repair myself. New engine and trans very soon (79,614 original miles on the engine and trans going in) Full body and paint plus plenty of ZZP upgrades and new 18 inch wheels. Gonna be awesome when I'm finished with it (hopefully) this Summer of 2021. Can't wait!
So just badges and a hood scoop, other than that the 04 and up year models with the GT trim and SC 3.8 make the same hp as stage 3 models of the gtx. A real find is an 06 Grand Prix Special Edition (as it was only built in this year and very limited)...I got one by accident and didn't know till I did research plus it is the GT trim with the SC 3.8L, one hell of an engine
You better do more research the Special Edition was also made in the older body style, the ( in comparison) 2001 body style. Also the 2004 ( if it was supercharged ) was the last year for them to be labeled a GTP with Badging! After that they were a GT whether or not being Supercharged! you still had the base models as well, with no badging except for a Grand Prix badge! Also the series 3 engine did come with more factory HP than the Series 2 engine, the Series 3 did not come out until 2004! This guys GTX had a Series 2 not a Series 3, thus you cant compare any GTX as same HP as yours because they are 2 different Engines! You have just been schooled boy! Next lesson i charge for!

why cant we still have these cars. instead we are stuck with very expensive performance cars and boring economy crap and nothing in between. these are fun cars i will continue to buy them until i cant find them anymore. the L67 is a phenomenal engine. i currently have a 2001 GTP 4dr and i had 2 other GTP's. the engines run forever but the bodies dont like the salt. i have my current car sprayed (oiled) for winter but im going to look for a southern ZERO rust car in a couple of years. i am not interested the current offerings anyways.

@@minnesotamade2468 no problem man. I actually want to ask you your opinion on a dilemma I have. I have an entire front cradle from a rear ended 01 gtp. Engine, trans, harness ecm everything. I have two willing homes for it, an 89 cavalier Z24 convertible, and a 91 Beretta gt that I manual swapped last year. Took two parts cars to do, but it's done. Owned it for 21 years now. I can't decide which one to swap. Any input?

Thanks for your input as there isn't alot of information about this car! Last year around this time I was looking to buying a GTX GTP GP. The seller wanted $1,700 for it and was firm on his price. However, upon the test drive the car had too many issues including steering problems, transmission slipping from 1st to 2nd, some sever body rust, and the owner himself was a bit shrewd and limited on his answers about the car. He wouldn't tell me much other then it was kept in the family the whole time. But at 175,000 miles on it, it appears those where some hard abusive miles. I tried to talked him down on the offer but he wouldn't budge on the price so I gave up on it. ...fast forward to today and another GTX has come about I tend to go look at it real soon hoping this is a much better conditioned car and hope the seller is more 'openly' communicable about it too. Crossing fingers and hope for the best...
SLPdid the regals with the lsx(non s/c) and then the gsx s/c version with the same variants as the gtx's. Building a clone sleeper gsx right now. Really fun platform
I have the gtp what ever happened to this gtx clone is this a v8 version of the gtp? How do i find this car , the only gtx that apears online are the 08s and anything after 03 please lmk

Grand Prix's used to be everywhere.Now people just buy overrated charger and challenges....and beat the crap out of em.

I had a 92 firebird gtx back in 99. Unfortunately it was totalled. And found out it was a rare option.
It was just a V6 with some decals. Nothing special.
What Firehawk are you looking for? The 91 and 92 have the most power. It’s crazy it was like 350hp and 390 torque in the 90’s.
